Hoping he can injure the koi enough for it to surrender Stefan decides to attack with full force.
attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Did this include the -2 from Hypnotic Stare? It wouldn't change any hits since, but future rounds...Thanks. Corrected.
Vozzik is beginning to be concerned his companions aren't going to stay up long enough to take this fish thing out on their own, so he attempts to climb down from the bookcase...
The climb DC is only 5 so the worst that happens on a total roll of 1 is that Vozzik doesn't advance (looses his move action). Had you rolled a 0 or worse then he would have fallen. The second d20 you rolled would have been (and I'm calling it) a success allowing him to move 7.5 feet down the case (climbing is normally done at 1/4 speed) which is close enough that he could just hop down the last couple of feet as a free action.
Swift action - Fervor, heals
If I can still do a standard action - Standard action withdraw, doesn't provoke
All that seems fine.
Xavier gets a crazy look in his eyes and battles through the pain on a wave zeal.
Stefan misses the big scuttling fish creature with his sword this time though you can tell he means business.

I'm not sure if I've acted this round, have I?
No. You can tell by the initiative tracker above. It will have a Round # and your PC's name in bold if you have yet to take your turn. The great thing about Play-by-Post is you can look back, and actually see whether, or not you have taken your actions.
Hoo Hullo
|
Hoo steps forward and looses an arrow at Koi, bracing against the bookshelf and kind of ignoring that Xavier is right in front of her.
longbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
damage: 1d8 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
Xavier "the Drunkard" Elington
|
Hoo can probably just shoot over Xavier's head.
Hoo Hullo
|
Oh, that's exactly what she does. She doesn't acknowledge him in more of a spiritual sense.
| Mistress Koi |
"OW! BRUTOJ! ESPERANTOJ! BLANKAJ-KOLARAJ KRIMOJ! IMPAGAJ ATRIKOJ! MORTIGO SENHEJMAJ!" cries the big fish as Hoo's arrow finds its mark in its flank. Almost instantly though one of the thing's tentacles yanks it free.
Zahd Mullman
|
Zahd racks his mind for a solution for the grodair to peacefully surrender, but is taken aback by the response of Mistress Koi.
"She doesn't seem very keen on diplomacy - we're probably going to have to fight this one out."
Zahd then takes aim once again with his crossbow.
Light crossbow: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 3 + 1 + 1 = 21
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
| Mistress Koi |
Immediately after his arrow strike home Koi shrieks, and squirts a concentrated blast of water at Zahd. This invites an AoO from Stefan.
"MI KONFIDIS VIN! Mi pensas. Atendu Kiu vi estis denove?"
blue water canon v Zahd (range touch, bane, bookself cover): 1d20 + 8 - 1 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 8 - 1 - 4 = 21 damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8 Push?: 1d20 + 11 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 11 - 1 = 13 hit/shoved
The blast hits Zahd like a hammer and knocks him from the bookcase. His body hits the stone tile with a *splash-thunk!*
fall damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Stefan Mariano
|
Seeing Mistress Koi being distracted by Zahd, Stefan takes the opportunity to slip a thrust between her tentacles.
Attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Seeing his attack miss the creature Stefan growls and centers himself. With both hands on his sword he lets out a roar as he puts all his strength into his blow.

Vozzik attempt to use his CLW wand to revive Boomer...
Use Magic Device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13
...to no avail, cursing again in a mixture of Polyglot and Common.
He moves back over to the recently clobbered Zahd and calls out while holding out the wand, "Hoo, can you use this Gods damned thing?"
Xavier "the Drunkard" Elington
|
"I'll be there in a sec!" Xavier shouts, pulling out his own wand and rushing over, tapping Zahd with it.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Well, he should be stable now!

Hoo shouts over her shoulder before firing another shot.
"I think I can use, Xavier seems to have it done though. Still, coming over there."
longbow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

She get's briefly excited at the accuracy of her attack before grimacing at the lack of effect and retreating to near Xavier.

Koi bellows and flails uselessly at Stafan, as the gods of chance once more smile upon him allowing him to elude the blows that have felled so many of his fellow party members.

Just so you know inflicting 0 (or less) damage with an attack because of a Str penalty always results in 1 point of nonlethal damage (before things like DR kick in).

To which Vozzik will add 2 precision damage!
She looks back at Vozzik and shouts.
"The wand, give me!"
Vozzik drops the wand on top of Zahd, looks quizzically at Xavier, saying "Thanks for the assist, but shouldn't you be flanking that thing?"
He then darts across the way, cheering on Stefan with a "That's the spirit, my furry friend!" and shooting another Crossbow Bolt followed by an Intimidating Glance at Koi as a Swift action.

Boomer is still down, in case anyone was wondering...
Hoo Hullo

Oh crap I totally miscalculated how far gone Boomer was. Can I retroactively change my move or am I stuck with what I have now?
Boomer Forgehammer
|
He's only -2 HP. But I did not see any successful healing directed at him.
Xavier "the Drunkard" Elington
|
Itching to get back to the fight, Xavier taps himself with the wand and approaches the fish again.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Sorry, Boomer! Vozzik made a good point about flanking, so I figured I should go do that. I think Zahd has CLW, so maybe he can heal you.
Vozzik Astrana
|
Oh crap I totally miscalculated how far gone Boomer was. Can I retroactively change my move or am I stuck with what I have now?
Technically you would have needed a move to equip the wand and then a standard to use it, so you should still be next to Zahd's supine form.
| The World's Most Interesting GM |
Thinking that the koi looks to be panicked Stefan howls to try and intimidate her before attacking.
So demoralizing someone with intimidate, and attacking are both usually standard actions. With a brief glance I didn't see anything on Stefan's sheet that allows for him to take the action as anything less action economy-wise (free, swift, move, immediate, etc...). So lemme know where that's coming from if anywhere, otherwise I will assume Stefan used his time to try and intimidate Koi (basically, the first d20 action I see).
Vozzik can use intimidate as a swift action because apparently he is not playing a normal class for whom normal rules apply, ;) but because he has already done it before is at a disadvantage on this new check. Enough so that she doesn't seem impressed this time around. :O
{GM checks Xavier for number of hands and items held--Good! A buckler!}
Oh crap I totally miscalculated how far gone Boomer was. Can I retroactively change my move or am I stuck with what I have now?
Back to action economy, if Vozzik drops a wand in one place it takes a moment to pick it up off Zahd so Hoo is sort of stuck there with Zahd, yourself, or any adjacent characters as viable targets this round. For now, I'm just assuming Zahd unless you get back to me with something different. I have to move her back too.
Though there is nothing in the dialogue to suggest it, I will assume that Vossik gives Hoo the wand's spell trigger activation phrase (assuming that he knows it of course).

Hey, what else are feats for?!

...yeah, sure, let's assume that as a given.
"Stefan, Xavier, close your eyes until after the flash! Let's see how you feel about bright lights, big fishie!"
Vozzik casts Flare (Fort DC 14) right in front of Koi's eyes.
Mechanically, there's no actual danger to anyone but Koi, but it just seems impolite not to warn them!

No worries it's usually at about this time that I tell folks using my PC's wands that the activation phrase is HELL YEAH! or Ohwah tago siam or something else equally punny.

You don't get flanking bonuses on ranged attacks, normally, in PF1. You do in the Pathfinder Kingmaker CRPG, but that's a difference in systems.
