Neil, sorry the charm didn't work. I gave Dr. M a -4 on the save cause she was really well-disposed toward Jaeric, but she was made of sterner stuff than that. I subscribe to the philosophy that victim who save know that something was tried, even if they don't know what. So there had to be repercussions. I think it was a good gamble though. If the charm had worked it would have been a lock.

We've just got the report to Luwazi and a debreifing to finish and we're done.

You guys can start upgrading to level 6 for the next adventure. You have 16000 credits total wealth to work with.

A few questions:

- Can a weapon be upgraded to its next higher level by paying the difference in price, or do you have to buy a new one for full price? Example: Artillery Laser (Corona) to Artillery Laser (Aphelion).

- I think in order to keep the Thermal Capacitor he found during the adventure, he needs to buy it for full price, right?

- What is our item level limit for this—level 8? Or can he push to level 9?

SFS limits gear to level+2. So 8. If I remember correctly.
You would have to buy the thermal capacitor.
See the answer to Never below.

Never:
After buying gear for level 6, each character's total wealth (gear + cash) will be 16000.

No hurry I've got to get the next module ready. Remember that 16000 limit essentially means you can sell existing equipment for 100% of cost.

Also, this scenario does something wonky. It says Elsebo gives you each some gear that would normally be out of level range and budget as a reward. Then it just lists it like anything else you've encountered in the chronicle -- so you'd have to buy it at full price by SFS rules.

I'm going to give each of you the opportunity to buy either the Tier 3-4 or Tier 5-6 prize for 3/4 price. That's a MK1 electrostatic field armor upgrade or a Black Force Field armor upgrade.

I'm also going to give you a 10% discount on items you've run into during your adventures. I'll make the list tonight.

Happy New Year! So much going on at the end of last year, I'm glad we had the break. The company where I work was bought out. Had to do a bunch of paperwork, pick new insurance, etc. And then had the inevitable rush job before Christmas, rescuing someone else who had messed up a job. And then was surprisingly busy with family things after Christmas.

But I'm feeling good. I hope you all are too, with good prospects ahead and some enthusiasm for rebooting the campaign. This game has been really great from my perspective; I've enjoyed it immensely thanks to your excellent role-play and creativity. And thank you for your patience with my pacing of posting.

I think Lorne and Sparky had a bit of overlap in skillsets anyway, so it's probably fine to continue without adding someone...although, a technomancer might be a useful addition down the line. We don't really have arcane spells covered very much among the current group. I've been filling in however I can by focusing Jaeric much more on being a mystic now than an envoy. Just a thought...

Starfinder seems a lot less reliant on filling the 4 niches of Pathfinder. Stamina points and the 10 minute rest help a bunch. Most technomancers I've seen seem to focus on attack spells, and less on buffing and utility.

I think you guys have been doing great. Onward with 4 it is. I'll post tonight when I get home and can look at my notes.

Just saw the summary and realized the radiation damage was pure HP. Adjusting my status line to show that, giving me a few points of stamina back. Not sure if it isa good trade, though.

HP v SP will be a wash, if you take enough damage in this fight to break into HP. Where it could matter is if you take more radiation damage. Fortunately you've got plenty of healing serums, right?
