Seeing that her sleep spell worked perfectly! The spiders at least LOOK drowsy to her, and when they fall straight down and are easily hit (the effects of crits!) by her companions -- it confirms her magics were powerful!.

I mean, there *will* be enough compliments when I write my novel or novella - depending on how long most of you or us live as we explore. But, I digress. "Anyone hurt or poisoned?" Ekun grabs his torch from the ground as well as recovers his arrows. If no further protests he will draw his blade and lead the group further into the darkness.

Does anyone think that a flail swing can be "Brooding"? I'm trying to come up with adjectives for Harrim and his fighting style.

Demonstrating once again, that Linzi is having a hard time pegging her companion Madeye Harrim and further demonstrating that her mind is not on the task at hand.

"For the most part it looks like we're all fine, let's press on." Faerin says, re-freshing the light spell on her staff.

This tunnel is also short and opens into the biggest chamber yet, approx. 60' in diameter. This cave has a mass of webs coating the ceiling and walls, but the ground is bare sand. An ominous chittering sounds from the back of the cavern, those with darkvision can see a massive, bloated spider about 5' off the floor in the webs on the back wall. The spider is the size of a large warhorse. Masses of regular sized spiders swarm across the webs in the room.

Pyros pulls out another alchemist's fire, and prepares to throw it. Are the little spiders swarms? If so, he'll throw at them. If not, he'll throw at the big one.

At the moment, they are not swarms.

Not able to see very far Ekun moves further into the cave and tosses his torch onto the ground. Already having his sword drawn he stands his ground, waiting for the inevitable moment that the spider crashes into him.

Ekun, the spider is large and has 10' of reach, if it closes with you, it will probably stop out side your reach.

Faerin dashes into the chamber, staring directly up at the massive spider. The druidess takes a deep breath, the warmth radiating off of her, beginning to build before she exhales and gout the flame straight up to envelop the spider and its webs.

Both Linzi and Faerin (as evidenced by her actions) realize that the mass of webs is probably quite flammable.

Ekun, you know that the spider has only a single bite attack or a single ranged attack with its web.

Faerin''s gout of flame sets the webbing ablaze. The fire spreads incredibly quickly across the ceiling. The thousands of small spiders scurry in vain to escape the flames. Many fall on you, but they are mostly harmless individually (although it is creepy). The room fills with the sound of hissing and popping as the spiders are burned by the flaming webs. However, there seems to be a vent above as the smoke is sucked out through the ceiling and air rushes in to the cavern through the entrance you just came through. The Queen spider drops instantly from her position in the webs taking some damage from both Faerin's and the burning web she was in.

Unless Ekun wishes to change his action, I will go to the spider next.

Ekun knows that Faerin can't possibly hold the spider on her own. he rushes in to help share the defenses against the spider queen. "Over here." He swings his sword around, near the spider.

Ekun successfully distracts the spider and it attacks him.

Fortunately, it misses.

Ekun stabs down at the spider with his longsword.

But stumbles as the spider's fangs nearly snap down on his arm.

As the spider goes after Ekun, Faerin brings her staff slamming down on it's back.

Seeing the unfettered courage - which she undoubtably inspired - from Faerin and Ekun - Linzi moves forward with her instrument in one hand and pulling out her morning star in the other.

Harrim, being much more fatalistic and aggressive, charges right at the spider.

Leaping at the last second, Harrim brings his full weight down in the swing and lands a massive blow!

The spider turns to the new threat and attacks in desperation.

The spider just misses a critical hit on Harrim, but still manages to do some damage.

Faerin attempts to follow up her previous strike with another blow, but the viciousness of the spider's attack on Harrim foils her aim.

Linzi clearly butchers the word. Saying he's mentally pathetic instead of telepathic. Maybe she innocently used a word wrong, or maybe she intentionally tried to hit Harrim with her verbal morningstar.

Speaking of morningstar... She uses her real one on the spider.

Faerin recovers from her miss, reversing her direction and bringing her staff smashing down on the spider's head.

Well, I may not have got-cha, but Faerin sure did. Bang! What a whallop!

Aside from Harrim's one charge attack, Faerin continues to be the only one damaging the spider. It does look worse for the wear, but it still stands.

On my turn, Inspire Courage runs out/expires. No more bonus. Linzi Moves to try and help distract the spider enough for one of the big time fighters a better chance to hit. Giving Harrim and Pyros a flanking bonus.

She swings her morningstar at the spider. Hoping for an opening, but really swinging her weapon for another reason.

Why don't I feel so inspired anymore?
