The man takes several shots to his sides, but whips out another grenade with remarkable speed, leering at Remi again. "If I go down, I'm taking all of you with me!" The explosive catches most of the Starfinders in its radius, with the new threat closing the gap to Data and releasing a second wave of magical heat!

Stella crawls out from under the table she was under.

Yeah. What she said. Look. Do the math. There's five of us and one of you. And, we're not into wanton killing anyway. Come with us back to Absalom Station, and find some more ... erm ... gainful employment. Heck, you'd probably make a good Starfinder recruit with your skills. So, what do you say?

All things considered, I'll give it to you.

Surrounded by enemies and the corpses of her crew, the tiefling drops her smallarm and puts her hands in the air. "Fine! No more! I just want off this deathtrap. No paycheck is worth this."

Combat over!

With the techie's surrender, the rest of the ship seems clear for investigation.

This was the last formal encounter for the scenario. What do you do with the surrendering attacker? Would you like to work through the rest of the ship manually, or would you prefer to describe your remaining search protocol and get the recap for going through the remaining areas "off-screen"? With no further threats, you can easily take your time exploring the rest of the ship.

See? Stella replies with a smile. It's so much easier when everyone plays nice. So. What's your name? I'm Luce Stellarum Lumen, but most people just call me Luce or Stella, whichever they prefer

Stella's plan is to enter the bridge and download all the ship's and personal logs for transport back to Absalom Station - with some help from those more knowledgeable in computers - plus any sensor readings gathered about the Drift itself.

She may, also, if possible, try to make friends with the tiefling and convince her to join the Starfinders ((I got this tiefling boon ...))

We do what the Sith would want us to do, the same as Anakin did in that fight against Count Duku. We execute him. Just kidding, Data won't do that.
Data will ask him to tell us what he knows about the ship. Will you please sir, what is this ship, what a happened here and anything else you can tell us?

We will take you to Absalom station as promised. she says.

To her companions she adds Lets finish our mission. We need to find what the captain has locked and find the whereabouts of the crew. They deserve it.

I would prefer that you describes the remaining search protocol ;-)

Remi is quite relieved when the captain goes down and the last of their attackers surrenders peacefully. She gets a little of her nerve back and curiously inquires, "If you're not pirates then who hired you to come here? Were you looking for something in particular or just salvage?"

I don't mind fast-forwarding the continued search. I will perception-search a room when I enter, try to undo a trap if I find one, and attempt to hack anything that looks hackable. :)

Action Symbols: (◆), (◆◆), (◆◆◆), (◇), (↺) |

Okay, gonna assume taking 20 to search all remaining rooms...

The techie, named Mysharma, claims that they were mercenaries hired to retrieve a relic from a discrete buyer. She does not know the identity of her employer, only their online tag number (which could be easily spoofed). She does not leap at the opportunity to join the society, but still seems tacitly interested, and very grateful for your mercy.

As you search the crew quarters, bridge, and science lab, a clearer picture of what happens begins to take shape: it looks like the vermin infestation is likely what claimed these Starfinders' lives. As you dig through the rest of the ship, you find some other datapads with their own codes, systematically working your way throughout the ship's compartments to unlock its various caches and recover their treasures (detailed on the Chronicle sheet; crossed out weapon fusions come from the type randomly determined from the scenario).

Most importantly, a hidden panel in the captain's station on the bridge contains a metallic sphere, about 2 feet in diameter and covered in a layer of grime. It’s extraordinarily resilient, resisting any tinkering or abuse you apply to it. You assume this is what you came for, and bring it back with you to Absalom Station.

Back at the Lorespire Complex, Naiaj and MP-8 greet you in the Starscape Chamber. Naiaj listens to you explain what happened to the crew and thanks you for exploring the starship. MP-8 asks to see the relic, which you display. MP-8 wheels up to the artifact and examines it, feeling around its sides. Its eye dims in concentration for a moment, and then its eye reactivates with an air of disappointment. “Strange. This artifact has been lost for so long, one would think its technologies would be rudimentary at best, but there seems to be some sort of advanced, multilayered encryption protecting whatever is inside. What could it be...?”

MP-8 backs away from the artifact. “This is beyond my capabilities to handle. I suppose we will have to table the analysis for the time being.” It turns to Naiaj. “I trust that the church will be able to count on the Society on this matter again in the future? It is a bit disturbing to me that a Society vessel on the brink of death would be so cavalier as to simply vacuum up such an important relic without a thought.”

Naiaj bristles but then closes her eyes and sighs. “I find it disturbing that you would disrespect the memory of the crew without a thought, given that without their sacrifice, we wouldn’t even have this relic in the first place.” She reopens her eyes and bears a tight-lipped smile. “But I suppose that’s neither here nor there at this point. We have the relic now, and believe me, we are just as interested as you in this find, if not more so. I suppose we have no choice but to work together again. The Society will keep the relic safe in the meantime.”

MP-8 nods. “Until we meet again.”

That concludes the scenario! Congratulations! Chronicles are located here. Some details may be missing (I need a faction from Ash, otherwise it'll go to Exo-Guardians because of ease of reporting). Give it a look a let me know if you see any booboos. Post anything missing in the Discussion tab and I can update it.

Exo-Guardian it is! Great Thanks GM :)

Ash is happy to have been able to complete the mission without casualties and having stopped pirates from stolen something belonging to the Starfinder.

She's still annoyed that someone known about the lost relic and tries to stole it before they arrived. Hopefully thanks to their research they were able to avoid any problem and force the pirate to fight.
