GM Watery Soup
Welcome to my Outpost III game. A few things you should be aware of before we begin.
1. This is my first time GMing at an online convention. If there are any differences about GMing at a convention vs GMing independently, I'm very likely to miss them. Please be patient.
2. The convention has a pretty fast pace (6 weeks), at least with respect to the other games I've been running (which have been 6-8 weeks). As a result, I'll probably be more aggressive than I normally am about moving the adventure forward. Posting expectations are 1/weekday and 1/weekend. If you haven't posted for 24 hours, I will find a way to move the game forward. I'm not a fan of botting people - in combat, I'll more likely delay you than bot you.
3. If you have any planned absences, please give me (and your fellow players) the courtesy of advanced notice. To this end, I'll mention that I'm actually going to be on vacation for the first two days of the convention - I'll be setting up as much as possible before I leave, and will probably save initial posts on my phone so I can just copy and paste off of cell phone reception.
4. Please make sure your tagline includes: your class(es) and level(s), HP, AC (normal, touch, flat-footed), perception, initiative, fortitude, reflex, will, and any things you need to track, e.g., ki points, panache.
5. If you're new to conventions, Pathfinder Society, Pathfinder, or even to RPGs, don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions.

Welcome, Watergreen! One of my kids plays on Paizo, too. :)
GM Watery Soup
Everyone is welcome. My kids are 9 and 7 and just started playing Pathfinder.
Watergreen, in the future, you can PM the GM with anything special the GM needs to know about. These boards are publicly accessible, meaning any rando from the Internet can see your post. If anyone bothers you because of your age, let me know by PM and I'll make sure you don't have to worry about it.

So I accidentally posted with my previous pbp character and even though I corrected this mistake, Zaigan is still on characters tab where he shouldn't be. Can somebody help me with this?
GM Watery Soup
GM Watery Soup puts Zaigan into a box and waves his hankerchief. Poof - magic!
I've PMed the other players so we can get every set up before the 30th.

Hi everyone! I look forward to playing with you guys. =)
Thundering Dragonkiller
Also, I am a kid. My mom says I should point that out. But, I have played pbp lots before.
Thank you for the head's up! And to your mom as well. I appreciate knowing this sort of thing so I can adapt my play style appropriately. GM Watery Soup is right though, the GM can always give the group a heads up on your behalf without you having to "publicly" post such information.
Looking forward to a great game with y'all! :)

Welcome, Watergreen! One of my kids plays on Paizo, too. :)
Cool!
GM Watery Soup
As far as I can tell, we have 6 people, and the 6 people match the 6 registrants. I've activated the Map link - please check to make sure you can access the slides, and put your preferred icon anywhere in the white space on Slide 1.
In other news, I will not be on vacation for the first two days of the convention, so ... good for Outpost, bad for me. :S
Please make sure your tagline accurately reflect your characters' statistics.
Start date is March 30. I'll pop by daily before then.
Thundering Dragonkiller
GM, assuming all goes well, TD will be level 3 Saturday night. I don't think that impacts the tier math, but I thought I'd give you the heads up in case it does.
GM Watery Soup
Thanks for the heads up! I haven't even looked at APL, but probably will before Saturday so it's really helpful to know.
Thundering Dragonkiller
[dice=Sense Motive]1d20 + 7
Assuming that's high enough for Kala to tell that Thundering Dragonkiller wants someone to ask for more...Haha! Little ego there? Kala presses her lips together in an attempt to hide her amused grin as she bends over to give Stinky a vigorous scratching behind the ears.
He isn't trying to be too subtle, so I think that'd do it :)
GM Watery Soup
Everyone: I realized I forgot to hand out Faction missions. However, if it's okay with you (plural), I'm not going to hand them out. They all involve taking things from the museum with a rather colonial attitude towards artifacts, which I'm not a fan of IRL. Instead, I will assume if you visit every room, every person will succeed at their Faction mission.
Thundering Dragonkiller
There is a document somewhere with alternative secondary success conditions for these early scenarios. Many of them have conditions that pitted players against each other, iirc, and campaign leadership decided this wasn’t in line with the kind of play they wanted, hence the separate document. I wish I could tell you more than that, but I do recall at least a few of them giving the secondary success of the primary success was met.
EDIT: This was actually way easier to find than I thought! Haven’t checked it, don’t want spoilers.
GM Watery Soup
Wow! That is awesome! Thanks!
Sooooo much better than "loot the museum"!
Thundering Dragonkiller
"And that's assmed, not assumed, because u aren't involved, just me. Sorry!"
Aaaaaand there goes my coffee :)
Kala, daughter of Krokum

Yup. One of the more amusing apologies I've received. Kudos, my friend. Kudos. ;)
GM Watery Soup
Nobody worry about it. The fault was mine for not reading carefully.

I would like to commend the GM and the players for making those the most painless paralyzed rounds I've ever experienced as a player.
When I played this game (F2F), we all failed the skill checks at the beginning, so none of us prepared for the mist. It turns your Int to 6, which was a pretty big blow to my Int 20 alchemist.
Then, in this room, I failed the Fort save vs shriek and spent the whole combat trying to balance my dice in a giant tower.
So I know exactly what you all are going through, and especially Watergreen.
I had a lot of fun despite the mishaps to my character. Preview: I ended up standing up on my chair and yelling, "BOW BEFORE ME, I AM YOUR MONKEY GOD!"
Thundering Dragonkiller
GM, FYI, the grab ability does not auto-grapple a target (obviously barring any special abilities that I am not privy to).
"If a creature with this special attack hits with the indicated attack (usually a claw or bite attack), it deals normal damage and attempts to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity." -from the "Universal Monster Rules" provided by the d20PFSRD website.
Archives of Nethys says something similar: Link to Grab ability
GM Watery Soup
I should have rolled a CMB then. The scenario just says "plus grab" so I assumed it was automatic.
GM Watery Soup
B and S? I thought P and S. This doesn't make sense but it looks like B/S is correct.
Yes, bludgeoning overcomes DR.
Thundering Dragonkiller
My bad GM, I got excited once I saw the bold for the saves and ended up writing out my whole turn! Thank you for being flexible.
GM Watery Soup
No problem. You guys have navigated through a bunch of pretty tricky combats, it's good to be excited.
GM Watery Soup
Folks, as undignified as it is for Dalgur, this will likely be the last round of combat.
I'm starting to fill out the Chronicles, so please double check the character information that you put in the thrwad up top.
GM Watery Soup
Your Chronicles can be downloaded here.
Please save a local copy, and let me know if anything needs to be changed or whether it's good to go. I'll leave the folder open until I get confirmation from everyone.
GM Watery Soup
Okay, I've identified the first logistical error I've made ... if you want to be eligible for a convention boon, please either PM me your E-mail address, or E-mail me at pfswaterysoup at gmail dot com with your screen name. I don't know if you can decline the boon or not (I won't know until I try to report the game with a blank E-mail field), so if you want to decline the boon, just say so, and I'll put in a fictitious E-mail address.
To be crystal clear, I discourage you from posting it here (in a public forum), unless it's a single-use E-mail address (like mine).

Sorry I dropped off over the weekend. It's been busy trying to keep up with entertaining the kids.
My chronicle sheet looks good. I've heard that this was a fun scenario, and have been wanting to play it for a while. Thanks!

You never have to apologize for taking care of your family. :)
Thundering Dragonkiller
Sheet looks good, thank you GM! What was the last creature we fought? The ape. It had a ton of HP compared to the Gorilla's we fought, but I envisioned it to be a Gorilla as well. I'm curious about it's individual CR as well, gotta keep up TD's rap sheet ;)
GM Watery Soup
It was a named ape, called Da'Tunga. At low subtier (the one I accidentally referenced) it's CR 2, at high tier it's 4. It does indeed have a ton of hit points but doesn't hit very hard and has no special powers.
GM Watery Soup
Forgot to post this earlier, for my reference as much as anyone's.
Primary objective: End the curse of Tik Taan. (completed)
Secondary objective: Return 2 of 3 museum employees alive. (completed)
I'm waiting on Dalgur's confirmation that his sheet looks good, before reporting the game.

Instead of spending Downtime, Salvius would take advantage of his time in Absalom and map the ley lines that pass through the city, trying to use any maps he can ask from the Blakros Museum.
By taking 10 on a Knowledge (planes) check, I can pass the DC 17 check required to mark a box from the Faction Journal Card:
Forgo your Downtime to map ley lines attuned to the elements. Doing so requires a successful Craft (maps), Knowledge
(geography), Knowledge (planes), or Profession (cartographer) check with a DC equal to 15 + your character level.

Mine looks good too, in case I forgot to say in the PM.
Thanks for playing with me everyone! I had fun.

Revised Chronicle in the same folder.

I reported the game yesterday through pbpgameday and the credit now shows up on my assigned character. That means, barring a transcription error, it should show up on yours as well.
You can always PM me or email me with any problems, but I'm formally inactivating the campaign.
Thanks for a great game!
GM Watery Soup
It is possible that I was supposed to get you to roll boons. I'm going to make some rolls here for you, rather than PM you or hope you notice this thread got activated again.
1 & 20 = boons
Dalgur: 1d20 ⇒ 14
Jaakko: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Kala and Stinky: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Salvius: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Thundering Apekiller: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Watergreen: 1d20 ⇒ 18
