Gordy has heard of these before. Living Topiary creatures would have no special means of movement beyond thirty feet in a six second span. It is resistant to damage that isn't slashing. As a plant, it is also immune to certain effects.
Rorik has seen or heard of Shredskins before. They are amorphous and undead, so certainly are full of immunities. They attack by possessing dead bodies like a coat, and also can control living bodies they pin. They constantly detect undead, and can fly reasonably well about forty feet in six seconds.
Malsuza shatters the red shredskin with her mace.
The living topiary double moves to the bridge to block the party from proceeding forward, and then the blue shredskin flies into Gordy at high speeds, and bull rushes the dwarf off the bridge!

Gordy can blade rush 30 feet in any direction per round, including straight up. If he can use this to get close enough to grab onto something, he will. This can at least slow his falling down to a mere 30 feet per round.

Gordy continues to use the kinetic energy in the cave around him to propel himself up, slowing his descent into the void. Seeing the rope come down towards him, he reaches his hand out as he launches himself towards the lifeline.
Gordy's elemental familiar wraps its serpentine body around the rope and helps pull the struggling dwarf back up onto the platform.
"Ha! Thank ye for the assistance! I was afraid ye might let ol' Gordy keep falling down this big ol' hole here and I weren't looking forward to be meeting whatever be living on the bottom down der."
