GM Badblood's Scions of the Sky Key - Part III - The Golden Guardian (Inactive)

Game Master Lance K

This thread will be used for the Scions of the Sky Key series, which is a 1st Edition Pathfinder scenario series which consists of three parts that are meant to be played in order. This will be a Pathfinder Society game, which means that the players need to follow PFS rules regarding character building and will receive a chronicle sheet after completing each part.

The Dragon's Demand

So the last two times I ran this, there was somebody in the party who eagerly ran ahead and got tangled up in this trap. But with a party of so many ranged strikers, you all kind of negated their tactics...

So no one saw it for the excellent ambush site it was? Surprising.

I would hate to be the piñata in this trap!

Earlier in her career, Laafdahni would've sauntered across just to keep the party moving. That almost got her killed once, but one of the other characters (2 levels higher than her) rescued her. Now she's a lot more cautious.

By the way... My posting from Sunday-Wednesday of next week may be spotty. Or it may be unaffected. I have no idea, but figured I'd give you a heads up.

The Dragon's Demand

Alright, I'm going to submit the application. Since the timing is right, we might as well participate for the boons. I also left a sixth slot open for the purpose of recruiting someone who is missing parts of the series and I'll try to recruit for that.

Yes. I just registered part 3 of a three-parter that is also starting around next week (edit: lol, 9-06 ... I forgot you were in that game!). Be sure to set the Recruitment to Closed as soon as it shows up in the sheet.

Tyranius also confirmed you don't have to start on September 1 (but you can't start earlier).

Sovereign Court

The Dragon's Demand

Well, we might start a day or two late to give anyone a chance to level up, but I feel like you guys might get through this by the end of the week. If guys could do me a favor, try condensing the initiative by taking out the kobolds that are in between your turns in order to speed things up a bit.

Also, if your turn is coming up and you don't think what the enemies do would affect your actions, you can announce your actions in advance if you'd like.

Would it take an action to try and get the miners moving away from danger?

I don’t know if the one on the alter is tied there or not,but the ones huddled in the corner don’t have any enemies threatening them. They could go through the south gap in the wall without encountering a kobold.

Are the prisoners bound in some way, preventing them from running?

Sovereign Court

The Dragon's Demand

Ah, someone is finally asking about this! They have ropes around their hands, but they're feet aren't bound. Right now they're passively watching the fight, but you can try to rally them with an Intimidation or Diplomacy check. It is a full round action to do so.

Hello everyone, GM Badblood invited me to this game and I am very much looking forward to join you guys.

I have two available characters.

- A Dwarven Cleric 2 of Shelyn
- A Wayang Gunchemist 3

Which character would fit better into the game?

Thanks and have a great week!

Here is the char sheet in the profile and his background below.

BACKGROUND –– :

Jangafzaar is a Dwarf from a Kelish merchant family that always felt that love escapes his grasp.

His low self-esteem made him an easy target a bullies in society and his grumpy nature did not help to bring love nearer to his heart.

After a decade of seeking true love he found Almira, a dwarven lady from a Janderhoff with whom he was supposed to have two daughters ... when Almira, Jangafzaar's true love, and his unborn children died during a raid on their caravan by petty goblins Jangafzaar was devastated for a full year.

On the anniversary of his families death ... when his love for them almost drove him to suicide a sign of the The Eternal Rose brought the memory of his family back to him! Jangafzaar truly believes that Shelyn showed him how important love is ... and how much it can be connected to loss.

From this day onward Jangafzaar promised to follow Shelyn and to do everything in his power so that those that love can continue to love - and those seeking to take away love from them are punished with all his might!

Jangafzaar now continues to work as a merchant and can be a stoic negotiator with an empathic approach. He is very perceptive and understands people's motives which is very important to him as a cleric and merchant.

He typically wears light armor and during battle tries to use support his companions or let his summoned creatures attack.

Jangafzaar's family has deep roots in the Exchange faction of the Pathfinder Society.

Thus, the Kargar brothers Almaas, Jangafzaar, Toral and Sadaf are all members of the Pathfinder Society.

Judging from the first section, there is a reasonable chance that we will again be traveling through hot, steamy jungles. We have a couple of people with wands of Endure Elements to help with that,

Dangers in the first part included Kobolds and Undead. Protection from Evil, Shield of Faith or another protective spell for Bask (who always gets into the middle of it) would likely save healing.

If you are feeling more aggressive, Command would have helped in the Kobold fight. Make one of them flee so we can concentrate on the rest. Your Wisdom is high enough to make the DC very respectable.

If we get another set of warnings about ghouls, a scroll of Remove Paralysis could be a game changer.

I will get chronicle sheets out to you as quickly as I can. You'll be able to make purchases in between this scenario. This was high tier, so you'll either be getting 1,194 gp or 1,872 gp. I've been busy this week, so I'm a little behind.

Jangafzaar Kargar, you can jump in anytime. You will be going to the Kaava Lands on the next scenario. Without knowledge checks, it is reasonable that your characters would expect to encounter jungle terrain, high temperatures, dangerous forest creatures, and gripplis but more specific information will be coming soon!

Jangafzaar, at the beginning of the series, we made a pact. Someone bought a wand of endure elements and covers the whole party. In return, Bocke bought a wand of bless and uses it at the beginning of combat.

There are lots of good spells to get on a scroll or wand because they don't depend much in your level to be effective. Air bubble, touch of the sea, obscuring mist, silent image, comprehend languages, mount, enlarge person and protection from evil to name a few. You also might have the game to get a cloak of protection +1. Boring but it's usually the first magic item I pick up.
