Fuzzzy spills his drinks all over the place!
"Wooops!"

![]() |

"Well this is embarrassing."
Ruslo is dripping wet.
"Good work Sok."
Ruslo claps Sok on the back.

![]() |

"A bit of a waste of good beer. With games like that I'm surprised the bar could keep open! When does the drinking part of the comoetition start?"

![]() |

Sok carefully sets down the stool and, without any trace of mirth, hisses "the mug."
Careful Sok, or you'll start thinking like those snakes, instead of just pretending.

GM_CariMac |

Rolf laughs and hands over the mug. "There you go my man. Enjoy the rest of your evening, and have a round on Cayden." He responds to Syllyn's question. "The drinking is to take care of any ties, but your friend there balanced so well he won with just that." He'll pour a drink for you all.
He doesn't seem upset about having to hand over the relic, and isn't in a hurry for you all to leave the temple.
Good job Pathfinders. Where would you like to head to next?

![]() |

"Oh, really? Well, we should save the pirates for last, then." He nods his head. "What was that other one again? Yes, yes. That one!"

![]() |

‘Thestil Shadowtongue’ waves ‘Mr. Bloomy’s’ furry stuffed paw at Rolf in farewell. Then she hops down from the bar and leaves without another word. She does not stay to drink. ”Come on.”

![]() |

Ruslo grins. "Sure, I'll take one for the road. Thanks my man!" Ruslo claps Rolf on the shoulder, snatches up a mug of ale and walks out with it after Lady Naysha..

![]() |

Syllyn also snags a last, long, pull from a flagon and follows the hasty Oracle.
Now THAT was my kind of mission. Why can't they all be like that!

![]() |

Aglynn grabs an lefotver mug from the contest and drains it, then nods agreement to the others. "The Silken Veil, then?"

GM_CariMac |

I heard two votes for the Veil, and we're off.
Upon first glance, it is hard to imagine the House of the Silken Veil as a brothel. It is a large, grimy marble building topped with an ugly blood-red steeple. Nevertheless, its three entrances are each hung with freshly laundered curtains and the heavy, floral smell of incense wafts from the building.
When your group enters the House of the Silken Veil, the resident acolytes and attendants assume they’re new customers looking for a good time.
"Hello darlings. How can we be of service this afternoon? We can play games, and help you relax." She gives everyone a sly smile, and a wink.

![]() |

"Would you care to explain to me the nature of these games," Syllyn asks innocently. "Interesting that you should suggest such as we just came from a successful competition. If it involves drinking, however, I believe my thirst has been slated."
Unfortunately he is quite oblivious to the concept or need for a brothel. Mating is primarily for reproduction and the sale of sex is alien to him.

![]() |

Ruslo laughs after Syllyn inquires to the nature of the games. "As tempting as games may be," he winks, "We're here on business." He shows off his Aspis Badge. "The Aspis are here to collect. We need to speak with your boss. Shorafa."
"Maybe games later."

![]() |

Sok remains silent and impassive.

![]() |

As a player I have decided to be silent for this part. I am too young. I maybe will say something when we are talking to the boss of this place.

![]() |

"Take me to Shorafa. Now."

GM_CariMac |

"Games? We could play drinking games, or we could play chess or checkers. It sounds as if you already have plans for this afternoon, pity." the young woman gives Sylin a wink. "If you want to spend the afternoon, just ask for Asa."
She waves and another attendant arrives to escort the group to Shorafa. "Oh your here to see Shorafa Pamodae the high priestess and madam of the House of the Silken Veil. She's wonderful. I'm sure you will have a lovely afternoon in her company. She's very entertaining."
The attendant opens the door to Shorafa's office and you see a sultry tiefling and a cunning crime boss responsible for Riddleport’s extensive “hospitality industry.” Shorafa greets you with an enticing smile. Please have a seat and enjoy some wine wine while you make yourselves comfortable."
"Comfy? Wonderful. What may I do for you all?" she asks with a smile and a twinkle in her eye.

"Hello. We're here to collect your debts, Miss Pamodae. The Aspis always collects. Where is the relic?"

Ruslo takes a seat. "Nice establishment you have here."

GM_CariMac |

The acolyte laughs at Syllyn's "jest", "Only if she's poisoning someone. She's one of the most powerful women in the city. I wouldn't ask her to cook for you." he keeps chortling down the hall to himself.
"Thank you. Shorafa responds to Ruslo. "I've worked hard to make it the best in the city."
Shorafa gives the young woman in front of her demanding the dagger a long look, "You have proof of who you are I presume?" she waves a hand. "Never mind. I have a deal to offer you."
"You are Thesil Shadowtounge, correct?" asks Lady Naysha.

![]() |

"Yes," Lady Naysha replies. "And yes."
She flashes her badge at Shorafa.
Bluff: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28

![]() |

Ruslo grins. "A deal you say?"

![]() |

I guess I'll be tossing those dinner invitations, then.

GM_CariMac |

"It's a simple and interesting proposition. You accept a few hours of indulging in exotic wines, teas, and the devoted company of my acolytes. We have several that are quite skilled in playing board games, and teaching magic tricks. In exchange, all I require is Thestil Shadowtongue’s signed statement on behalf of the Aspis Consortium that the temple’s debt has been repaid in full, including the past-due interest." She gives a sly smile. "Simple really. What do you all say?"

![]() |

"What do I say? Well, hello probably. It's best to start with a greeting."
Fuzzzy smiles proudly. Apparently he's already forgotten the woman's name.

![]() |

"Interesting. That's a horrible deal for the Aspis Consortium, of course. You owe plenty. I have a counteroffer." Thestil Shadowtongue smiles. "Vidrin Jenk has... overstepped. Insulted many. Me among them. This deal is important to him and failure... would go poorly for him. Entertain my people for three hours -- food and drinks included, of course -- and give us the relic. Afterwards I'll sign a contract excusing your debts. But the contract cannot be shown or mentioned to Vidrin Jenk until tomorrow. Agreed?"

![]() |

"Boss Lady here makes a good counterproposal," Ruslo adds, nodding along with 'Thestil's' deal.

![]() |

Sok pulls out a piece of paper and begins to fold it as he leans against the wall.

GM_CariMac |

"That's an interesting offer. Making him look bad is currently my dearest wish. He does overstep. I accept your offer. It will be what he deserves."
Who accepts her offer of hospitality?

![]() |

Aglynn accepts a few hours of tea and board games.

![]() |

Sok accepts drink and a quiet place to read.

![]() |

Syllyn decides to risk poisoning and dindulges in his favorite pastime of tasting exotic local quisine. Other than that he has nothing to add.
"Nice job, Thestil. I think we made some friends and enemies today. All in a good days work."

![]() |

Thestil Shadowtongue gives Syllyn a smile. As soon as she gets her hands on the relic she inspects it, curious what it is and to make sure the lady isn't trying to trick her.

![]() |

Fuzzzy drinks some tea and eats some food. He also talks a lot with his owl and hat.

![]() |

Ruslo parties with the Calistrians.

GM_CariMac |

Shorafa produces a locked iron case with a glass lid containing a dagger shaped like a wasp’s stinger. The case is locked. "If Jenk wants the dagger so badly, he can get the case open on his own. If there's nothing else. I'll have my acolytes see you out. "
She arranges for the Aspis to be escorted from the building after their entertainment is complete.

GM_CariMac |

The Fish Bowl stands along the river atop a high stone base. Well-worn stone stairs ascend the stone base to access the temple above, but a chain has been drawn across the bottom of the stairs to block easy access. From the street, it is difficult to see anything occurring in the temple at the top of the platform. Only a few dim lights flicker up in the temple, and a narrow tower or lookout post rises above it.
From the street, the Fish Bowl appears to be a ramshackle building constructed on top of a sturdy stone base 15 feet tall. From atop the stairs that ascend to the temple, it’s clear that the stone base has a deep, round pool scooped out the top that contains murky seawater. The temple is little more than a frame around this pool used for some
storage and to ensure a bit of privacy for the priests, as the Besmarans keep dangerous sea creatures within the pool. Narrow spiral stairs connect the temple to a small lookout post 30 feet above ground level.
You hear screaming from inside the temple.

![]() |

"Do you hear that screaming? Is that normal for a bar like this?"

![]() |

Flashing back to when we received the box with the dagger:
I wonder what we're dealing with here. Sok examines the case thoroughly, checking for traps or other defenses.

"Well, we did hear something about feeding people to sea creatures. Perhaps we should go look?"

Syllyn examines the box too, using what knowledge he has (but no detect magic spell).
Kn Arcana: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Kn History: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
"Definitely, we should look. We are not here to make friends, so a little chain barring our way is practically an invitation. Let's go."
Which he does, hopping right over the chain after casting heroism on himself.

![]() |

Aglynn follows behind, ducking under the chain.
