Hello! I would like to recruit 3-5 players (I have one player already) for a Pathfinder 2e conversion of the Hell’s Rebels adventure path that I am currently working on. I will be working on the conversion as we go, which is one of the reasons I feel play by post would be well-suited to the endeavor. The other reason is that I thought I would be running a 2e conversion in a face to face game but my home group went and fell apart, so I now have more free time than I know what to do with.
I am leaving the recruitment at 3-5 because I would run the game with a minimum of 4 total players, though if more than 5 people apply I will most assuredly select 5 from the available applications. I would like to be done recruiting for this game by Thursday 9/12 @ 23:59 PST so that we can have a group and start playing by the following Monday.
Even though this will be run in a 2e conversion of Hell’s Rebels that I am working on, it is still viable as a campaign mode run for PFS 1e! May as well get chronicle sheets for it since I assume most people only ever play an AP once.
I already have one player that is definitely going to be part of this, a close IRL friend of mine. They said that they will be willing to flex to whatever role the party needs if there is a base uncovered, so don’t worry about applying around their decision.
You do not need to supply me a full build, though feel free to do so. The things I need are: ancestry (with heritage), background, class (with relevant bloodline, doctrine, etc.), and intended role. Please also include some backstory, the length of which is up to you.
Please use the Hell’s Rebels Player’s Guide for information about the campaign. As for campaign backgrounds, I went ahead and made one for each of the traits in the guide, so feel free to use one of those. Links below!

Zwordsman |
Howdy. So.. This is PFS game? (Aas you mentioned the chronicle thing)
and is adapting a PFS P1 scenario for P2E? Mentioned the Monday. What sort of frequency of posting were you intending to shoot for?
I'd never played a PFS game before. Though I guess I do have a number. but I wasn't aware there was an option like that for this. I also haven't played many "core universe" stuff.. so reading the guides I don't really know a ton of the city landscapes anyway.
I have played 2-3 PBP games (total time maybe 9months, but not all at once). One in Pathfinder and 2 for Final fantasy d20. Happen to have an estimate for how long this sort of thing typically takes?
Near as I can tell.. rolls like Lingustics will end up being Society now? Or would Linguistics be a lore skill now?
As near as I ca n tell from skimming the document and the player's guide thingy.. I don't see a specific level. Is this a lv 1 onward kind of adventure?
but. leaving a message as I do have some interest, but am a bit inexperienced with this proccess.
(If I did join. Half-Elf (Unless it allows for Half Goblin as per 2E's half rules.. Idk if PFS allows that section of core). I have to finish reading the background and the setting stuff.
Class wise, I'd prefer Alchemist, intended role would be support/debuff.
I do have a backstory but I need to read more on the setting.

GM Down with Thrune! |

To clarify on the PFS bit, we'll be running everything as if it were a home Pathfinder 2e game. Per the PFS guild guide we can get chronicle sheets for PFS 1e for the adventure, but it's more of an added bonus than the actual focus of the game. I just really want to run Hell's Rebels.
I'll be converting all of the skill checks over as seems appropriate, so yeah, linguistics generally would now be society etc.

Vors Ebrin |

I would like to present Vors Erbin for the campaign, he is a human with the skilled heritage, natural born leader background, lv1 polymath muse bard. He is a support character that will tend towards being the face and knowledge reservoir of the party. He's got plenty of skills but he'll probably spend most combats inspiring others rather than getting into the fray himself. His character build is on the profile if you are interested to see.
Background
Vors was a loyal local Kintargo boy, he always followed the rules. So enamoured with Thrune ruled Cheliax he even developed an unhealthy crush on the Queen Abograil ii. A scholar at heart but a merchant by trade Vors was happy with his lot in life. That is until Barzillai Thrune’s proclamations. Vors’ little store was closed because he couldn’t acquire a large enough portrait of the Queen in time. His shipment of spices from Katapesh were confiscated due to a box of mint tea. His only hobby, Chelish Opera, was destroyed due to the curfew. Facing destitution and possible incarceration, Vors has been left with no choice other than dissent and protest, which even his love for the queen won’t stop him.

GM Down with Thrune! |

@Zwordsman: This will start at level 1, not sure what level it will end at. The usual campaign ends at 17, but with how experience has been flattened I would not be shocked if it ends higher. As for length, that will just depend on post frequency. This will be my first time GMing a PbP game, so I unfortunately do not have the proper perspective here.

GM Down with Thrune! |

So thus far I've GMed nine face to face sessions (yay GenCon) and I've gotta say I haven't seen a class I don't like yet. Champion is really cool, especially since you could be a CG champion and admittedly the core of this campaign is a CG v. LE anti-tyranny rebellion. Monk doesn't have to be lawful as far as I can tell, so that's an option that wouldn't have been easy before. We seem to have a few people applying for more support oriented roles already, so if you want to be more combat focused that might be a good fit.
Just uh, don't be evil. That would be a really bad fit.

Flavia Stota |

I would like to offer Flavia Stota for consideration for this campaign.
Ancestry: Human
Background: Starstruck (Shensen)
Class: Sorcerer (Fey)
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Flavia Stola was born to a human priestess who helps lead the underground Calistrian congregation in Kintargo. Secrets, and hidden and half truths abounded in Flavia’s childhood, and none more profound than her unusual parentage. “The Lady in the Room never reveals all of her knowledge,” was all Flavia’s mother would ever offer on the topic. Regardless, Flavia grew up relatively content and safe in an otherwise turbulent political and social environment.
As she aged and her talents from her mysterious parentage grew, Flavia sought employment at the prestigious Kintargo Opera House. She hoped that connections to the prestigious institution would help her more easily climb the Kintargo social scene and gain prestige. And while the producers initially scoffed at the idea of allowing someone untrained to perform in their great halls, Flavia’s whimsical magical ability secured her a spot behind the scenes as a lighting and sound specialist.
It is here that she came into contact with her idol - Shensen. Never before had she met someone who combined such raw talent and charisma with the nerve and power to actively speak out against the diabolism of House Thrune (Flavia too hopes to follow down a similar path) While the two have never officially met during her time at the Kintargo Opera House, Flavia believes that networking with Shensen is her ticket to social, and perhaps political success. Our story unfolds with Flavia outraged with the news of Shensen’s disappearance and a goal to find out the truth.
In combat, Flavia will primarily use spells to offer crowd control and debuff enemies. Additionally, she will occasionally summon addition allies (with the primal evolution feat) and can do some light damage. Depending on the needs of the party, she can pick up more of the restorative and healing spells from the primal school.
Outside of combat, she will use her charisma-based skills, stealth, spells and fast and loose relationship with the law to support her party in achieving objectives and rebelling! Flavia is motivated by both a religious and moral objection against House Thrune, as well as a personal desire to be socially and politically influential.
I’m hoping to concrete my build (if and when I am selected) to better compliment the party. I’m not a PFS player and not particularly interested in the chronicle sheet, but if it is easier or necessary for me to take part I can figure it out!
I look forward to hearing your decision! Let me know if you have any questions for me.

Januunda Pohartii |

Fallen_Mage submission
Ancenstry: Human (Skilled)
Class: Fighter or Barbarian Possibly both depending on how things go.
Alignment: NG
When he was about twenty, a fire broke out on the docks that scarred his right hand and forearm. Since then, he has worn a linen glove to cover them, mostly because the skin in that area became sensitive to sunlight and partially because the didn't like it when people starred. However, the incident wasn't entirely unpleasant, he met his friend Adrenna (or possibly one of the other PCs) while recovering from the burns.
Since that time Januunda has looked after her as sort of a big brother, which on more than one occassion was a boon to her. Adrenna was a little opinionated when it came to politics, and mouthed off to boot. There were several times that he almost was picked up by the Dottari alongside her, but both managed to give them the slip.
And now today, she wants to go to the Aria Park Protest.

Tilorean Vashnarstill |

This was a Hell's Rebels character that started this AP once upon a time. Didn't get far AT ALL. I think I would like to rebuild him under PF2 and submit him to this game.
Tilorean Vashnarstill
Ancestry: Human (Versatile, I think)
Class: Rogue (Scoundrel)
Alignment: CG
Background: Child of Kintargo
Intended Role: Face/Trapfinder/Skill Monkey
Til's formal education focused on things he would need to know to lead the family business, but not to work inside of it. To plead with his betters and manipulate his inferiors to create opportunities and take advantage of them. His informal education was guided by Ginnie Sarini. Ginnie was deaf, but she knew how to read lips and took aggressive advantage of learning many of the skills from within her family business. She led Til through many adventures among the common people, disguised as members of the working class.
That's how Ginnie died, actually. During one of their adventurous explorations they got caught up in a sweep the Order of the Rack had initiated within Redroof. A Hellknight struck her down for failing to follow his instructions, which he gave from behind her as she was trying to simply get out of their way. This took the seed of teenage rebellion that Ginnie had already been tending and gave it an amazing boost, as his concepts of the benefits of law and order were scattered across the paving stones with her blood.
Til has found a sudden devotion to Calistria, and he looks to her for assistance in taking out Lord-Mayor Barzillai Thrune, Paralictor Kyrre Ekodyre, and the Order of the Rack. The people he blames for Ginnie's meaningless death. As the young man's hot blood begins to cool over time, his perspective is likely to change.
Tilorean Vashnarstill is, technically, in line to inherit the Baron title. There are two uncles, their progeny, and his own father, Doshtanyak, between him and the title, though.
I understand for the purposes of the adaptation you're making, I might have to back out from one of the major noble families into a less well-known family. Meh. Showing you where the concept sits before I try to adapt it.

Tilorean Vashnarstill |

"Stupid" PF2 character generation question: When directed to select a General Feat, can you select a Feat marked both GENERAL and SKILL, or can you select those only when directed to select a Skill Feat?
As I'm adapting the build, that is the difference between having Incredible Initiative or Multilingual (for Shadowtongue and Kellid), honestly.

GM Down with Thrune! |

Keeping a catalogue of all submissions that I get so that it'll be easier to decide later, this is a bigger turnout than I expected!
@Tilorean: It's alright if you still want to be from one of the major families, there just won't be any mechanical difference, just an aesthetic/roleplay one. With the 2e material that I have thus far I couldn't really find a balanced way to handle that trait without stripping it of most of the mechanical differentiation that it had before.

Iff |

I've always been very interested in Hell's Rebels, but never got the opportunity to play it. Now that you're converting it to 2E, that would be just perfect. Here is my submission.
Preben Natale
Ancestry: Human (Skilled)
Background: Urban Sleuth
Reason to protect: Staying up on current affairs
Class: Ranger
Role: Melee (Strength-based), skills
Class choices: Hunter's Edge Flurry, Class feats: Animal companion and Twin Takedown (bonus feat from Human Ancestry feat)
Preben is the youngest son in a successful merchant's family. Being so much younger than his siblings, he didn't have a clear role in the family, or in the business. The result was a good education, little obligations and lots of freedom, which Preben used to ask always questions, to sometimes get them answered, and to occasionally get into trouble. He's a Caydenite at heart, to the point where he has named his pet dog - a great Dane - Tankard. The two are inseparable, or as Preben would say: "A true follower of Cayden is never without a Tankard at his side."
Diabolism and the rule of Thrune has never agreed with Preven, but they seemed somewhat distant nuisances in his life. This changed when Barzillai came to power: The man's fondness for large dogs felt like a personal affront to Preven, and when the Thune claimed the opera house for his own that just added insult to injury. Preben has been trying his hand at satirical cartoons to push back against the new lord-mayor and his ridiculous proclamations, but hasn't taken action beyond that. He hasn't thought about actual rebellion, but given the chance he'd jump on it.

Roger is almost a textbook definition of thug. He was raised in an orphanage in the Devil's Nursery, where he learned quickly that it was better to be big and scary than kind. As he grew, he first shot up in height, finally levelling off at 6'5", and the next few years of a combination of hard labor and armed robbery filled that frame out with muscle. Roger was recruited into his first gang when he was about 13, which is where he truly learned how the underworld worked and how to fight in a group. Over the next 6 years, he would join a variety of gangs, only to leave again when that gang was arrested or collapsed due to infighting.
Now Roger works as freelance muscle for hire. Currently he has agreed to guard a small group of pickpockets at a protest martial law in the city. The group plans to move among the crowd and collect wallets before the Hellknights show up, and figure they can use some muscle in case things go sideways.

Hello! I'd like to submit my gnomish Cleric of Calistria, who now runs investment scams on the Chelish elite and (more often) their toadies. While I know if probably reduces our chances overall, I had conceived of this as a joint submission with Enara Etcheberry, Jilvinirri's protege and partner in crime!
If posting history is something you check I've been an active and enthusiastic player on the boards for a few years now. My RotRL (Kargas Stormscar) and Ironfang Invasion (Thorek Ironspark) are my favorites.

Hi friends! I'd like to throw my name in for consideration. Jilvinirri and I are a great team and we'd love nothing more than to get some payback on the devil-worshiping fascists.
While Enara has never particularly concerned herself with politics, things have recently and rapidly changed for the worse. The coming of Barzillai Thrune and the Night of Ashes has turned her life upside down, starting with the disappearance of her mother. Coming home one night, Enara found agents of Thrune waiting outside, presumably for her. Hating herself for it, but knowing there was little she could do, Enara snuck away and hoped her mother had escaped. Unfortunately, when it was safe to return, the home was completely ransacked and there was no sign of Nerea anywhere.
Forced to flee and live on the streets, it's hard to imagine how long Enara would have remained homeless if she hadn't had a chance meeting with a gnome who took pity on her. The gnome, Jilvinirri, brought Enara in on their confidence schemes, utilizing her skills at information gathering to help identify and exploit the rich Chelish nobles they preyed upon. In the meantime, Enara has worked feverishly to discover what happened to her mother and was recently contacted by someone who claims to have information that can help. Suspicious, but with no other leads, she heads to the protest to meet with this mysterious contact in Aria Park.

In 4710, Victor was recalled to Citadel Dinyar to serve Lictor Resarc Ountor. The move was difficult for Lucius, as he found the Citadel to be an isolating experience. That would change in 4715, as the Glorious Reclamation overran the Citadel. Taken captive by true Iomedaen warriors, Lucius found himself in the company of like minded individuals. In a chance meeting during her captivity, Lucius met with Lord Marshal Alexeara Cansellarion, and quickly identified and even idolized the rebel leader. Nevertheless, his time with the rebels would be cut short, as a prisoner exchange arranged between the rebels and Order of the Godclaw leadership led to his father’s release along with twenty other prisoners and their families. Reluctant to leave, Lucius decided to go leave for his mother’s sake.
Again, the family was relocated, this time moving to Kintargo. His father quickly fell into service of Lictor Octavio Sabinus of the Order of the Torrent, a friend he knew from his military days. Lucius settled into his life in Kintargo, content for a change as the city appeared to be more liberal and respectful of its peoples than elsewhere in Cheliax. Disagreements with his father continued unabated for a short time, until the city fell under the rule of Barzillai Thrune. Within days of taking control, the new Lord-mayor had removed the Order of the Torrent, and his father was without employment once more. Normally quite virulent in his belief of law and order, Victor himself began to question the tactics of the new Lord-mayor and grew more despondent by the day. For the first time in his young life, Lucius found that his father was no longer trying to control and punish his more liberal views on freedom. Seeing the world around him lapsing into tyranny, and with no opposition at home from his father, Lucius began to attend protests in the town square, free to fight for a more compassionate order in Kintargo

Jilvinirri. |

When Jilvinirri (“Jil” or “Jilvi” to her friends) was barely more than a child she joined the populist movements that eventually ignited the Andoran Revolution. Falling in with a group that was part university activists and part street militia, the young gnome learnt the basics of spycraft and propaganda during the struggle against the entrenched nobility.
Jilvinirri was proud of the small role she played in bringing a new order to Andoran, but was disappointed as the years passed and many of the nobles who had renounced their titles were still able to leverage their wealth and connections to remain influential despite the new government’s protestations to the contrary. Disheartene, the gnome left Andoran to join her uncle’s shipping small but well-run company, travelling as far as Magnimar on its ships while learning to keep the books. Unfortunately, her uncle’s company had caught the eye of Aspis Consortium agents, who put the poor man under enormous pressure to sell—pressure compounded by a rash of arson and vandalism by masked thugs Jilvi was convinced worked for the Consortium.
When her uncle finally buckled and sold the company for a fraction of what it was worth, Jilvinirri was disheartened all over again. Deciding that their enormous wealth was what allowed the wicked to triumph so often, the gnome resolved to separate the rich and corrupt from their money in order to level the playing field and put her skills to use as a thief and swindler. Forced to skip town several times over the years, she eventually made her way to Kintargo and caught a street urchin trying to pick her pocket. Taking the human girl under her wing, Jilvinirri instructed Enara in the arts of swindling and the two are now partners and fast friends, conning the Chelish elite and (more often) their ambitious toadies.
I haven't chosen a Campaign Trait or bought gear yet, but otherwise she's ready to go! Also alignment should be CG instead of CN, sorry!

@hustonj: Thanks so much for the breakdown! I think I'm going to start making those myself. I figure I'll do one this Friday, next Friday, and then on the Thursday submissions close.
@Vrog: Unarmed fighter and barbarian are both pretty viable, just as a heads up!

I'd like to join as well.
I'm looking at an Animal Order druid whose bear companion was rescued from a cruel noble that had it as a pet and mistreated it. It would be an Arcadian bear imported to show off (modelled after real world spectacled bears and the extinct giant shortfaced bears).
The character itself would be a Halfling with ties to the Bellflower Network, who also freed the bear from captivity.

Lucius Baradayne |

Just realized that the personality section was cut-off when I posted it here. Also edited the backstory some more. The rest is available on this alias now.
Lucius is also known to be quite overconfident, and sometimes brash in the face of adversity. While he tends to have a great deal of personal magnetism that draws people to him, he also can come off as overbearing and cocky to some. Those who find his arrogance a trifle annoying feel as though he could stand to learn some humility.

My background and crunch can be seen in my alias. Let me know if you'd like me to explain anything, change anything, whatever. :)
I’ve DMed and Played on these boards for years now and been in the D&D realm for decades. I’ve always been an active and supportive player in every game. Please feel free to peruse my aliases and campaigns for examples.
I’ve read through the Core Rulebook, and played the Playtest, so I am somewhat familiar with the new rules. However I have not, naturally, read every page of the 642 page rulebook so I’m sure there are plenty of gaps in my knowledge. I have also read the Players Guide of course and am ready, and eager, to play!
I have started this AP before, and gone through about half the first book before folding, so I know a little of how it starts, but not much else. I’ve heard great things about this AP and am eager to check it out!

Dotting in, I am DMing this IRL with my group in 2e and love it. I would love to be a player, and am more than willing to put aside my DM knowledge. I would probably play a caster either full or eventually archetype in. We’ve been playing 2e since the playtest so I am quite familiar with the new rules.

Hey all, just chiming in to say I'm still watching and the conversion effort is going rather well so far. I will be posting another submission summary tomorrow, but I did just want to remind the folks that have dotted that you still have a whole week to submit the minimums—take your time!
If anyone has any questions about character building, the material in the new Lost Omens World Guide and what would be appropriate for this game, or whatever else, feel free to either drop them in here or send me a private message.

Thank you all so much for the time and effort that you have put in so far. I will post one more of these the last day submissions are open, and then I will post who I have selected next Friday.

Tilorean Vashnarstill |

So, I spent some time looking tonight. I could justify rebuilding Tilorean as either a Champion of Calistria (but Liberator strikes me as too passive for such a choice, really) or as a Bard (Polymath with a Calistrian muse).
So, I prefer him as either a Rogue or Bard (I can keep the core of the skill set matching the existing story either way). The two options provide different strengths, but either seems a valid implementation of him as I envision him.

Ok, so I've been itching to get into an AP on here for a while, but it looks like this one won't be the one. I've tried for the last few days to come up with something, but I just can't think of anything that I can really get excited about. There are too many other good submissions on here, so I will respectfully withdraw.
Thanks anyways!
