Dvian peers over their shoulders to see what the big fuss is about over the box. "You think it is trapped since the spear was there?" He asks, trying to learn.
GM Silbeg
|
Gideon determines the box is definitely locked. He goes on to pick the locks, and succeeds with stunning results! Inside is 31sp, and a mummified elf hand hanging on a golden chain, its gnarled fingers locked in a peculiar pattern. You identify this after 10 minutes of study as a hand of the mage.
picking: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Note, please take time to look over the "loot" sheet and choose what you are taking. I personally don't care what method you use for dividing the loot, though I have found the "take what you can use" and sell the rest, leaving 1 share for the party to work well.
| Edjarha Aivot |
"A gruesome trophy" Edjarha mumbles, examining the mummified hand. "But potentially quite useful." Edjarha has no qualms about wearing/using the mummified hand, though I don't feel at all strongly about him having it if someone else would like it.
GM Silbeg
|
Checking the loot list is also a suggestion to remember some stuff you may have forgotten you have!
| Edjarha Aivot |
As he examines the mummified hand, something of the conversation with the erstwhile Hellknight nags at Edjarha's consciousness. After a moment's careful consideration, he snaps his fingers and quickly digs through his pack, emerging with the Hellknight insignia the party found earlier. I have no memory of us finding an intact insignia, and I'm not having much luck finding it, but it is listed on the sheet (without a location).
"I've just remembered," Edjarha addresses Alak, holding out the insignia. "We found this somewhere in our explorations. Perhaps not a relic, but it might be of interest to you. We also found the remnants of some records a few rooms back, now that I think of it."
| Davian Runegleam |
Davian beams. "Good idea! Of course they belong to you Alak." He is eager to see the Hellknight reaction. "We didn't mean to seem like we were stealing them of taking it like some sort of trophy."
GM Silbeg
|
insignia were found here!
Alak seems truly surprised when Edjarha pulls out the insignia. ”No, of course not, Davian! Thank you, I will bring these back with me when I return to the Fortress of the Nail.”
He looks at the insignia, and continues. ”As a matter of fact, this was exactly the type of thing I was referring to. Perhaps you thought I meant the finger bone of an ancient Hellknight, or some magical sacred implement, but this is what I meant. The things that the armigers and Hellknights would use on a daily basis. What my parents would have used. ”
He carefully smooths out the cloth insignia, pulls out a large ledger, and places them inside the book, inscribing some notes, before looking back up to you all.

Alright, the work week/month of hell is finally over. New Years is done, and most of the hardship involving that is no more.
Ingraham will use the Low Grade Silver Dagger if no one objects to it.
"Rough subject?" Ingraham asks the Hellknight. "Ye don' have to tell if ye don' want to." If silence persists, Ingraham looks to the next door and raises his club, ready to march forward into it.
GM Silbeg

"What? My parents?" asks Alak. "Not particularly."
Seeing everyone getting ready, Alak puts the journal into his pack and readies his sword. "Where would you like me in your marching order?"
GM Silbeg

"Citadel Vraid, of course. Been training since I was your size!"
He moves near the front.
The room to Aragelda's east has rows of long, slender dining tables sit in skewed rows throughout this room. Broken chairs are scattered throughout the chamber, and the entire room has an air of disuse and disarray.
Looks like a mess hall. "But not it is a mess!" comments Alak.
With a little more exploring, you realize that you have cleared out the entire southern wing of the citadel, and you head back out to the courtyard, where it appears there are two options to continue.

Owing to its exposure to the elements, most of the surfaces of this room are covered in moss and vines, including snarls of wild blackberries.
