Graff shrugs as they leave the altar alone.
He wasn't about to brave that unnatural cold. They weren't so he wasn't going to stick his neck out either. To destroy, he needed to be alive to do that....
Shen Hawaah

Shen opens the door.
She checks for traps and detects magic.
perception : 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34
“What do we have here?!?“
GM Aerondor
|
Ahh, what do we have in here. A pertinent through from Shen.
A row of nine open coffins stretches from east to west across the north wall of this room. Each coffin is made from a dark wood, painted black, and polished to a mirror finish. The inside of each coffin is lined with green fabric and holds a ratty blanket and musty pillow. Boxes, crates, and barrels line the south wall on either side of the simple wooden door there.
Shen notices that the entire room smells sickly sweet, vaguely like a mixture of rotting vegetables and fresh taffy.

Hi GM, sensitive of the 2nd pp i am not sure if you are describing a trap with that smell. :-) just to be sure if there is a trap and if I hit the dc by more than 5? See PRD:
Creatures that succeed on a Perception check detect a trap before it is triggered. The DC of this check depends on the trap itself. Success generally indicates that the creature has detected the mechanism that activates the trap, such as a pressure plate, odd gears attached to a door handle, and the like. Beating this check by 5 or more also gives some indication of what the trap is designed to do.

From the door you don't detect any traps.
The smell however is reminiscent of poison. You also notice a body collapsed next to one of the barrels on the southeast side of the room.
And heck, with that roll... you think you notice something on the surface of many of the barrels and boxes also.
Shen Hawaah

Thanks GM! :-D
Shen informs the others.
”Be care careful! Anybody has something to take care of the poison?! Oh ... there is a body!“
heal , is he still alive : 1d20 ⇒ 16
Sylvester Solstar

Sylvester runs over to Shaggy giving him a big hug before jumping on-board.
He rides next to Shen.
"I can magically clean the room if you like. It might take a few minutes."
"Of course if I had some help it would be quicker."
@GM Aerondor - Prestidigitation should be enough to clean poison or other residue off of the bodies, barrels, boxes and even the floor leaving it sparkling clean. It also has a range (of 10') so my character does not have to touch the poisoned object to clean it. :)

'Well, let's see what happens if we send Gumbo in. Stand back everyone, there might be a swarm of spiders or something. Gumbo, go in there and stomp some coffins."
Graff Leogil
|
"Destroy some of them while you're at it too. I'm below quota..." Graff calls out from the back...
Ledt
|
"I can help dust them if you are concerned" Ledt uses mage hand to help do that "Maybe avoiding to breath in there might help as well"

The team of magi set to work cleaning the room. While Gumbo lumbers in and stomps on the coffins making a real mess... which the mages then tidy up.
Ewww, One of those coffins still had a body in it. Oh well.
Speaking of bodies, Shen eyes up the first one she found. Oh it is dead, very dead. From ... poison.
Gumbo doesn't mind about poison. He's already dead. Handy that sometimes.
After cleaning up Gumbo's mess, and the vast quantities of poison that were still hanging around in the room, the team does a quick detect magic, and determines that the rather... splattered body, has a few odd magical bits of pieces on it, a sword, a scroll-case and a small bag.
They'll make for a nice bit of resale.
And really, that was the last thing that was likely to affect you, so the rest is really handwaving.
You are left with a bit of a dilemma about what to do about Gumbo though. An undead giant in the capital of Taldor might... cause a comotion.

Great!!
Shen looks at everything and her face contorts.
“Ehhh ... gross!!“
She says and asks the nice sorcerer to clean her dress too please.
“I suggest we blast the undead and get going guys!!“
Sylvester Solstar
|
With time to spare now. Sylvester magically cleans and mends Shen's dress.
Sylvester nods at Shen's suggestion.
"How about asking him to hit himself repeatedly. That could be interesting."
It is a shame that controlled undead fire giants do not carry over. Gumbo was very handy this adventure. :)

Gumbo made a huge difference to you. Guess I should have made you work your way across that bridge again, but you already had worked out ways across that more or less rendered the bridge unnecessary, and any small amounts of hp damage you took were going to be irrelevant as you were on the way out anyway. I'll try to get your chronicles cut this weekend. I seem to recall you missed out on a small amount of gold from some art works being burned up, but generally you got everything. Well done.
Graff Leogil

Graff looks as the others decide how to dispose of Gumbo.
Putting his hands aside, he instead begins final rites for the zombie who had done so much for them abject unwittingly or not.
Silgil
|
Silgil is at a bit of a loss about what to do with Gumbo. Can't just leave him lying about. Too easy to control. In the end he just sends him off to do some self harm until he self destructs, like jump from a high place over and over.
"He was quite useful, wasn't he. That scroll was money well spent."

Gumbo is directed into the pit at the top of the stairs, after surrendering the ring of climbing. Silgil then sets him to work digging straight downward with his bare hands.
Gumbo is never heard of again.
Ledt
|
"I want to think he will find a fire giants graveyard at the center of Golarion and be free forevermore" expresses Ledt as he sees the undead disappearing in the darkness.
"Well, all this Zyphus business was a real mess" the halfling grumbles as the pathfinders make it out of the cult's structure "I wonder why did they send the team magic instead of the team rogues. But I guess they are busy on a mission involving intricate magic. Such is the way of the Venture Captains leadership"
Then, turning to Sebastus "What are your plans now? I guess we should take you to Taldor's authorities and make you pay for the participation in all this, but I actually hate that kind of stuff, I prefer you just disappear from our sight"
Silgil
|
Silgil is too embarrassed to contribute to the conversation, having mistrusted the fellow the entire time.

Sebastus sighs. "I was told that you would take me back to Absalom." he admits.
"My name is worse than mud in Opara now, and the rest of Taldor for that matter. At least in Absalom you speak a civilized language."
To be honest I've been wondering about making a "sebastus" character for PFS2, there are a few bit-part characters from PFS1 that end up in the care of the Society that we never hear from again and I think could do with some play-time.
Ledt
|
"If that is your will, I am more than happy to take you with us to Absalom" Ledt nods firmly to Sebastus "Your information probably saved our lives. At the least we knew what to expect"
The halfling casts a final respectful smile to the man.
Shen Hawaah

Shen looks at the group with a aloof smile.
”We did well! Thanks for the pony and gumbo undead!! They saved us!“
