On the north western edge of Al Aimtidad, the anvil desert, sits the jewel of the world, the city of Zhayalammar. It is the ancient city of invention, horror, passion, and sorcery.
For this challenge Cairee would like to be casting Resistance on everyone pretty much constantly. It lasts 1 minute. Do you think it's fair to say she's doing this passively if they're just moving around (not in combat or actively working on a puzzle or something like that?)
The ceiling is 20' high. The table is in the middle of the wall. The table is 5' wide. So the lowest edge is 7 1/2' from the floor. It would take only a little effort for Dounia to jump up and grab the bottom lip or nearest leg of the table.
No, they are affixed to the wall sideways in the same orientation of the table door and sconces. The flames of the sconces are the same orientation as you.
Now that Tymyhty spotted the key... which direction is it hanging? Towards the table affixed to a "wall", or towards the floor we are currently standing on? In case the mirror ir a gate, I'd like some forewarning if the gravity inside the mirror world is shifted.
By the way, this "divided by spoilers" thing is fun. For all I know, there is nothing particularly important going on under the other tag, but just the possibility of it creates a nice sense of urgency ;^)

Happy New Year!
Sorry that it's cold for you this year, Tymythy. I've experienced plenty of deep freeze new years. This year, it's unusually warm where I am. It actually rained last night instead of snowing. That's something that's never happened before.
I imagine the most practical spot for the piton is in the wall just beneath the mirror in the 6 o'clock position. There would be very little rope to grab onto. This is helpful as it means more of the 50' length of rope is on the 'other' side.
Tymythy is on his knees trying to pull on the piton now while Dounia has one hand on the rope.
Just to clarify, Cairee's storm attack was on the Tymythy climbing down the paintings, not the one on the floor. If it succeeded he's at -2attack for 1 round.
I hope the claws aren't good enough to cut through the whole rope in one go. There's been enough falling down things happening to good people already ;^)
Also, damn. So this has been going on this side of the mirror the whole time?
Cairee - you have two uses of Channel Energy left for today. Don't forget you can also convert a spell into a cure wounds of the same level (cleric - spontaneous casting)
I'm pretty sure Cairee has 3 left? She used two on herself when she fell, and then this last one right after Zahra fell.
edit: damn it I thought she got it 6 times a day but it's 5. Stupid Storm Burst is 6. Well friends, let's all try to stop bleeding for the rest of this challenge.
Though if Corey could stop killing us, that would be swell...
Escaping the quicksand is an escape artist roll or CMB roll. Someone can aid the roll (adding 2 to Cairee's roll) if they can get hold of her/get her to grab something, and then make a str roll DC10+.
Tymyhty didn't see the point of mentioning it, since at that point it had already grapped a target and I thought it'd be unlikely to let Cairee loose just because someone shouted at it loudly from a distance ;^)
Hey everyone. I'm getting a few examples of soft language. "I suppose Tymythy could ..." and no accompanying rolls. I've used Tymythy as an example but he's not the only one. Please don't be afraid to move the story along and give me a roll of some kind.
Prestidigitation to clean someone up will take a few rounds per person. Although it says it cleans 1cubic foot I don't mind stretching that out so that it takes 3rnds per person.
Well, the action is a bit conditional. Since this is a trap-themed place, it'd make sense for Dounia to be first in everywhere. But unless she wants to go forth with soggy sand in her unmentionables, Tymythy can take a look in the meantime.
Will take a look, let us say.
But I was thinking of only looking through the ajar door, without opening it further, so I didn't think any rolls were necessary - he's not looking for traps, just wants to see what the next room looks like.

@Corey: Back in September you had written - If you're carrying equipment beyond armour and weapons then I want a good explanation about why you brought them to what you thought would be a one day party. As for the minor bag of holding - it can have whatever you want in it up to 50lbs. Consider it 50lbs of money you can spend on something you already owned. eg. If Tymythy's climbing kit (the one you got from the gnolls) is in there then the bag has 45lbs of space left.
One caveat: it must be able to fit through the mouth of the bag so no wider than 9"
My question is, in conjunction with Zahra having said that Haseena had taught them to be prepared when they went to the opera, would you be ok with Zahra having her crossbow? Or would it be a flat out no? I'm not overly sure about weapon sizes so I'm not sure if it would have fit in the bag of holding.
Think of the bag as a big coin purse. The mouth of the bag is at most 6” wide. A crossbow of any type (except possibly a hand crossbow with the string drawn back) would not fit.
