Watergreen
|
Will: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 3 + 2 = 8
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Watergreen hurries over to the blue idol she noticed and slashes her claw at it. My speed is 35 feet, which let her just reach it.
Attack: 1d20 + 7 - 1 ⇒ (3) + 7 - 1 = 9
Magic, Cold Iron, Silver, Slashing and Piercing Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
| Thundering Dragonkiller |
Thundering Dragonkiller roars into the rafters, sounding closer to a dragon than you'd likely expect from a bipedal humanoid, and electricity begins to spark down his arms. With crackling fists, he begins trying to pummel the ape into submission.
________
Will vs Fear, DC 12: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 1 + 2 = 17
Will vs Bane, DC 12: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 2 = 9
Flurry of Blows (Elemental Assault, Flank, Bane) vs Black: 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (11) + 9 + 2 - 1 = 211d6 + 7 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 7 + (4) = 15 4pts of that is electricity
Flurry of Blows (Elemental Assault, Flank, Bane) vs Black: 1d20 + 9 + 2 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 2 - 1 = 161d6 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 5 + (3) = 9 3pts of that is electricity
Swift action for elemental assault, flurry of blows, 5ft step SE. Kala, will Stinky continue to flank with me if I move? I'm assuming he would and then Dalgur can join in on the flanking, full-attack fun too. Lmk if not, and TD will 5ft back!
GM, TD's AC was 28 for the previous round so that claw would have missed. However, I didn't put it in the tagline like you asked prior, I wrote it at the bottom of the post. I didn't follow your directions, so I won't be miffed if you decide that's too bad for me.
| GM Watery Soup |
The AoO occured before you went into total defense, so your AC should have been minus total defense.
| GM Watery Soup |
Jaakko, do you take damage on a misfire? And how long does it take to clear?
Kala moves. Stinky bites at the gorilla, and feels his teeth unnaturally stop short of biting the gorilla.
Watergreen spots the idols running around amidst the scattering monkeys. She runs up and claws one, but is unable to hit.
TD, the ape goes after Watergreen, so it will attack while you're in your old position. It's not going to move so I will process your attacks after his. Your AC is 28 for his attacks here.
The ape roars and flails about,attacking 2d2 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3 both Stinky and TD.
Stinky:
Slam: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
TD:
Slam: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
The gorilla does his best and is infuriated by his lack of results.
TD now steps and, fists crackling, thumps the gorilla's chest.

Feeling a stronger sense of doom than usual Dalgur charges the gorilla and attempts to rip it apart.
I will provoke and I don't know if I failed the save.
| GM Watery Soup |
It's DC 12, you made it.
Slam: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

The gorilla hits Dalgur on the way in, and Dalgur hits him in return.

GM: No damage, weapon is now broken and it may explode if fired again. Also, since I already used the move action, I don't yet have flail in hand, only next turn. My bad
Salvius Delronge

Salvius fires his last wooden spear at the idol dead in the center, letting the others to Kala and Watergreen. He aims carefully and tries to add momentum to the shot-"Madrasta!"
Splintered Spear: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 5 + 1 - 1 = 6
Spear dmg: 1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 4 + 1 = 13
But his nerves and the fear of impending doom weighs too heavily on him, and he messes up the incantation, the wooden spear shattering before it even gets close to the idol-"Dammit! It's Maderasta, with an e! F***!"
| GM Watery Soup |
I forgot to do this last round - those who save vs fear are still shaken for 1 round. It wouldn't have mattered, those who hit hit by more than 2. But some will end up shaken this round.
Salvius's spear flies wide right.
Red casts cause fear on Kala.
Yellow casts cause fear on TD.
Blue steps and casts cause fear on Watergreen.
DC 12 vs fear 1d4 rounds, shaken for 1 round even if you succeed.

Will: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 2 = 23
Watergreen takes a quick (five foot) step forward and claws at the blue statue!
Claw 1: 1d20 + 7 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 7 - 2 - 1 = 5
Magic, Cold Iron, Silver, Slashing, Piercing Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Claw 2: 1d20 + 7 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (1) + 7 - 2 - 1 = 5
Magic, Cold Iron, Silver, Slashing, Piercing Damage: 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Do bane and shaken stack? They both just say –# penalty. I subtracted both, but if they don't stack the attacks above are +1 higher.
Edit: Two crit fails. NVM.
| GM Watery Soup |
That's actually a good question. Bless is a morale bonus so it stands to reason bane is also morale, but it's not listed as such. Shaken sure feels like a morale penalty, but nothing listed. If it comes up, I will probably make a field ruling that they don't stack, but I'll try to look up a definitive answer when I have time tomorrow.
Jaakko Varpunen

Jaakko sprints toward gorilla and takes swing at it.

Shaken to her bones, Kala activates her Animal Focus (Aspect of the Bull; STR + 2) and forces her self forward through sheer force of will, swinging Orc Brains at the red idol. *Please* break! Please please please...
Cold Iron Warhammer: 1d20 + 5 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 1 - 2 = 211d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 2 + 1 = 5

"Stinky! Flank! Attack!"
Stinky the Wolverine

Gladly! MEAT! YUMYUMYUM! Stinky steps over so he can flank with TD and goes into full whirling dervish mode, ripping and tearing at the much-larger gorilla with abandon.
bite: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 2 + 1 - 1 = 261d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 = 10

Includes flanking and Animal Focus bonuses and Bane penalty
| GM Watery Soup |
Hey guys, mea culpa: I had the wrong AC and attacks written down for the ape. I'm going to revise it for the remainder od the combat so you may notice he's significantly harder to hit and hits harder.
Watergreen and Jaakko miss (even pre-revision).
Kala whacks the red idol, but it can take a hit. Stinky goes nuts om the ape, startling it with its ferocity.
In return, the ape turns its attention on Stinky, striking him once.

Salvius, with his Splintered Spear ability run out, resorts to his last usable spell, despite knowing it's not very good. He clicks his tongue muttering-"Old Professor Killik would be proud"-as he pulls out a rope from his satchel, reciting an incantation-"Soga Amarr!"-as the rope animates in his hand, snaking outwards like a live snake!
He moves closer, getting ready to direct the rope the next time he has a chance.
| Thundering Dragonkiller |
Thundering Dragonkiller just barely manages to keep control of his mind, but the hair on the back of his neck can't help but to stand as something primal stirs within the depths of his mind. Gotta keep fighting, THEY CAN'T BEAT ME!
"RRRAAAHHHHH!" he screams as he starts to punch the ape faster than he did before!

Flurry of Blows with an additional attack from a Ki Point! Since Cause Fear keeps getting cast: Bane reduces saves vs fear by 1 and shaken does stack to frightened with the spell (unlike intimidate). This could get ugly folks!
| GM Watery Soup |
It's not going to get ugly if everyone hits it for 48 hp! You can take your ki point back, only the first hit was needed.
The ape falls to the ground with a crash. All the smaller monkeys start howling.

Thundering Dragonkiller raises both of his fists in the air, declaring his victory over the ape, while he stares down the mass of observing smaller monkeys. My dominance is unmatchable!
Letting the electricity abate, he jogs over to one of the remaining idols and takes an opportunistic punch once it's back is turned.

Dalgur, your token was about 50:50 between two spaces. I moved you to the current space. If you meant the other space, TD has the movement to flank from that position as well.

Watergreen's claws looks like they were just about to hit, when a wave of bad feelings distract her.
Kala smashes the Red idol, and it shatters. An eerie silence permeates the room.
Moving Stinky to corner Yellow.
TD runs up and smashes the Blue idol. The monkeys gasp and, again, an eerie silence fills the room.

--- End of combat ---
As the primates are freed of Angazhan’s mad embrace, they try to flee the museum in sudden confusion. The mists infesting the museum vanish as well, and everyone under their control is freed, including Nigel Aldain (tied atop the pyramid).
Nigel is incredibly grateful for his rescue and gives the team a rare weapon from his own personal collection to express his gratitude. The weapon is a bejeweled masterwork spear with brittle, white bird feathers tied with crumbling leather straps beneath the still-sharp spearhead. It is an incredibly ancient Mwangi spear that Chelish explorers found near the colony of Sargava during the reign of the
expansionist Chelish prince, Haliad I, and worth a great deal to the Pathfinder Society - not to mention a +1 vicious spear.
Nigel also gifts the team with a magical item he believes to be of special significance to Pathfinders: an ioun stone - a magical stone that can be placed within a wayfinder to create fantastic magical effects. It is a flawed incandescent blue sphere ioun stone (+1 to a Wisdom-based skill).
With the curse of the Tik Taan ended, the Blakros Museum returns to business as usual (after some clean up). Nigel is grateful and deeply touched by Adril's hand in his rescue. His friendship with the hulking venture-captain is repaired. More importantly, he now makes all of the Blakros Museum’s vast collection available to the Society for study and considers re-petitioning membership.
That's the formal end of the scenario. Nigel is around to answer any residual questions you have, and you're free to roleplay as you see fit.
Salvius Delronge
|
Salvius is overjoyed the Tik'Taan are destroyed, and his excitement is enormous once Nigel gifts the group the ancient Mwangi spear and the ioun stone, saying-"Near Sargava you say? I'll have to go and check it out myself, maybe see where this spear came from!"-as he examines it thoroughly.
He helps in whatever way he can in returning the primates to their homes, and returns both the dagger and the scroll to Nigel, making sure to point out his discoveries.
With that said, he turns to the group with a smile and says-"I've never had as much fun as today. Thank you for that! You guys wanna celebrate back in the Lodge? Maybe we could arrange some delivery of delicacies, and invite the Blakros staff, which will need the comforting after what just happened."
Watergreen
|
Watergreen helps Salvius get the animals home, and agrees to having a party at the Lodge. That will be so fun!
Jaakko Varpunen
|
Jaakko is overjoyed to see to Nigel in good condition. "You're welcome to join our party at the lodge, sir. This was certainly one of the most interesting museum exhibits I've ever seen! We fought against monkeys, demon bats and crocodile! If there are any further monster infestations, I'm available for fun practice combat." he winks
