As for orange, Yuri, I calculated 19 hp of total damage you dealt to it since it has DR10/Good; let me know if I missed something there...I think I've got the other adjustments, including upping the retribution damage from 7 to 13...

The Treant, Rokgurn, and Jack team up to slash, gash, and freeze the purple demon into a pulp of icy goo...

...and then Yuri and Jack slice and dice up its orange companion as well...

Rokgurn immediately begins to prepare for the next battle. He takes out two pearls of power and recovers some magical energy spent. He takes out an arcane wand and attempts to bolster his life force. He then heals himself with a wand and consumes five berries to bring himself up to full strength. He taps the Treant-like creature to bind its wounds as well. He bolsters himself with his wand of Heightened Awareness and casts an enchantment of Freedom of Movement on himself.

"I still think that there might be more in the tank than just the sword. Once everyone is ready I will have the Treant see if he can push aside the curtain of seaweed in the tank so we might have a look."

I looked through the loot. There are six potions of Cure Serious Wounds (3d8+5) and four scrolls of Cure Serious Wounds (CL 12) (3d8+12). I suggest that people make use of them. I have also noticed a scroll of Irresistible Dance that would be great for Daathiel as he is low on spells.

Rokgurn turns ethereal. He then flies into the giant aquarium looking for treasure.

@GM Otha - You can see and hear what is going on the material plane while on the Ethereal plane. This should allow Rokgurn to see if there are any hidden creatures or treasure hidden in the tank. He will simply take 10 on his perception check for 43 to see if he notices anything in the bath tub or behind the seaweed. One round of travel should be sufficient to check the tank and to fly in and out.

Yuri, the Treant pulled the sword from the corpse…

Daathiel and Rokgurn heal the party up…

…and then Rokgurn studies the aquarium; he detects no creatures but catches a glimpse of something metallic…he directs the Treant to part the seaweed and it reveals a chest…

The chest is further than 15’ from the opening but I’ll handwave that as there are no creatures lurking in ambush…

The Treant is able to grab the chest and bring it out of the aquarium, lying it on the floor beside you…

a staff of souls
four candles of invocation (LN)
a manual of gainful exercise +3
six other tomes on Taldan history
a lord’s banner (terror) bearing the cross-eyed medusa

...and you also find a small locked jewelry box, which Daathiel also finds easy to unlock, which contains two dozen black pearls and a 4th-level pearl of power, indistinguishable from the others until detect magic is employed...

Rokgurn will use the pearl of power to recover a Ball Lightning spell if no one objects.

"We should hold on to the staff of course and not just chuck it into the Portable Hole. It might be handy for protection against dark magics."

Those candles are so nice to find as treasure for a LN Cleric as they are very powerful consumable items but quite expensive as well.

Daathiel likewise recognizes the construct.
"Yes, while not actually made at the Golemworks of Magnimar, this construct was made by a master of the Golemworks, and in fact there was a clay model later found in a cellar that indicates..."

He rambles on for a bit.

Special attacks. And, if permissible, feats. I think unintelligent constructs don't normally get any from HD, but they may have bonus feats, and I am particularly curious if it has Combat Reflexes or not.

Daathiel will draw and use his wand of Bestow Grace.

Alie didn’t know squat about the construct other than she wasn’t normally a fan of constructs. ”Haste is always helpful, isn’t it? Maybe you boys could be nice enough to smash it real good,” she asks nicely as she completes the spell.

Please remember your haste bonuses. Let’s get it.

At Rokgurn's command the Treant lashes out at the enormous metal statute.

@GM Otha - Treants do double damage against structures and objects. A construct is an animated object but it can also be considered a creature (I guess). The damage rolled is the base (not doubled damage) so it will be up to you to decide how to rule on this assuming that the Treant hits at all.

@Alie - Thanks for the Haste. :)

I will post Rokgurn's action once you get back to us with the information that both Whisper and Daathiel have uncovered.

Registering what it was constructed out of, Jack grabbed Fossilblight instead of his sword and activated it to bypass the damage reduction. "Iron Medusa, not Adamantine Medusa." He ran in with the heavy pick in hand, not putting any extra effort to avoiding the attacks to try to lure it into making an attack on him instead of any others who wanted to get up close.

Rokgurn descends behind his enormous tree ally taking cover (5' fly). He draws forth the last pilfered scroll of healing from his Handy Haversack and casts it on the Treant. Rokgurn then closes his eyes and relies on his Echolocation (Blind Sight 40') to keep him aware of the battlefield and his opponent.

Aye Vladek, 10 charges...

Rokgurn, I'm gonna rule that the double-damage doesn't apply here; saw an old D&D 3.5e post going over this and the strong opinion was that it did not apply to golems, animated statues, and the like. Won't matter here any way, this creature is no threat, more of a piece to the puzzle in figuring out the inscription...

As Daathiel, Alie, and Rokgurn cast spells, the Treant and Jack attack the statue...all of their attacks strike the medusa statue but only Jack's does full damage...

He makes so many rolls (when I factor in all the come and get me attacks) that I don't worry about it too much, though it's a little annoying on a round when he couldn't full attack. Better than on a save though!

Alie kind of liked watching the boys massacre demons, golems, undead and the like, so she took a round to watch the destruction instead of wasting a spell.
