Race: Dwarf
* Iron Citizen: Dwarves with this racial trait gain a +2 bonus on Diplomacy and Sense Motive checks, and Diplomacy is a class skill for such dwarves. This replaces stability.
* Stoic Negotiator: Some dwarves use their unwavering stubbornness to get what they want in negotiations and other business matters. They gain a +2 racial bonus on Bluff, Diplomacy, and Profession (merchant) checks. This racial trait replaces defensive training, hatred, and stonecunning.
(And because this is just for fun...iron citizen is an untyped +2 bonus, while stoic negotiator is a +2 racial bonus, therefore I'm saying that they stack!)
Traits
* Emphatic Diplomat: Wisdom for Diplomacy
* Trustworthy: +1 Diplomacy and +1 Bluff to deceive, diplomacy class skill
Class: Cavalier Order of the Flame VMC Magus
Str (15) Dex (12) Con (14) Int (11) Wis (14) Cha (8)
Feats Lvl 1: Mounted Combat, Ride-by-Attack, Skill Focus Diplomacy
Skills: Diplomacy: +13
Chad Thunderlance is a dwarf with potential. If he can survive past his own towering ego, he will be the kind of cavalier that bards sing songs about and who leaves progeny in every town and city he travels in. That isn't to say that he isn't on his way there. This is a dwarf who, rather inexplicably, has all of the success when it comes to wooing women and making people believe that he is already a legend. Whether he ever lives up to his own legend is up to fate. He is also the person who taught Ardan most of what he knows about being a knight. It was certainly a good look for him to take a naive centaur under his wing to teach him the ins and outs of how a knight should act and how to get by in human culture.
Luckily for everyone involved, the dwarf's personality did not rub off...
----
Feats: Lvl 3 (arcane pool) Lvl 5 (spirited charge) Lvl 6 (vital strike) Lvl 7 (flamboyant arcana) Lvl 9 (furious focus) lvl 11 (spellstrike feat tax) lvl 12 (improved vital strike) lvl 13 (improved critical lance) lvl 15 (arcane deed precise strike) lvl 16 (greater vital strike)
Therefore, at lvl16, when he challenges someone and uses arcane pool...(assuming Str20 due to a +2 Str belt and +2 gear in general. Except for his +6 Cha belt, which most of his money will go into)
To Hit Charging: +16 (BaB) + 5 (Str) + 2 (magic lance) + 3 (arcane pool) + 4 (Cavalier Charge) +1 (weapon focus) = +31 to hit
Damage: 3d8 (lance) + 5 (Str) + 2 (magic lance) + 3 (arcane pool) + 16 (challenge) + 8 (dwarf FCB) + 16 (precise strike) = 9d6+150 (due to spirited charge giving him x3 damage)
So when Chad charges, it is 9d6+150 damage. If he gets a critical hit (19-20, then he does 27d6+450 damage. Which is enough to one-shot a great wyrm red dragon.
And, of course, at lvl16 he will have +31 diplomacy. Because he is Chad.
Sorry, couldn't help it. But I hope you all like Chad. :)

Well, I enjoy statting things up. :)
And people really quit their job...over an election? Wow. I just don't get that. Why hurt yourself and your family over someone who doesn't even know your name. :P

How's that work for everyone? If we get attacked from behind we'll be scrambling to reorder, but it could be ok?

Technically Rhiannon should scout in front. She has ok Perception, has a pretty neat fly speed that she hopefully keep her out of trouble, and a +19 Stealth modifier so hopefully she can stay hidden as she scouts ahead at a quick movespeed.
As for positioning, Rena doesn't care where she stands. She has Burning Hands prepared as her lone offensive spell though (and is primarily melee) she probably prefers to be closer to the front to avoid friendly fire and such considering how narrow the tunnel is.

If you all could. Would you please post your header in a similar format to Rena or Sprig?
Race, class, level | HP: x/x | AC: {modified AC), T:FF:|CMD: | Fort: Ref: Will: | Init: | Perc: | vision types (lowlight, darkvision, blindsense et) Active conditions:
It doesn't have to be an exact match, just a way to quickly see more "crucial" elements of the character.
| Catherine Linchester |
Studying the crystal is very much appealing to Cathrine, but the potential of one going boom is a bit risky at lvl 1.
I have +8 on both kn arcana and kn engineering.
Thoughts?

please understand, I won't have placed anything in here that would outright kill a character in one go. That is for after level 1. This is largely a way to help give the party some actual background together, help me get back into the swing of PbP Gming (I've noticed a couple of things I do in my face to face games that don't work particularly well in this format already) and as a way to give a little more world tidbits... and help me get a feel for the players.
The worst that could happen is some extra damage, and/or possibly a fireworks display if they would go off, or a tunnel collapse which may force you to backtrack or spend extra time and energy trying to dig through, or... well you get the idea.
Now that said, there is danger. As with the scorpions, many bad rolls could have infact left characters in a really bad situation. So, don't just assume you get a free pass ;)

Hey all. I'm going to need to take a little time away from the boards. I probably won't be back until after the new year. Some personal things have come to a head in my life and I need to take care of those and myself.
Don't worry, I'm alright. I'm in good health, well physically anyway. I'm working on the mental and emotional side of things. Part of that means taking a break from this and focusing on me and improving myself. I hope to be back soon, but I don't know how soon soon is. I will be back, though.
Hope all of you have a merry Christmas and a happy New Year. I'll catch ya in 2021.

HP: +10
Saves: +1 Fort/Ref
BaB: +1 (+1 regular, +2 with devastating infusion)
Bonus Feat: Rapid Shot (devastating infusion only)
Class: Shroud of Water (Armor!)
Due to burn, HP is effectively 19. But have AC22, so should be pretty tanky. Now just need to survive to lvl3 to get a range greater than 30ft!
Offense, now have a choice between +6 Touch with 1d6+4 cold damage, or +4/+4 with 1d8+6 physical.

Basically from Recruitment:
HP: Max every odd level(including first) and roll every even level. You can roll no lower than a 3. (1-2 HD rolls count as a 3)
I'm not sure if this holds true still (since iirc most of us preferred Con + 1 in the subsequent discussion, so I rolled anyway just in case.
I think the idea was to overall have higher HP since every odd level is max hp and every even level you either get average HP or a little more?
