But animals have to have some way to differentiate between each other. Otherwise how would the alpha be able to order the individuals of his herd/murder/flock/etc around?
I assume that they go more by scent to differentiate each other and body language for direction. I've seen animals work together very well without making any noises at all. This is me bringing real life into a game though so who knows.
Well yes that is true, but the idea is that if we finish all that before the GM chooses we won't have to stop and do it once selected. Making it easier to hit the ground running.
Any speak with animals interaction on Rei's part will probably be just sounds and body language with what it "translates" to in a spoiler. You could probably just refer to her as "fox." My impression has always been that the spell would allow the animals to understand your speech and then you could understand their replies but they's still be constrained to their normal communications methods. Even though Rei maintains her intelligence in fox form she still is stuck with the capabilities of a fox.

Korliss spends the majority of his time "on patrol" along the lakeside and treeline. He moves around looking for threats he has been led to believe are always just around the corner, while also snagging small game or edibles along the way.
What he doesnt realize is that the druids of the sacred menhir send him off basically foe busy work. He is not the wisest of the young druids, but is physically capable, so they intend for Korliss to serve as a martial (and potentially expendable) combatant rather than a guide of wisdom and learning.
He hasn't put two and two together yet, and probably wont unless its pointed out to him, because he really loves doing what he has been.

Wednesday? Well, if the weather permits I will try to teach the kids of the village about the woods by taking them out to play hide and seek. And I only ask the birds to show me where they are hiding if they don't come back when called.
Rei takes a stroll around the village, but it seems that no one is in sight. They must all be sleeping in or working...I'll have to find something to get into. She innocently saunters out of the western gate.
Shortly afterwards, a small russet fox darts in through the same gate, sticking close to the shadow of the wall until it nears GM_Panic's hut. Quickly looking around, it darts under the porch. Maybe I can see how the selections are going....
Tarial is a fairly simple person, for someone who mostly use Prestidigitation to do all there chores. Oh, and occasionally she pranks people using illusions.
And she has a crush on a couple of people.
Val kind of adopted me as a sometime pet, so I've been known to take naps with her, but I don't have a crush on anyone.

Jeanuel is a hardworking boy, a bit foolish, and comes across as arrogant. However, he deep down is a good lad, his arrogance is not intended but his manner of speaking is not a charismatic kind and thus is misunderstood often.
He can be a bit easy to anger, something that he is working on as the conflicting power boiling in his blood causes him to lash out magically when he is mad.
When he is not learning the trade of either of his parents, he can be found relaxing under a tree with whatever book he has managed to find to read around the village. Unfortunately, books are limited given the outside contact so he must borrow from anyone and everyone.
He has a mischievous side and is down for a good prank (when it's not on him, but when he has time to cool down and reflect, he'll even laugh about those.) Right now, he knows Val from his parents work and the few times he's been allowed to work one of their projects.
He also knows both Rei in fox form and outside, though he's not pieced together that they are one and the same...yet!
Those are the only background tie ins I've managed to work together with anyone. Please let me know if you there is something you like about the character to talk out some kind of connection.
Well Unless someone says I missed them, then I think we can say everyone who has made a full PC has now made one.
