Tytus and Heccan are up!
Heccan Abraxi
|
The wind near the ettin swirls and the group can see sparks of light as Heccan once again invokes his dark nature.
Heccan will move an additional 20 feet straight up, which should put him at 40' in the air, and cast [url=https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/t/tongues/]tongues[/ulr] on himself so that he is able to speak and understand giant.
| GM Abraham |
Heccan is now able to understand the ettin's growls and shouts perfectly well. It quickly becomes apparent that what he and she are saying - mainly different variations of "I'll get you!", "You'll pay for that!", "I've got you right where I want you now!", and "don't kill all of them, save some for me!" - is said not in any specific language - ettins in fact have no language of their own - but rather a strange pidgin of Giant, Goblin, and Orc.

Thrown rock: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17
dmg: 2d8 + 12 ⇒ (3, 2) + 12 = 17
... although it misses it - once again - rises as yet another elemental creature.
direction: 1d8 ⇒ 8

This new (Purple) elemental lands some distance away but immediately charges at Hector.
Slam, PA, EM, charge: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 8 + 2 = 12
dmg, PA, EM: 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (6) + 14 = 20
The Green giant then moves back towards the cave, drawing his greataxe as he does.
The Green elemental suddenly disappears into the earth itself, only to reappear on the other side of Caduceus, in a flank position...
Slam, PA, EM, flank: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 2 = 26
dmg, PA, EM: 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18

Slam, PA, EM: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
dmg, PA, EM: 1d8 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19

... destroying his last image before striking him solidly with his second boulder.

The Yellow giant's first boulder springs to life as yet another elemental (Orange) who immediately charges Tytus. Tytus, this will provoke an AoO from you.

Would the investigator get a Spellcraft, Perception, or other check to realize he is about to attack a creature Heccan just charmed?
It's possible that the PLAYER didn't realize it. At a RL table, I think this would have been clearer.
| GM Abraham |
Tytus doesn't need to make a check to know that the ettin has been charmed - it's known to all the PCs. And, agreed, at a RL table someone would have said, "hey, wait a second..." I'll allow Tytus to retcon his action if he wishes. I'll also note that he has - again - passed up on taking an AoO against a foe - I think this is the third one. Tytus, is there something else I can be doing to make these details more visible to you? I tried putting a bolded note in the initiative tracker this time but I'm guessing you didn't see it. I get that all the updates can be a huge block of text with so many combatants so if there's something I can do to facilitate just let me know.

Grunting through the various wounds, the paladin steps behind the elemental, then holds aloft his shield. Calling on the divine reservoir within, he releases some of its power, strengthening his connection to The Inheritor, healing him completely.

Sorry for the delay, everyone. It was a hectic week.
Caduceus, by my reckoning of how Pathfinder does 3d measurements (no trigonometry), Heccan is just out of range of your 35' channel - not that it matters much as he only has 2 dmg anyway.
Anen begins inviting more creatures to the fray.
Since Hector did not parry the earlier attacks from the giant he takes 29 dmg, 5 of which is then transferred to Caduceus during the last life link, and those 5 are healed when Caduceus heals himself. Net result: Caduceus is still at 0 dmg; Hector is now at 25 dmg.
Hector advances upon the Green giant but only one of his strikes connects (These guys are more heavily armored than the teenagers or, for that matter, the other hill giants you fought earlier in the adventure).
The two-headed ettin looks around in perplexity and then the two heads begin to speak to each other.

From the ground, Caduceus struggles to finish off the wolf atop him before the paladin heals his own wounds with a touch.

LoH + Greater Mercy: 4d6 + 2 + 1d6 + 15 ⇒ (6, 2, 3, 4) + 2 + (6) + 15 = 38
I have been forgetting about Greater Mercy which adds an additional 1d6 to LoH if the target does not have a condition I can clear (in this case, Sickened).
"Anyone need a lift?"
He then looks up at Anen, "I wouldn't turn one down."

Hector replies in kind, with a critically effective strike!
Caduceus strikes at Cyan from the prone position, knocking it unconscious with his first stab, and then healing himself with the divine power of Iomedae, while standing up. Caduceus, I presume you would like to use a move action to stand up?
Still need actions from Tytus and resolution of Anen's Dimensional Steps travel program before moving forward.

Anen flies towards Caduceus.
"Where too, mister?"
I'll have to double move this round, but I'll take Caduceus wherever he wants next round (within 150', at least).
