Work has wiped me out this week guys, been a long weekend of duty calls and after action meetings. Likely to be closer to Friday before I'm in position to post. Please bot Onar as/when required.

Hey folks - apologies for my absence over the last week, as I touched on previously was burned out with work.

Bad news is things are continuing to ramp up over the next month here in my Ops role, and I’ve a bunch of front loading to do ahead of my planned seasonal family vacation to Dubai for 2 weeks from 12-29 Dec.

Knock on has been I’ve been mentally wiped and struggled for motivation and impetus. I’ve always taken pride in being a player who didn’t just post for postings sake, and enjoy the role-play as much as the roll-play.

As such I’ve came to a hard decision that I’m in a real period of creative inertia and cannot (at present) give the games I play in the input and investment they so richly deserve.

With the exception of a couple of (very) long running games I’m taking the very, very tough decision to drop out of the majority of the pbp games I’m in.

Want to take the opportunity to thank you all for the creative collaboration, and particularly our illustrious DM Wandering Loremaster whose brought alive Middle Earth so admirably.

My hope is down the line in 2021 that I’ll be recharged and refocussed enough to resume indulging this amazing hobby of ours on a broader scope. As/when that happens I hope to be lucky enough to game alongside some of you again.

Meantime I sadly will bid you adieu, and thanks again for the patience, understanding and most of all fun and memorable moments in Middle Earth.

I completely get what you're sayin and I hope that things go well with you in RL. Do get back to me in 2021 if your batteries recharge, you're a great player and I'd love to DM for you again some time.

@Everyone else: ironically/sadly, Onar is dropping just as my own batteries are starting to recharge and I'm ready to get this moving again. Given Harry/Decimus hasn't reappeared, we are down to three.

Are you all up for continuing? I hope the answer is yes. If so, i suggest we finish this encounter at the keep and get you back to something resembling civilisation where we can start thinking about finding another PC to join us. (If you have any suggestions for players, do PM me).

Will do chief - appreciate the kudos, and as/when situation changes I'll let you know in the hope of once again travelling the Roads of Middle Earth or some other realm :)

I'm still here! As for people who might join... uha I would have to say I am unsure on that. I could put some feelers out if you wish.

Have we lost Bergur?

So my mother in law will be alright, at least as alright as it can be. She has MS you see, and it has just progressed to a turning point. She has to be in a wheelchair now as the control of her body from the waist down is minimal at best, and it is in her brain which means she'll lose her eyesight in a year or so.

She is out of the hospital now, and is home. Monday all of her kids, my husband and his brothers, will all be sitting down to talk about what needs to be done. She either has to go into an assisted living facility or move in with one of us and will need almost 24 hour care.

As to Bergur, I last talked with him on discord and his cold turned out to be an infection. Not Covid though! But he's still down as it tried to return.

I'm really sorry to hear that. MS is a horrible, horrible disease. No easy decisions there at all.

I'm not sure how combat in 5e is going to work with 3 of you. I will bot Onar if I think the odds are falling against you.

I'm not worrried. If Bergur can land some sneak attacks this should be over before things get too bad.

...I've gamed with Ever_Anon a fair few times now so I hope I'll be forgiven for saying this, but if your plan A is relying on him to roll well than I hope you have a plan B!

@Morwen - did you say you're still in contact with Harry's player? Do you think he might come back soon-ish? If not then I need to pick up a fourth player as three is not really enough.

I see him from time to time on discord. He's on his second round of antibiotics, even stronger ones, and has an appointment with a specialist doctor. After that appointment I'll likely know how soon he'd be able to be back. But that appointment is still a week out.

Will do, I'll let him know the next time I see him on. It is kinda sporadic because his meds mess with his sleep something fierce.

...not sure what to do here. With Bergur and Harry both away (temporarily I hope) we are down to 2 players which isn't really enough. I'd love to keep this going, it's a lot of fun to DM but we should probably talk about what to do.

Yeah, I'm kind at a loss. With dropping down to half it isn't enough to push foreword and we aren't in a place where we could just rp it out... so yeah I'm at a loss as well.

Even more ironically, a lot of this 'chapter' (discovery of long-lost Dwarven fort) was for Onar's benefit!

I'm busy this weekend but what I will do is wrap up this bit on Monday with a post that moves us forward to the conclusion where you report back to Viglund. We can then take it from there.

I've heard from Sarah - she's come down with a vomiting bug and is just now getting over it. She should be back with us today/tomorrow.

Well I got unemployment and my husband thankfully makes enough to cover our bills. And this week and next week he got mandoed for 12s all week and the weekend. So we'll have a nice little bit of safety money just in case...

Also if need be we can put this on pause till others can return. It wouldn't be my first game on pause.

I'm very sorry for disappearing like that. I've been pretty sick for the past few weeks, and at this point don't expect to start feeling better anytime in the immediate future. Therefore I'm dropping out of all my games. (Which I had unofficially done anyway I guess.)

Again, I'm very sorry I didn't say anything sooner, I just kept hoping things would get better and I'd be able to rejoin. It was great playing with you all, and I wish you the best of luck.
