Lamenting the fact he froze with indecisiveness at sudden danger-again, like before, Zupon instead tries to turn it into a learning experience.

After taking care of the injured, the party is able to fall back to sleep per the plan, albeit a little less at ease than before.
The morning after brings stiff limbs and various kinks from sleeping on the open road in addition to the mending of torn tissue. Vapor rises with each breath in the hazy sun, the smoldering campfire offering little incentive to leave the bedrolls behind.
Assuming the group stays on a steady path to Swallowfeld, I'll post more when I get the chance. The map needs some tweaking to fit the location, so it'll take a bit longer.

In the morning Zupon awakens, and begins his morning habituals. Setting out his alchemical kit and setting down to create a few usable tools. While offering to the group, "I'm going to brew up some salve, and explosives. I imagine we'd like more salves, than explosives. Once I'm finished, do any of you want to have one to carry in case you're injured away from us?" Settling in to grinding a poltice, "Oh, feel free to throw any food scraps you have into this other pot-the black one, not the copper one. Its easy enough for me to watch over a stew while I work anyway-Thought we could manage up a breakfast with our scraps and some local fauana or flora."
Anyone looking into the pot notices random scraps-herbs, salt stone, and the like- left over from his alchemical works, as well as part of a ration pack. Currently just for Zupon-extending his rations for himself. Survival if required for local scraps to throw in to extend the meal:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Also I can make 3 Items. My usual is 2 salves 1 Imp Fuse Grenade, or 1 salve, 2 imp fuse grenade. Lastly, I can hand out the salve for other folks to use, so if I make 1 or 2, some other folks can carry for emergencies as well
Named for the vast flocks of swallows found here by the first
settlers, Swallowfeld is an isolated place, perched upon the very
edge of civilization. Pressed closely on three sides by the near‐
trackless expanse of the Artfell Forest and bounded to the
south by the Elbewick Rise, the village is a hard, frontier place.
Notable Locations
1. The Wolf’s Head: tavern.
2. Grist Mill
3. Kerensa’s Hold
4. The Crumbled Tower
5. Church of the Father
6. Blacksmith
7. Tryfena’s: Swallowfeld’s trading post.
8. Melor’s House: village reeve.
9. Mellyn Vosper’s House
10. Hovel
"Well, I've never heard of the Church of the Father before, but it looks like this town has a tavern; a safe haven for any caydenite like myself" Xephkiel smiled encouragingly, despite the town's rougher edges. "Let's go inside and plan our next step."

Talking to the Reeve could be approriate later as well; I imagine they keep a going log on dangers in the area.. Someone might have some knowledge of the keep-or those who came before us and if they have come back.
Actually combat is over. I already cleared the map with the rolls; I just didn't have enough time to post.
The dead faces on those 3 wolves was a nice touch. :)
After the wolf attack...
With the battle decisively concluded and both Braggi and Kurian all healed up, Chigao helps out with clearing away the three dead wolf corpses before turning back in to sleep- only this time, the Young Kunoichi makes certain to keep her sheathed sickle nearby within reach.

Chigao, while quietly observing the proceedings, isn't quite sure if she should bring up her own limited ability to heal. It was something that her master had warned her against casually revealing to others as it would put into jeopardy the false rumors (having some distant fey ancestry or having an unfortunate reaction to some strange Thuvian Elixir) that were made to help explain away her unusually colored hair while dissuading others from coming to the false conclusion that she must be some type of "lucky aasimar child". Ultimately, the Young Kunoichi opts to not reveal anything just yet. And it's not like we're near any caves leading underground at the moment...
The next morning...
Awakening to the morrow's morning with a yawning stretch, Chigao will waste no time in re-sharpening her sickle with the whetstone purchased from Kalverro's Outfitters once she's fully awake.

Out of curiosity, how much does the salve or grenade weigh? I think that Xeph has one healing power per day. Chigao also has one CLW per day but it's only usable/castable in caves/underground terrain that's away from urban areas.

The Monring found Andru sitting cross legged on drop cloth he had spread out, with tools laying there as he adjusted and cleaned the various metallic objects he had. He hummed as he worked making sure everything was perfect, before putting everything away and getting up.
Then he started the long walk to Swallowfield.
He muttered Kurian, do you ever wonder where they get these town names? Did someone stumble upon a field full of swallows and said...ahh I will call this town this...or did he get a bout of hay fever and have a hard time swallowing? and why not call it 'town near evil tower? or to abbreviate Eviltowerton. has a ring to it dont you think? he chuckled at his feeble attempt at humor.

Swallowfeld is a village of just over 500 people; Olfden close to 3,300. Swallowfeld is a true frontier settlement; life is not comfortable or easy for those living there. Most of the inhabitants appear to be human, although the occasional non-human can be spotted. All the dwellings adhere to the same basic design, although each varies in size and quality dependent on the owner’s wealth. A small fenced yard lies between the road and the house. Here, chicken scratch about while behind the house
higher fences and a ditch gird a much larger area used to cultivate vegetables and other crops.
The only tavern, the Wolf's Head is a two-story affair; one of the only such buildings in the village. A small stable block and barn comprise the three sides of a small courtyard.
Stepping inside, a heavily bearded man with a thinning crown wearing a fur cloak stands over a roughly carved table, wiping it down. At the sound of customers, he looks up and smiles, "Visitors! Welcome. What brings you to the Wolf's Head?"

Kurian looks askance at Andru.
”Um. I never thought about it. Swallow. Feld. Field of Swallows? Mebbe there were birds here. Or...are...in the right season. The Beast will know.” he adds cryptically.
He looks about at the town, surveying the settlement. He has no particular inclination to
enter the tavern, but heads in with those who do.
”Talking to the Reeve is a good starting place Zupon. Oh, and although you say ale can’t be fresh, it *can* go stale, and warm: not very fresh.” he adds helpfully.
The bearded man pauses for a second as the awkward silence lingers in the air. Puzzled, he looks at the group and asks again, "What brings you to the Wolf's Head?"

Somewhat taken aback by the appearance of the presumably fur-clad proprietor of the Wolf's Head, Chigao fidgets around a bit nervously as she finds herself unsure of what to say; luckily, Xephkiel, seemingly in his right element, is able to put things at ease with an order of these so-called Old Man drinks.
Gratefully taking her Old Man drink with both petite hands with a brief bow given to both the tall Deva and the fur-clad proprietor, the Young Kunoichi lass turns towards the sound of an elder lady making her remarks about local explorations to note the appearance of the matronly woman coming from the kitchen.
Deciding that she should at least address the older ladies' query as the sole female party member of the group, Chigao glances over to Zupon, Kurian, Andru, and Braggi, before replying with, "There is that ruined tower by the town that we noticed upon arriving here, unless it's already being used as a guard tower..." to the elder matron with a respectful bow.

In case the group would prefer more mechanical ways of gathering information, here is what can be learned after about 4 hours at the inn:
Rumor Gathering:
Beryan Teague, the Bailiff, has lived here for several years and does a good job keeping us safe. She is very reticent over her
past, but I’ve heard she’s got a horrible black, claw‐life scar on one shoulder.
Tryfena drives a really hard bargain, but she can afford to – there aren’t any other traders in the village. If you
want anything see her. If she doesn’t have it, she’s got contacts all over the coast who can get most things given enough
time and coin.
Bandits lurk in the ruins of the Shadowed Keep; led by a vicious she‐devil
they rob and murder those using the nearby roads.
Ex‐soldiers and thieves make up their ranks.

Chigao will bring up our interest in Ironwolf Keep to the Tavern-keepers Maban and Bleja unless prevented otherwise by the other party members. Just let me know if it's okay via ooc here. :)
After clarifying about the old caved in tower being currently abandoned or not plus revealing the party's interest in Ironwolf Keep (unless prevented otherwise, of course- in that case, Chigao will keep things vague about searching for adventure) to Bleja, Chigao will also add, "We were hoping to speak to the Reeve; would the hold atop that hill be the Reeve's residence? Come to think of it, we might also wish to speak with the Bailiff Teague as well."
Basically, a prompt to get us all to the Reeve and/or Bailiff. ;)
After a moment's consideration and a sip of her Old Man drink, Chigao will inquire, "We also might be interested in finding lodgings for the night- if there's anyplace available for it."
Potential free lodgings at the tower, if abandoned and not in use by the town?

As the day moves into the early evening, villagers begin to migrate their way into the tavern. Maban greats each of them with a warm welcome.
Almost all the villagers wear homemade rough wool or linen clothes. Men wear coarse tunics and long stockings as well as thick sheepskin cloaks. Women tend to wear long dresses and stockings. Most clothes are of brown hue or other drab color such as ochre, sienna or gray. Everyone wears wooden clogs or shoes made of thick leather.
Standing out from the rest is a corpulent man wearing a wine‐stained jerkin that stretches over his immense belly. A goatee frames his mouth and thick, lank red hair tumbles over his shoulders.
Xephkiel isn't being stealthy about it. He sees it as his divine right to root out evil. I'll leave it for the DM is he wishes to make some visual cue, like glowing eyes, whatever.

@Nathan: The secret to low level caster gameplay is that you shouldn't be using a spell every round; or even every combat. It's also a decent rule that blasting spells really aren't worth it at low levels.
Your energy ray does the same average damage as a Light Crossbow bolt (less than a Heavy Crossbow), and those aren't nearly as limited. I wouldn't sweat it too much that you're out of PP.
If you wanted pewpew blasts to be your primary method of attack even at low levels, for Psionics a Wilder might have been a better choice, since they can shoot at-will.

Low level caster play is definitely a lot of non-casting. AD&D casters had 1d4 HP and a single spell... so it has gotten better though. Lean on your ranged weapon and/or get creative with alternative actions such as aid another, using the environment, etc.

Yep. Since Cable cant use his TP/TK powers without physically hurting himself. He's using his "universe changing powers" to hold back his nano virus. Its supose to be unstopable but he's frozen it using his powers 24/7 on it. So he rarely uses his powers outside of emergencies due to his worry of the nanites getting out of hand.
So he's got big guns. and some are powered with his TK too though.
It looks like some of his games are starting to have concerns as well.
Sadly, I don't know if there's a way to definitively find out, but it's not looking good.

I am glad you & the family made it through; the first person I dated here in Mexico City did not. Was really hard. 3 months in the hospital is no joke tho, wow.
He also wasn't always a TK, or the son of Jean Grey from the future. He was just some ludicrously overmuscled dude with a bunch of guns that Rob Liefeld made for Image comics, same as Deadpool.

Certainly so. although I don't remember much use of his powers back then. I think he still had the virus from strife?
On a side note as we wait for Chigao, I plan on having everyone level up after this floor/1st rest, so everyone can use the time to do some planning. Party drops/additions are kind of messy, so I'm treating this as a milestone advancement which will make xp tracking easier moving forward.
Sounds pretty good to me to go with the milestoning stuff. :)
May stick with further advancement in the current Kunoichi/Ninja class; should I go with the Ki stat being based off the Wis or the Cha Stat [like Paizo's actual Ninja class]?
The Kunoichi class doesn't specifically define the Kunoichi Ki Stat as being Cha based though and the Play Manga D20 ruleset does seem to label all the Ki power-set being based off of the Wis stat.
@Zupon: It didn't actually eat your post, it's just that sometimes it doesn't show the post when you refresh. If you look at the bottom right corner where it says "recent threads" in whatever section you're posting in it will show that the post went through, it's just that everyone but you can see it.

This time I even went to my own posts and checked my latestes posts and it did not show. In recent threads it also did not show. In my mobile which isn't logged into paizo it didn't show.
Only showed up after the second posting. but then woudlnt' let me delete so I just gave up on it.
Which is one of the reasons PbP on Discord is like a thousand times easier. Never have platform issues. Never have editing issues. Never unable to delete stuff in your own game. Browser refresh issues? Really?
It's a matter of the format. Too easy for everything to get jumbled. It's like plying over AIM, and forums evolved in part to be a superior alternative to that lol.

I hate dice rolling and dislike discord formatting myself.
I do like having it to supplement pbp out of forum discussions. Etc. Allows for more interplayer chat. But dislike the actual game on it.
Except for their server stability i like how easy paizobcross reference is. And the format options.

Maybe I was just lucky to get into a game that showed me a good format, and then I refined for my own campaigns. I do admit that learning a new syntax took some work, but I also have the whole thing much much more organized. Every player has a chanel, I am never searching for their data. Die rolls are separated, we have a bunch of guidelines on posting ... lol and I am never dealing with Paizo's wonky tech issues.
I so also see that it could suck if not organized though.
I guess the limits here become an inherent benefit with that.
I dislike Discord for it being another privacy sucking, screw end user rights piece of software. That and the overall format is obnoxious. I wasn't too impressed with the play by discord games, and I hate having to micro manage my notices for the channels I'm in or be spammed into oblivion.
I have had to use it a lot to play GTFO and for voice options for Roll20; it beats out the native applications for voice.

In this case I think either is fine. Sure, it can be used to reduce MAD stats, but in your case it's only a +1 difference, so it's not truly being used to min/max to the point of abuse.
Wouldnt Zupon's medical aid reduce it to only one failed save? He rolled a 10 on his second save, and Zupon would boost it to a 14. If the DC is only 11, that passes.

I sure want to try GTFO sometime. wonder if my PC can do it.. but sure looks fun
It's a great game if you like co-op stealth games that can be souls-like in difficulty. Nothing like investing 2 hours to clear a stage only to blow it with a bad pull and have to start over. I like the use of the console in-game, emulating command line for pulling up things like re-establishing connections. It adds to the immersion.

Yes, that is true. Just take the first 2 damage rolls then...

Yeah, I have noticed lately in the past few weeks, that the Paizo message boards would not have the most recent postings showing up until after a few minutes [or so] has passed. Minor Edit: Seems to be a lot more better today though- mebbe some of the more recent windows/browser updates has helped things along somewhat.

I'd probably love that. Much like I liked Back 4 Blood. But as with that, the lack of coop folks I know deny my playing it much. PLaying with Randoms tends to be either awesome or utterly horrible depending on their attitude type.
Does GTFO have controller options? I don't really play with keyboard and mouse much due to my main job being so heavily used.
There are settings for a game pad, although I haven't tried them. Mouse and keyboard are my preferred input for FPS. You just can't get the sensitivity control from a joystick.
Couldn't really add much to the discussion about Discord since I've never used it at all... but it is the first time that I've heard of it being compared to AOL's AIM which I have used in the distant past- way back in the day; always thought Discord was something more like a Twitch channel before this conversation was made. ;)

I loved AIM haha. way back when.
also first ever charcter who does not carry kunai nor a crowbaw. I thought my kit came iwth one but it apparently did not!
Pathfinder's Kit 12gp 22lbs This kit consists of a backpack, a bedroll, a belt pouch, a clay mugUE, a dagger, two fishhooks, a flint and steel, a sewing needle, a signal whistle, 50 feet of stringAPG, 50 feet of thread, a week’s worth of trail rations, a waterskin, and a whetstone. For Small creatures, the weight of a Pathfinder’s kit is 7–1/2 pounds. Leaving the bedroll and rations at camp or on a mount reduces the weight by 12 pounds for Medium creatures and by 3 pounds for Small creatures.
I do have an everburning torch and pitons. if we really wanted to. hammering pitons in would likely work out
also cherry bombs and bottled lightning which together would likely work. Would be out of aoe's till i make more (takes 15min or 30 if both).

Apologies for the belated postings over on my end- been busy with RL stuff and all.
Still having the delayed posting bit on the message board although it's really only noticeable with each initial new posting.
One way to tell if your post does go through [but is on 'delay' mode], is to check on the recent threads part directly below the posting area/box; the updated thread will show with your username listed in the relevant thread that you've posted in. :)
PS. prolly takes a few minutes to be visible for regular viewing; subsequent editing of the previous posting goes much faster too. Might be some kinda new-fangled, anti-babaji device for all we know. ;p

Sounds like it would work to open the chain, Zupon. I also know what you mean about the inflexibility [but more cheaper savings] of the various kits; ended up choosing Chigao's kit trait as a last minute time-saving device myself. ;)
I want to see the results of the torch toss before I take my own action, if possible. It's the kind of thing that could wildly change how the current combat is laid out.

Had not rolled previously for this; forgot when we woke up this morning.
craft alch:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17 if it gets to dc 25 they're stronger. if not they're basic.
Unless I'm missing something, there is never any reason to target a square with your Cherry Bomb. If it has a knockdown/Trip effect those usually trigger on strike, not on splash (eg. Force Bombs from Alchemist). If not, it's not going to knock the thing off the ceiling anyway, so you're just deliberately reducing your damage to 1 for no benefit.

Mechanically nope. But Zupon is over thinking it. Zupon was aiming more at the actual area and webs still trying ot knock it down.
Also. if I miss, it could go quite bad for us given the height of the celing, the range increment and such.
Zupon did what he did. and until he gains more experience he'll do things like fire a lightin bottle at a chain. or blow up the webs.
Cinematically it's fine. It makes more sense if they were still on the ceiling, but trying to cause a cave-in (theoretically) could work. Unfortunately the bombs don't do enough to break up the stone ceiling, though.
