Kolgradd is impressed and grateful as Boodiddly matches magic for magic with this blobbly creature of chaos, but he launches into action when it grabs Jevar.
"No!"
He steps to flank the evil old git with Boodiddly and strikes, hoping whatever curse caused him to miss so badly is exorcised.

Jevar tries and fails to escape the old man’s grasp, then puts up a shield.
Kolgradd moves to flank the old man and hits him twice.
Boodiddly sings and throws a dagger, but misses.
Shakur throws a dagger and cuts into the man.
The old man brings himself close to Jevar’s ear and whispers.

Kolgradd: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (1, 1) + 10 = 12
Note to Boodiddly: Refocusing only regains one Focus Point at a time, and you can’t Refocus without spending a Focus Point previously, so because you spent two in that combat, you effectively only have a max of one Focus Point in your pool for the rest of the day.
To the North
This underground storage room is furnished with two large wooden shelving units on the west and east walls, holding many small chests, caskets, and several loose objects. In the middle of the floor lies a wooden coffin.
A search of the sundries reveals a set of professional-looking clothing as well as a silver seal matrix—a bell-shaped object with Thrushmoor’s crest engraved on its flat bottom and a ring for a string or ribbon at the top.
As the amnesiacs start to continue to the north, Boodiddly suddenly notices, subtly imprinted on the floor, is the Yellow Sign, clearly magically inscribed.
Boodiddly Thievery: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
The gnome easily scrapes away the magic sigil without triggering the hazard.
To the North
The walls of this bitterly cold room are clad with raw wooden boards. Many blocks of hazy ice and wooden crates of various sizes are stacked near the walls. This room just leads up to the building where y’all fought the cannibals.
To the East
A low, circular stone wall marks the lip of a well in the center of this room. A bucket sits beside a block and tackle attached to a wooden frame near the wall of this round chamber. A corridor exits to the west.
There is a small crevice that holds a nest of rats. The rats themselves do put up a fight, but are inconsequential. Inside the nest of note is a single diamond ring worth 100 gp. Inventory Updated
Backtracking and through the double doors
This elongated subterranean hall is decorated throughout with finely wrought Pharasmin symbols, which culminate in a seven-foot-high bas-relief of the goddess’s face on the south wall. Against the other walls, whose surfaces are riddled with burial recesses, sit seven sarcophagi, four sealed and three uncovered. Maps Updated
Leaning against one of the sarcophagi is a strangely-dressed woman twirling a kukri in one hand. The woman wears a scarf over her head and face in a traditional Keleshite manner, as well as flowing silk clothing that covers her entire body—the only skin that is revealed are her wrists, which jangle with various bracelets; her hands, which end in pointed, well-manicured nails; and around her eyes where the scarf does not cover her face. She appears human, however her pure-white eyes and disturbingly-long limbs seem to indicate that this woman may be an elf.
The woman looks up as the door opens and she grips her kukri tightly. ”So, the prodigal amnesiacs return at last!” She speaks with a Kelesh accent, but something is…off when she speaks. Not with her accent or what she says, its something about her that seems off. ”And without the orc. A shame. Since you don’t recall, I am Weiralai Character Profiles Updated. Do not forget it this time. You have made a grave mistake returning here. Lowls should have finished the job of sacrificing you instead of sending you to that...doctor. You won’t interfere with Melisenn’s work any longer.”
Jevar: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Shakur: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Weiralai: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (15) + 17 = 32
Weiralai intones and snaps her fingers as she becomes surrounded in magical energy (that Boodiddly immediately recognizes as occult magic), and in the blink of an eye she quadruples as four Weiralais stand before the amnesiacs. All four then sprint to the other side of the room.

"Magistrate's tools. Does this mean someone from the judiciary was a victim here too? Or... maybe one of the cultists?" Boodiddly isn't sure which option he'd prefer to be true.
-------------------------------------------
"And you have made a grave mistake in staying here!" Boodiddly isn't quite sure where the words came from, but they feel right. He's kinda used to the experience now, even if he still doesn't really like it. "Quickly now Kolgradd!" The gnome whistles a jaunty tune and claps his hands, magic pouring forth like the tears of a forty year old man watching the finale of his favorite opera.

Getting that bomb in before teammates swarm her...
Jevar, seeing that Weiralai moved South in the room, jogs in and veers in the other direction hoping for a clear, but safe shot. He then notes that there are four of her and sighs, proceeding with his attempt.

Kolgradd experiences a primeval horror on seeing Weiralai's true form. His vision narrows to a point, and the words "nightmare dimension" ring in his mind.

Perhaps you’re referring to the fact that I know you can’t eat solid food with those jaws and must have your food ground into mush just like a baby?” The music dies down, but the gnome continues to speak. “Or maybe it’s that I know that you know that I know that your name is really Verily,” (though he pronounces the word “VER-eh-lai”. “Verily Fruitcake, to be precise.”

Resolving in turn order (rather than post order): Kolgradd reacts and hits Weiralai easily, and then he moves over to her and bashes her in the head, knocking her unconscious! Jevar can keep the acid arrow.
Now, unfortunately, Weiralai has fast healing (not regeneration), so truly trying to subdue her is very unlikely (especially since she’s higher level than y’all), so here’s how I’m going to resolve this:
Weiralai DC 5 flat check (if someone successfully Grapples her): 1d20 ⇒ 16
Weiralai awakens from unconsciousness and scrambles for her fallen kukri. ”I won’t forget what happened here.”

Weiralai steadfastly chops the kukri deep into her neck! The wound bleeds profusely. Dying 2 from a crit, +1 from wounded 1, and then at the end of that turn she takes persistent damage, meaning that she becomes dying 4.
Weiralai’s unmoving body lies slumped on the floor, and curiously, after 1d4 ⇒ 3 rounds, the body itself dissolves into nothingness, leaving behind her clothing and anything she had on her.
Healing to Kolgradd: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (6, 7) + 10 = 23
Healing to Kolgradd: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (1, 5) + 10 = 16
Healing to Kolgradd: 2d8 + 10 ⇒ (2, 1) + 10 = 13
Then Shakur Refocuses
So, Kolgradd’s clumsy 1 condition was actually a result of a curse that Weiralai inflicts with her pincers, and because of that Kolgradd actually can’t remove the condition without something that removes curses (like remove curse). Thankfully the condition goes away on its own, but for now Kolgradd is clumsy 1 for the rest of the day.
Boodiddly vs Scroll: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (19) + 13 = 32
4d20 ⇒ (19, 10, 1, 10) = 40
3d20 ⇒ (18, 15, 3) = 36
Among Weiralai’s remaining belongings are two fist-sized rubies worth 30 gp, as well as her kukri (which Boodiddly identifies as a +1 striking wounding kukri). She also had two scrolls: one of the scrolls is blank, and the other is a scroll of talking corpse.

Boodiddly discovers that the bas relief of Pharasma to the south is actually a secret door, behind which is a staircase that descends downward.

“…and those rubies are also from Leng. I think they’re mined there?” Boodiddly shrugs and pushes them towards Kolgradd with the rest of Weiralai’s belongings. “You know, that does make a lot of sense Jevar. She still had a connection to Leng - that was what was healing her slowly - so maybe she used that connection to return there. Which means she might be back eventually.” Getting to his feet, the gnome dusts off his hands.
——————————
Boodiddly tries not to stare at the faint afterglow of the sign even as his ears ring like he was just inside a large drum that someone hit has hard as they could. A few tears of pain leak down his face and into his beard. The last one was so quick and easy though…

Kolgradd is distracted after the fight with Weiralai. He is out of sorts as he listens to Boodiddly and Jevar talk about Leng, the sense of confusion and ignorance unfamiliar. It doesn't help that his legs feel wobbly and he can't get the image of her "face" out of his mind.
He remains quiet until the trap goes off when he rushes past Boodiddly in order to put himself in harms way as comes naturally to him.

Botting Shakur: Shakur descends down the steps and sees what he’s dealing with, so he casts bane.
As Kolgradd and Shakur descend further, they see two winged creatures that combine the features of a carrion bird, an ant, a bat, and a decomposing human in the most hideous of fashions! I’ll hold off on the sanity saves until everyone has seen the creatures.
Behind the creature is a rather normal-looking creature compared to the horrors the amnesiacs have seen in Iris Hill thus far: a beautiful, olive-skinned woman in very expensive clothing and jewelry—to call this woman a “noble” would be a slight understatement. The woman stares angrily at the amnesiacs. She begins incanting and waving her hands as she is surrounded by divine energy! She walks forward, rising in altitude as it becomes clear that she is walking upon the air as if it were solid ground!
”If you think your condition means you’re important, you’re wrong! You are nothing!”

Kolgradd’s reroll is, unfortunately, still a failure (but not a critical failure).
Kolgradd feels pins and needles in his eyes as suddenly, all of his sight disappears! Kolgradd is blinded for 1 minute.
Botting Jevar: Jevar uses his magic and launches several missiles at the byakhee in front of Kolgradd! ◆◆◆ magic missile
Force Damage: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 3, 2) + 3 = 12
The byakhee in front of Kolgradd looks at the dwarf hungrily as it bites at him!

The beast sinks its fangs into Kolgradd and latches onto him with its claws ◆ Grab! It then moves to bite into the dwarf’s arm to drink his blood! ◆ Drain Blood; Kolgradd becomes drained 1.
As the creature sucks on Kolgradd’s blood, it doesn’t necessarily look revitalized by the act, but there is a sudden, insatiable hunger that appears in its eyes! ◇ Bloodlust; Black gets 11 temporary HP along with some other bonuses and penalties.
White likewise rushes over to Shakur and attempts to bite the Pharasmin!
White jaws vs Shakur; bane: 1d20 + 14 - 1 ⇒ (8) + 14 - 1 = 21
Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (3, 6) + 5 = 14
The creature then follows up with a swipe with its claw.

Damage: 2d4 + 5 ⇒ (2, 3) + 5 = 10
I think I mentioned this at one point in time to this group, but I’m unsure, so I’ll say it again: whenever I put “+#” in the parentheses in the initiative card, it’s used to signify temporary HP (which is why I keep it separate from the “-#” that I use to represent damage taken). Also, once again, the HP loss from the drained condition is not included in the damage Kolgradd has taken (the “-#”) in the initiative card below.

Botting Shakur: Shakur moves over behind Kolgradd, casts shield and concentrates on his bane to increase the radius to 10 feet.
The woman standing on air spreads her arms outward. ”We are all worthless before the Unspeakable One! Even if he has marked you, I am the one who will open this world to him—not Lowls, and not you!”
The woman begins Casting a Spell, one that is very familiar to Shakur and Jevar as a 4th-level spiritual weapon!

Kolgradd flails about in his blindness, but actually manages to land a hit on the byakhee! Though, he wasn’t so lucky with attempting to escape its grasp.

Just a reminder to Kolgradd: the party rested before they went up to the attic, so you’ve regained your spells.
Damn, I'm not sure how I missed that. I think I should only be Frightened 1 with bravery
Screaming with pain and frustration, Kolgradd lets out the magical energy he prepared this morning with a word that guides his strike.
◆ True Strike
◆ [quickened] Strike
Maul, courage, frightened 1: 1d20 + 17 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (6) + 17 + 1 - 1 = 23

I completely forgot about Bravery, so Kolgradd indeed should have been only frightened 1.
Kolgradd slams his maul into the byakhee and knocks it onto the ground! Though, miraculously, it is still conscious! Taking out the +1 to damage from inspire courage since Boodiddly didn’t actually cast it this round.
Boodiddly moves forward as he continues his song.
Shakur summons a dagger of force that he sends at the woman.
The airborne woman scoffs. ”Enough of this!”
The woman waves her arms around and utters an incantation. She snaps her fingers, and a sudden BOOM of sonic energy manifests right next to Jevar and Boodiddly! Yellow radius
Boodiddly: 1d20 + 12 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 12 + 1 = 25Failure
Jevar; frightened 1: 1d20 + 8 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 1 - 1 = 15 Critical failure
Kolgradd; drained 1: 1d20 + 11 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 11 + 1 = 28 Success
Boodiddly gets an unnerving ringing in his ears, and Jevar is shaken to his bones by the sonic energy! Boodiddly is deafened for 1 round, and Jevar is deafened for 1 minute as well as stunned 1.
”Hmph. Now as for you…” The woman points her rapier down at Shakur, and her own spiritual weapon flies over at the Pharasmin and lunges at him!
Woman vs Shakur w/frightened 1 and inspire defense: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17
Force Damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (4, 7) + 4 = 15
As the sword flies straight past Shakur, the woman just stares incredulously. ”Uhh…Yes, let’s pretend that didn’t happen, indeed.”
Botting Jevar: Loses one action from being stunned 1. Unable to hear anything that is going on, Jevar unsheathes his dagger and casts hand of the apprentice at the woman! Which only has a somatic component, so it won’t risk failing from the flat check.
Jevar vs woman; frightened 1: 1d20 + 12 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 12 - 1 = 28
Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
The barely-conscious byakhee glares up at Kolgradd and stands, then flies over and interposes itself between Shakur and the woman! I’ll let Kolgradd decide whether or not to use an AoO there, because you know it’s moving away from you and you could feasibly kill it with the AoO.
Assuming it survives the potential AoO: The byakhee, hovering five feet above the ground, bites at Shakur!
White vs Shakur w/frightened 1 and inspire defense; bloodlust, bane: 1d20 + 14 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 14 + 1 - 1 = 31
Damage; bloodlust: 2d6 + 5 + 4 ⇒ (3, 5) + 5 + 4 = 17
Shakur will probably Shield Block, but for now I’m going to assume otherwise until I get confirmation on how Kolgradd wants to spend his reaction.
