GM - Magic Officer role also takes place during the Engineering phase, just FYI

While Mech Coy powers up the engines, Desha reaches out through the bonds of mystical energy that permeate all things to get a read on what kind of capabilities these drones have. She spreads an array of virtual harrow cards and tries to read their meaning.

    Scrying - Mysticism: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15

    Scrying (Engineering Phase):
You employ a substantial form of divination, such as dealing from a digital harrow deck, reading the future by interpreting the splatter of leaking coolant on your ship, or visually scanning the readouts of your starship’s myriad screens to pull deeper and predictive meaning from the lights and sounds around you. This functions as the scan science officer action, but you attempt a Mysticism check instead of a Computers check. For information about the effects of a successful scan action, see page 325 of the Core Rulebook.

Thanks for the heads up, my quickpost hasn't been updated yet.  Fixing that now

As quick as the drones move, the Starfinders are even faster!  The captain pushes to give'em hell and strike hard as  Dr. Mech Coy gives the ship a boost, perfect to avoid the pincer.

Patrick scries on the enemy drone, but he can't get much.  it's a tiny fighter drone with no crew.  Looks like it's got a speed of class 12 and good maneuverability.

The drones work in tandem, flying evasively towards the Starfinders. Both drones also open up with tactical nukes:

    Red Gunner: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15 MISS
    Blue Gunner: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24 LOCK

Two missiles come hurtle towards the Drake one was clearly dodged, the other gets a lock!

Desha feels the drones move around and begin to surround the Drake. Thinking it might be helpful to gain a little distance from them, she tries to channel her power into the ship's weapons to grant them greater range.

    Eldritch Shot: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31

[spoiler=Eldritch Shot (Engineering Phase, Push)]You augment a starship weapon with a burst of your personal magic in much the same way that weapon fusions augment personal-scale weapons. Such an effort is considerable, and the magic lasts for only a single attack before it fizzles and the starship weapon returns to its normal functionality. Choose one weapon on your starship to augment and attempt a Mysticism check (DC = 10 + 1-1/2 × your starship’s tier). If you succeed, the gunner treats the range of that weapon as 5 hexes longer than normal. This does not work for weapons with the point special property. [/dice]

I am very confused by the above update. I don’t think I’ve rolled for Round 2.
Also for clarity, could you please note in the update which arc is hit each time there is a hit. The ships move so it is difficult to understand exactly what happened if you didn’t see the map at exactly the right time.

    TRUSTY ROUND TWO

Although Trusty would love to nothing better than to finish the job with Red and sweep it into the trash, the conscientious maintenance bot realizes that you don't have to fix something that doesn't get damaged in the first place. He aligns the ship to be outside of both Red and Blue's firing arcs.

"So Reaper, you can totally broadside Blue now if you'd like. Meanwhile... Does anyone else want to take our Port guns and try to finish off Red? I think that would be tactically optimal, don't you? Let's make a clean sweep here!"

A secondary gunner on the Port guns might be a fine thing this round.

Not having any instructions to the contrary, Patrick decides to put the weapon lock onto the drone's engines.

A burst of light accompanies the destruction of the first drone. The rush of victory is short lived, as two more of the furious machines immediately engage. The First Seeker’s abruptly speaks through the ship’s comm unit, “Don’t lose hope, Starfinders. Your friends have messages for you. I’m patching the first transmission through now.”

The upbeat voice of Zo! blares through the speaker. “Greetings, future mega-celebrities! My studio just released the uncut edition of your episode of Pact World Warriors. I’ve got enough fan mail here for you to create another Liavarian moon.” Zo! clears his throat and begins reading from the fan submissions.

“I heard you saved AbadarCorp execs on Castrovel from dangerous wildlife. Did you prepare a meal afterward just like in the Combat Cooking Extravaganza? You and Zo! should open a restaurant and call it Live Ingestion Extreme!”

“I looooooooved your season, oh em gees! Starfinder merch when? Just take my credits already!”

“It’s me, your biggest fan in the Veskarium. Here’s some pics of my pet squox’s litter. I hope it’s okay that I named them after you.”

“I’m only six, but I want to be a Starfinder when I grow up. How do I join?”

Zo! stops reading and remarks, “They’re all cheering for you. Oh, and if you take footage of your ongoing battle, I’d be happy to use that as promotional material for the release. Call me!”

The crackle of static signals another incoming transmission. “Hello! Can you hear me?” asks a timid voice. “I’m Riika. You probably don’t remember me, but I’m one of the kiriintas you helped on Stabrisis-14. You inspired me to visit the Pact Worlds. I love it here. I even got a job as a researcher for an expedition studying the flora of the Liavaran moons. I came to Absalom Station on my vacation to personally thank you for expanding my horizons. I want you to know that even though I heard some nasty rumors about the Starfinder Society, I don’t believe any of them.”

Dr. Mech Coy, another paste error on my part. I'm trying to have a repository for the quick posts where I have all the formatting set out (size, bold, etc.) in order to try and make it cleaner. I guess the downfall is that I'm sometimes pasting the wrong one. The issue isn't yours. Your posts are fine. Will answer your other question in this post.

Patrick had been ignoring all the incoming messages as nearly all of them referenced missions he hadn't been on or he had figured his role was too insignificant to matter. Sometimes being a Starfinder was just a job and someone had to do it.

But then Riika's call came in and Patrick realised in this case he had made a difference. He remembered Strabrisis-14 well. This was the planet that Datch had been dropping weapons on in order to turn a skirmish into full out war. Usually Patrick stayed in the background doing his 'thing' and not interacting much with other people as he had several social anxieties, especially when it came to the females of his own or related species.

But the Kiriinta had been different. Maybe it was because they were smaller and non-humanoid, and hence not seen as a threat but Patrick had been able to relax around them. And yes, he did remember Riika as a rather inquisitive and highly intelligent Kiriinta who was very curious about the Pact Worlds and Patrick was only too happy to answer them. Long intellectual conversations had taken place on the trip back to the Pact Worlds and Patrick discovered he actually enjoyed the company of another sentient being.

Circumstances got in the way though and he lost contact with the Kiriinta. He couldn't even remember if Riika was male or female but that didn't seem to matter at the time. But after hearing that call. he resolved to regain that contact and thank the Kiriinta for their words.

No worries, we're having COVID emergency meetings this week, I wouldn't have caught it anyway. I'm currently NOT focusing on my meeting, but I don't want the table to be slow, hence super fast post. Good thing Reaper nailed it!

Reaper's point blank shot caps off Trashbot's fancy flying. A second explosion rocks the vicinity as the Starfinders take out the second drone!

You've got a few moments to breath before the next waves breaks off. Will post update in an hour or so if someone wants to reset the map, doing that from my phone is a nightmare.

As far as I can determine we did not take any damage. If I missed it, Dr. Mech Coy would work on fixing things and restoring shields between drone waves.

    Trusty Trashbot Initiative: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (10) + 20 = 30

Trusty motions the drones to move first. "Really, after you!"

The confident tones of Firstsight Taksta, the leader of Zeyther-3’s quarantined settlement saved by the Starfinders several months ago, interrupts the radio silence. “I’m eternally thankful for what you and the lovely Dr. Monsylkis did for Glimmershield. Your efforts stopped the spread, and as a result, our gutmelt casualties were few. Even as we mourn our fallen friends, we know how many more of us would have perished without treatment. You risked your own lives to help us when the corporations refused. We might just be a backwater mining outpost, but Zeyther-3 is on your side no matter what.”

A final transmission echoes through the bridge of the battlescarred starship. This time, a low voice punctuated by insectile clicks addresses the Starfinders. “This is emissary Jontane of the formians on Castrovel. Your actions at the Meeting of Queens left a lasting impression on my colony. I rarely leave the collective, but I decided to make the trip to Absalom Station to observe one of your traditions—the elevation of your newest First Seeker. I had hoped to reunite with you there, but I was informed you’re away on an important mission. Please remain efficient and safe until we meet again.”

Bright explosions bloom as drones disintegrate into scrap metal. But for each enemy craft that falls, two more take its place. The dozens of remaining craft dart and buzz through the fray like a nest of angry hornets kicked by a foolish intruder. Suddenly, Steadfast releases an electrical pulse, and all surrounding drones simultaneously power down. The defensive barrier disappears, offering a direct path to the orbital complex’s docking bay.

    Striking Back is now Complete

A massive specialized EMP generated by the Stewards’ vessel Steadfast disrupts the remaining drones allowing you to enter Datch’s orbital hideout.
“Excellent work, Starfinders!” Luwazi Elsebo’s voice echoes through the comm units on each Starfinder ship simultaneously. “The Steadfast and the other Stewards will fall back and keep any remaining drones busy. Starfinders, you are authorized to use whatever means you deem necessary to neutralize the threat Datch presents to the Society and the Pact Worlds. Please act with consideration and be careful.”

Table GMs, end your current encounter.

Inside the landing dock, an elevator’s doors stand open in invitation. Pleasant music plays as the lift travels down into the bowels of the complex. The doors part and reveal the interior of the orbital complex, an upscale but otherwise mundane office building. A wide, well-lit hallway bisects this floor, and all doors stand open to allow easy passage.

An office comes into view at the end of the hall. Datch sits atop a desk and smiles. She tilts the shiny red apple she’s holding and speaks. “Welcome, and well played. I’d say I’m pleased to see you, and while I respect you, I most certainly am not pleased.” She sighs and takes a bite of her apple. “Your Society single-handedly ruined my plans. I worked so hard. You really have no idea. Ah well, such is the nature of the game. So, what’s your next move?”

Datch levels a piercing gaze at the intruders, but the polite smile never leaves her lips.

Table GMs, you may begin Part 4.

You murdered my friend Verity-5, and then had the nerve to lay the blame for your crime on the Starfinders. You've dragged our names through the mud, stolen our munitions, and then used those munitions to force a bunch of primitive sentients into a war. You've laid traps, you've caused problems. You denied medicines to the sick in a pandemic." Trusty looks at her, and then says, "You know what my move is? I'm here to take out the TRASH, and that's you. Datch, I've been to the shadow plane. I know the dirty secret of your training. And my guess is that once you're secure in a holding cell, Silent Shrike will send his goons after you. Just think. They're going to come for you... And you'll never know when they'll strike. You'll have to live in fear and confusion, trapped in a cell where you won't get any apples, ever."

"This is a citizen's arrest. Datch, I charge you with slander, war crimes, sabotage, theft, corporate corruption and murder." Trusty pulls out a set of manacles. "You have the right to remain silent. Anything you do or say may be used against you in a court of law." He looks to the rest of the group. "Let's secure her computer too. There may be important evidence there."

This room is an ordinary office decorated sparsely in a modern style. A semicircular desk positioned in front of a large screen faces the double doors to the west. A worn brass statue of a rat perched on its hind legs adorns the northwestern corner. Offerings of fruit, crackers, and cakes are heaped at the base of the statue, and its outstretched paw seems to beckon for more.

"So then, you're going to arrest me? You see this is why I've defeated you every step of the way. You should kill me. Have you not learned from me Trashy? Have I not been a mentor Coy? Ah well, if that's what it is, then that's what it is. I shall come along."
