"Ugh...you mean your fancy-schmancy weapon'll snap if you hit 'em too many times? Dang," Inky grumbles. As the hastening spell takes hold, the eidolon considers her options.

"Alrighty...Tiddles! If you can fit up here, show us what you can do," Inky calls out as she falls back, trying to either make room for Tiddles or perhaps see if the columns will take the bait and follow out to where there's more room to fight.

Aeliah steps back 5 feet and spontaneously converts fire snake into SNA V to summon a pair of augmented pteranodons to impede the progress of the caryatid columns.

She also conducts a brief totemic transformation ritual into saurian form, choosing hard scales as her guiding focus. (move)

The Waking Rune

Nina's Haste spell cannot target Aeliah and Daedîn, she does not have line of effect to them.

Tiddles is currently occupying Thoriel's space, but Thoriel gets to act before the big ole dinosaur so as long as she is elsewhere that's ok. Tiddles does have 10' reach, if Aeliah wants to adjust his position.

I will resolve all round 1 actions before any from round 2, so Tiddles will be delayed to the top of round 2 in order to receive Aeliah's instructions.

Thoriel dashes to the top level of the ziggurat. To the east of the structure a platform of some sort leads into the darkness. She sees nothing moving, but to the south east she hears a voice.

Thoriel:
In the abyssal tongue, you hear chanting: "Come, come, Chaos-that-Crawls! Come and consume all!"

Pai gains a little altitude.

Nina hastens your steps. As noted above, Aeliah and Daedîn are out of line of effect.

Aeliah conjures saurian allies...

The two pteranodons strike at the oncoming statues, and Tiddles' thagomizer sweeps one of them off its stony feet.

Daedîn destroys a statue, even though his arrows shatter on impact. Costs you 3 arrows (sneak attack only applies to the first). Durable arrows don't get increased hardness, surprisingly.

Teric returns to keep an eye on things.

The prone statue stands... Provokes an AoO from Tiddles and from Red Pteradon - I'll roll an attack if it survives!

Teric flies up to help the gorgeous elf, once again admiring her backside as she hustles into the top level. He turns and conjures three balls of light into one of the corridors south of him, hoping to see inside the structure better.

"Ehhh...I think maybe Aeliah and Tiddles and Daedîn have things under control down here for the moment," Nina remarks after watching the dinosaurs absolutely demolish several of the statues. "Let's fly up a little so we can see what's happening!"

The eidolon nods and begins to ascend, rising up to try and get a view of the second floor.


The Waking Rune

Adjusted the initiative tracker, since some at the end of round 2 followed Teric's round 3 movement.

Red-scales gets beat on by one of the constructs as it squeezes through the ruins, and doesn't manage to return the favour.

Yellow-scales manages to bite another construct but finds that stone doesn't break easily - unless you're a two-ton stegosaurus. Tiddles destroys another construct with one sweep of his spiked tail!

Aeliah makes some elf-magic with Daedîn alone in the dark.

Teric, Nina, Inky and Pai fly up to see what Thoriel can see.

The first floor of the ziggurat shows no signs of life. On the scond floor, Teric's lights illuminate an empty platform to the south. Chanting can be heard from the south east but walls obscure the view. Below the ziggurat-citadel are black waters. At the limits of your vision, those of you at the upper level can see a platform of some sort extending to the east.

Another confusing aspect of the map - in the top left corner of the slide there's a grey 'stone' area with 'wooden' planks extending east. This is the same level of the ziggurat as the level that Thoriel, Pai and Teric are at - but you can't yet see that part of the ziggurat because of the shape of the stonework (walls).

"How are things going down there?" Thoriel turns back to the others following up behind her, just in time to catch Teric admiring her rear. "...and by down there, I mean the lower level with the statues, Teric!"

The elf then points over to the southeast. "Looks like we need to head that way...assuming of course we want to go meet this 'Chaos-that-Crawls'. And why wouldn't we? They sound like they'll be charming!"

Thoriel then pushes ahead to see what lies behind the walls obscuring their view, sword drawn at the ready just in case something pops out to attack.

Move, with readied attack should she encounter something on the way.

"Yes, yes. I believe Daedîn and Aeliah are making quick work of things. I only hope Tiddles doesn't knock down any support columns." Teric replies, not actually making eye contact with her. "The others are coming up too. Just don't get too far out in front of us."


The Waking Rune

Daedîn manoeuvres and squeezes an arrow through the narrow gap between wall and dinosaur to strike the last construct, but it's not enough to destroy it.

Thoriel comes face to face with a morlock! But unlike the morlocks that you've encountered thus far, this one wears more than a loincloth. She has studded leather armour and an elaborate headdress. Once, the headdress must have held many jewels, but now the sockets where they were placed are empty.

The morlock steps back - protecting the long wooden platform that reaches out into the cove behind her.

"Մեծ մայր, մեծ մայր, ոչնչացրու իմ թշնամիներին և ընդունիր իմ առաջարկը:"

Abyssal:
"Great Mother, Great Mother, destroy my enemies and accept my offering!"

Suddenly, in response to the morlocks' chant, a pillar of flame engulfs Thoriel.

Teric flies into the chamber looking across the open gap to where Thoriel faces off with the morlock. He sees her engulf Thoriel in a fiery spell and motion with his hand. A word of power later and an icy plane coalesces behind the morlock on the platform, blocking her from retreating.

Blocked for the moment by the tentacles from getting too close to the morlock, the magus instead conjures up some mirror images of herself to boost her defenses.

Daedîn finishes off the last construct. Costs you three more destroyed arrows, including the one you fired last round.

Teric blocks the morlock's escape with a Wall of Ice. The creature looks over her shoulder, then back at the Trade Prince. And she grins - a horrible, insane grin.

Pai flies higher, to get a view of the struggle. In the dim lights of her colleagues' magic she sees the morlock, and conjures Black Tentacles around the degenerate. They fail to impede her, and she laughs.

Tiddles goes in search of Nina and Inky but finds that the pair have flown away - at least, they've flown higher. Aeliah does more elf-magic with Daedîn and her two pteranodons look on.

Though she doesn't like the shiny glitter, the morlock avoids getting it all over her large, white eyes.

Both Pteranodons double-waddle a total of 10’ to the west as they squeeze/cope with hindered terrain.

The Waking Rune

As noted earlier Aeliah and Daedîn are not Hasted.

Sometimes in the higher tiers odd things happen. The morlock didn't cast a Confusion spell, she triggered a Domain power that creates an Aura of Confusion. Daedîn just flew into that Aura. It will also effect the monkey swarm because it's not targeted at individuals - though the swarm doesn't arrive until just before Teric's next turn because Monkey Swarm is a 1 round casting time. The Aura is a supernatural effect, but I will allow saving throw bonuses against Enchantment.

Thoriel whacks herself instead of the morlock.

Nina and Inky hover in place and Nina hurls a snowball, but the mass of tentacles throw off her aim.

My bad on the casting time. If it doesn't appear until just before Teric's turn, does that mean, I can position the monkeys onto the morlock's new position? I can easily put it over her and not get Daedîn. If so, the previous rolls/checks still apply.

The Waking Rune

Aeliah and Tiddles climb the outer steps of the ziggurat, but are late to the party. You can see Pai flying above you, and a glow from the south (Teric's lights), but depending on your light source the battle with the morlock probably is out of sight. There are a few walls too :)

Some benign power keeps Daedîn from suffering the wrath of the Great Mother, and he fills the morlock full of arrows. Yet she does not fall.

Teric resists the morlock's influence and summons a swarm of monkeys!

monkeys Will DC18: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 10

The monkeys steal the morlock's headgear as they bite and scratch and screech.

Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12

To add to the indignity, Teric hurls ball lightnings...

I don't see anything in the spell description that prevents multiple lightnings in the same square.

The morlock can only dodge one of the lightnings, and gets caught in the path of the other two just as Nina and Thoriel arrive to finish her off!

Thoriel you can keep your Frigid Touch spell if you wish, the morlock had already taken enough damage to kill her.

Although the morlock is presently covered in crazed simians, those of you close to her note that she carries a large satchel and a wand (as well as a stone club).

As the morlock falls, a loud rumble echoes through the cavern. It seemed to come from the east, out over the water.

You all note the wooden walkway beyond the tentacles. And the wall of ice.

With the death of the morlock priestess Mo'al, any Confusion effects end. I don't think that a dead creature can continue to emanate an Aura generated by a domain power.

She points out the way, and the hasted stegosaurus double-moves (squeezing at times) enthusiastically to obey.

“Sorry, Teric. ‘Slick Man’ is name Tiddles know you as.”

Aeliah then calls down to the Pteranodons, translating from reptile into Taldane, so her companions know what she’s up to.

“Yella Fella, Big Red, fly up into the airspace to the north of the high point of the northern side of two-leg tall-nest. Attack anything unnatural that is NOT a winged feline. (Sorry again, Inky)”

The winged reptiles lift off the ground to the north, double-climbing at a 45 degree angle in a straight line. (No fly check required)

“This good time to heal and buff for whatevah headdress morlock summoned.”

Aeliah projects her voice around the corner. “Thoriel, you still want stoneskin? Otherwise, Nina Brightspark might like it.”

“But you have to meet me half-way to get spell this round.”

Aeliah moves 30 feet closer to Thoriel, Nina and Inky and readies an action to ✨cast stoneskin on Thoriel or Nina if one of them enters a square adjacent to her.

Teric directs the monkeys over to the field of tentacles, telling them to drop the headpiece they stole too. Then he motions with his hands and the lightning balls spin out to the open middle of the areas, while the balls of glowing light approach the fallen morlock body to allow everyone to see better.

"What's in this satchel?" Teric walks over and opens it up.
