Brand the Bold

no worries, just wondering. I forget about it most of the time. I’ll check my cmd, probably a couple pts higher.
| Azadi Freeman |
Azadi winces slightly at the sight of one of goblins successfully kicking Brand. Unsure how best to help, but certain something must be done, he raises his free hand and fires a blast of wind at as many goblins as he can line up, hoping to drive them off the dwarf.
bull rush: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
| Thakus |
"Brand!" Thakus tries to beat a path to his ally.
Greatsword Power Attack vs (new) blue: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 6 - 1 = 24

Confirm crit: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 6 - 1 = 9
Damage: 2d6 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 6) + 4 + 3 = 16
If that drops it, I'd like to move into its spot so I'm next to Brand.
| GM Anthorg - RotR |
Oh, sorry mate.
As Brand tries getting up, the goblins continue trying to thrash at him. The goblins that Azadi pushed to the wall get up and join the others.
One more AoO, Brand!
Blue @Brand: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 1 + 2 = 21

Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Light blue @Brand: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

One of the punches actually go towards the dwarf's face, but at the last moment, is deflected by his protective magic.
Party's up!
Brand the Bold

Brand lashes out at the goblins, swinging to and fro, as they continue to swarm him.
One of his swings bites deep and he gives a grim smile of satisfaction.

| Thakus |
Against a seemingly neverending line of goblins between himself and Brand, one at a time, Thakus strikes them down.

"Finally," Brand says as he swings at a fleeing goblin.

Attack of Opportunity, Power Attack: 1d20 + 6 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 6 - 1 = 12
Damage: 2d6 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (3, 4) + 4 + 3 = 14
Thakus tries to swing at the goblin, but it ducks under his sword. Curses!
| GM Anthorg - RotR |
Though weak, they are extremely quick and one of them manages to actually push Thakus and Azadi out of his way runs to the way they just came.
It was extremely odd to that such a small creature would be able to bypass such a large and strong half-orc but maybe the improbability of it all was an element of surprise. The other goblin doesn't manage to run by and instead laughs at Thakus and tries biting him.
Thakus gets an AoO
Light Blue @Thakus: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Damage: 1d3 ⇒ 2
He only bites armor.
Party's up!
Brand the Bold

Brand steps in to assist in putting the remaining goblin down.

Damage: 2d6 + 4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2) + 4 + 3 = 11
Probably hits, but I'll wait to see if that drops it before reacting.
| Thakus |
Ah ok, I thought the one running away was the one I was getting an AoO on.
Thakus wipes the blood off his sword. "Sorry I couldn't dispatch them sooner. I'm still trying to get faster with my strikes."
Brand the Bold

"Alright, let's follow the little beggar and kill him plus any others he gets to join him." Brand says stomping off in the direction the goblin fled.
| Elan Crew |
Elan listens and hearing nothing says "Let's finish looking on this floor before heading down. Why don't we check out the room we found these guys in and see if there is anything useful before checking the room next to it and then the other on this floor." He then heads to the bunk room and begins searching it.

"If there are, I'd hazard they are more scared of us than we need be of them. I think as soon as we are out of the way, anything that can will run for the door. I say we head on down and clear it as we go." Brand submits to the team.
| GM Anthorg - RotR |
There were 3 other rooms upstairs that I forgot, sorry. There's no fight there. One is a food storage with rotting meat from animals and humanoids, another is an armory with goblin crude weaponry and another is the chief's room. Most of the room is just junk, but there's a silver holy symbol of Lamashtu. There's also a large iron key under the pillow.
The underground level of the fort is carved into stone, and Brand notices that is has high quality craftsmanship. This clearly wasn't built by the same builders of the wooden fort above. The wooden staircase awkwardly connects with a stone one. The only wood that can be seen are the doors which have been jury-rigged in place. Down here the ceiling is 8 feet high.
The group descends into a room where a single lantern hangs from a hook on the wall next to where the stairs enter this room from the north. Several rickety doors open into this room, and a few discarded dog pelt rugs lie forgotten in the northeast corner.
There are three doors to the south, one to the west, one to the north and one to the east.
A d10: 1d10 ⇒ 10
Brand doesn't hear anything exceptional, but on the west-most southern door he hears a distinct moaning sound, which can be interpreted as irritation, boredom or inquietude.
Brand the Bold
|
Brand points at the door from which he heard the sound and moves toward it, hammer at the ready. Reaching the door, he makes sure everyone is ready and then quickly opens it with his shielded hand.
| GM Anthorg - RotR |
Dozens of ratty cushions, lumpy pillows, and rumpled dogskin furs lie heaped in the south half of this chamber, which smells of a nauseating mixture of vinegar and rotten flowers.
Brand finds himself facing four female goblins sitting in attempted sexiness and over the top make-up. They look at him and gasp, startled. It seems they were expecting someone else.
Brand the Bold
|
Brand watches for treachery and asks, "Does anyone have a spell that can bar this door?" If the answer is no, which I suspect it is. "Does anyone speak goblin? We need to restrain them or kill them. If not fighting, I'd prefer to restrain them."
Brand the Bold
|
"Tell them to sit back to back so we can tie them up and gag them or we will bash their heads in. Brand says matter of factly.
