I feel like bringing a known enemy of the society into the Grand Lodge would be a huge problem. It may solve our immediate issue, but it not really acceptable for any pathfinder.

Err... does the scenario have any guidelines on handling this without breaking 322 into the Grand Lodge? we are in a public square where any offensive action is not tolerated so I'm guessing we can't just grab the memory engram? is the scenario really shoehorning a bunch of Pathfinders into betraying their organization to the agent of a night hag? and one that is known as an enemy of the Society? Yanndu won't break this person into the Grand Lodge, unless someone has a clever plan to do so without harm to the Society. Can the group bluff that we'll help her, take the engram, and not deliver on the promise?

I'm with the other PCs here - wondering why it feels like the scenario is trying to get us to do something that very much seems like a bad idea. It wouldn't be the first time I've experienced a scenario that just assumes you will do something with terrible long term consequences for the sake of a short term goal.

"There must be another way we can come to an agreement. Sneaking you into the Grand Lodge is... an unacceptable term, to put it as politely as I can. You are kind of being shoe-horned here. The scenario does assume you will either help her or fight her and accept the consequences of that. There was one other option but it closed when you missed a skill check a little while ago. I feel kind of painted into a corner here. Can we just pause for a little moment, I would like to discuss with a more experienced GM and see what the deal is.

Yanndu was afraid that something like this would happen in the City of Axis. Days before their trip to Axis he had made arrangements and made contact with someone who owed him a debt, and instructed her to travel to Axis at her earliest convenience and wait for their arrival. This was the moment to repay that debt.

Using Debt of Shadow boon from Dragon's Demand module

From behind a nearby fountain a barely noticeable shadow figure stretches a hand and carefully liberate the engram from 322's person... and disappears from view!

The opponent makes a Perception check to detect the attempt, opposed by the Sleight of Hand check result you achieved when you tried to grab the item. You cannot use this skill to take an object from another creature during combat if the creature is aware of your presence.

322's face falls and with a look of shock you see a tear begin to make its way down her face. This will be the end of me. Aslynn will see to that

Yanndu casts invisibility and heads towards the rendez-vous location.

He takes the engram, and asks the party to meet him at a great pub on the corner of a busy intersection.

Yanndu:
As you touch the engram you receive a vision from Hao Jin’s past. You see her as a child of perhaps ten, her hair glossy black without a hint of the sorcerer’s signature ruby locks. Hao Jin dances and sings as she explores the wonders of a magnificent museum. She climbs about the displays, enacting mock battles with taxidermied drakes or old suits of armor. As the young Hao Jin climbs atop a suit of ancient Minkaian armor, her foot slips and she grabs at a hanging lantern to steady herself. Suddenly everything is pain and fire, chaos, and then…silence and empty darkness. The silence and empty darkness end suddenly with a burst of pain and a strange pulsating that wracks her entire body. The final scene you sees is a young Hao Jin, her hair now a brilliant shade of red, her small face crumbling into tears as she learns that not only is the glorious museum gone, burned to ash, but her family has spent almost their entire fortune returning the young girl to life. As the scene ends, you are left with a strong, lingering sense of Hao Jin’s regret, as well as her resolve to master the strange new magic burning inside her along with her emotions, so that she is never the source of such a tragedy again.

Yanndu's vision is shared immediately to the entire party via his two active telepathic bonds. Reeling from the vision, Yanndu steadies his thoughts, and transmits the following:

***...what manner of artifact seeded such powers!...this fire burning inside her...could it be the source of the Tapestry's degradation...or could it be the power we need to restore it?...yes!!...she rose back from death...red...like a phoenix...***

The telepathic message fades with other minor ramblings. Yanndu was now convinced that this memory was crucial to Hao Jin's full restoration!

While waiting for the others, Yanndu sits still at a table and orders a fruity drink. After a few sips he closes his eyes and steadies his breath. He then begins to send his mind reeling across space and time on a thread made of bloodlines, life, death and destiny.

Hope this is helpful. I am unfamiliar with that spell so I am hoping this is alright Hao Jin was born in Goka to an Abadaran priestess and a painter who emphasised the importance of order and creativity in her life. She loved exploring the Empress Yin Museum, home to countless relics from Yixing, whose stewards were fond of her but often told her to be more careful around the exhibits. Her recklessness eventually burnt the museum, killing Hao Jin and destroying countless exhibits. Her parents, at great expense, had her resurrected, igniting her talent as a sorcerer.

I am going to assume you all meet up in the tavern. Where to next?

Nothing on the hanging lantern young Hao Jin grabbed hey? I'd say our next location should be wherever the GM feels like running next in order to keep things moving! :)

Nope, as best I can tell it is just a lantern.

You move off toward a travel portal close by and step through. You are deposited on a side-street a short distance from the Hearth-Grown House. The narrow alley is crowded with petitioners, all of whom seem to be heading for a single destination: a large, wooden gate in the twelve foot tall hedge wall that surrounds Chaldira’s divine home. Past the gate is a large, grassy common area surrounded by numerous large and inviting structures that look like the homey country taverns found in Golarion’s more peaceful hamlets and towns. A singing voice accompanied by string instruments and flutes can be heard from within.

Countless chairs and tables are arranged in this large room around a central stage upon which sits a lillend azata singing a wistful song while accompanied by an unusual collection of natives of the Great Beyond playing an assortment of string and woodwind instruments. The air is thick with sweet tobacco smoke and the smell of good food and drink, while the audience of largely remade petitioners watches the singer with obvious enthusiasm.

Pretty good, eh? says a metallic voice just to your left. Emelliana the Muse, that’s the singer, she only comes here to the House when she visits Axis. It’s the only place she’ll perform! Everywhere else is too stuffy, she says.

The voice comes from an ivory-colored kolyarut inevitable with two additional attached arms. She is currently leaning against the back
wall of the room watching the performance. Covered in dozens of small cuts, scrapes, dents, and scorch marks, she is wearing a leather apron long enough to be a skirt and is tapping her foot to the music.

I have placed a picture of her in the slides. She looks cool.

Pooka eyes the inevitable and decides that this one seems to fit the description they had been given. "An inevitable in love with the performing arts? You must be the one we are looking for. Eleven-Sun-Truth described you as eccentric. To my delight it appears she... he... they? are correct. It is a pleasure to meet you, I am Pooka and this is Luna." Pooka bows and indicates his dog when he does.

I didn't want to cut to the chase too fast, in case some banter would be benificial.... Someone else can feel free to add in what we are after if you want. My gut tells me that this will require us performing a task in return for the engram...

The Maker's aura seems to be a little unusual for an inevitable such as herself. There is a tinge of a redness to it, almost as it part of Hao Jin's Ruby Phoenix bloodline has seeped in. She CURRENTLY does not harbour any ill intent toward you or the group and is under no mind affecting spells or similar.

At the mention of the engram all four of The Maker's hands go to the base of her neck, where the engram has been implanted. The engram was placed here to assist me in finding new techniques for my creations. It has been with me for some time. I am loath to part with it
