Considering that Remerix is resting, now's the chance for all of us to. More fights ahead!

Lynn winds her song down and then takes a seat on the ground with a theatrical "Phew!" She pauses with the team to take a break and recover briefly. "That was super close. But isn't Vossi like, much cuter now that he's not trying to murder us?" She gives Telwyn a wink and a grin.

Lynn also spends a few minutes to transfer a set of jump jets into her armor. OR, if two other people want them, she helps transfer them into their armor.

Then, as the group is getting ready to go, she follows Telwyn to the dino to help hum calmingly as the lashunta does her thing.

Sparks goes up to Vossi: "Don't bite me again, huh? And I won't try to drive a car into you. But do you want to go for a ride?"
Sparks points at the 4x4.
She then starts rubbing her little body against the battered parts of the dino's hide, to soothe it.
The little translator mouse that travels with Sparks then crawls out from behind Sparks' head and starts rubbing Vossi too.
The two "rodents" try to calm the raptor and make it friendly, pointing at Telwyn.

Sparks then casts a spell, making sure this does not panic Vossi.
And she touches the dino'--
Mystic Cure: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
--transferring the last of her life-blood into Vossi.
(last 1st lvl. Mystic spell used) adding 4 HP from Sparks = 11 HP healed for Vossi (and -4 for Sparks)

Touching Vossi, Sparks instantaneously transfers about 10 minutes of information in one moment, using images and feelings to explain that we are Starfinders, here to help, and how the preservationist people want to keep this area a safe haven for Vossi's kind and... showing in detail how Telwyn is such a great person, and in love of dinos, and a great rider, and wants so much to be Vossi's friend, and how incredibly cool it would be for Vossi & Telwyn to be friends and mount & rider. Sparks tries to impart to Vossi the feelings Telwyn showed before, all the excitement and joy and love for Vossi...

Finally, Sparks casts a second spell, touching Vossi again, and having Vossi receive Share Language and thus understand, if not speak, Common, Ysoki and Akitionian.

Share Language:
For 24 hours, the target can read, understand, and communicate to the best of its ability in up to three languages that you already know. This doesn’t change the physical nature of the creature (if it lacks a means of speech, it still can’t talk) or its attitude toward you. It does, however, allow intelligent creatures that normally have no language to understand and (if physically capable) communicate in the languages granted by this spell.

Sparks steps back, and points to Telwyn: "Telwyn, meet Vossi... Vossi meet Telwyn. You should be able to understand one another, and be--"

Twik is a little astonished at his companions abilities. The amount of magical power astounds the little halfling. He retrieves his healing serum from his pack and offers it to Sparks.

"You are looking a little worse for wear my friend. It's not much but it's all I have. You have given sooo much."

Twik grabs one of the sniper rifles and gives it a thorough clean and check over.

"Perhaps we can spring some sort of ambush of our own. Two of our more normal members could borrow the suits from our dead terrorist friends over there and take their place? Im afraid it wouldn't much help me as I'm just a little small."

Wow... okaaaay then!!!

Sparks turns on the renkroda whisperer charm (you also get a little bonus due to the party learning what you all did about renkrodas earlier at the beginning of the scenario) and soon has Vossi licking Sparks out of affection. Granted Vossi's tongue smells like the decayed remnants of his last meal... but it's an affectionate lick nevertheless.

Vossi also turns to look at Remerix directly in the eye, giving him a looks that says, 'Dude, I'm sorry man... I really just wasn't myself, y'know what I mean?'

Sparks then heals Vossi up a bit, performs a psychic download of the latest, greatest Starfinder PR materials and hits Vossi with image after image about how excited Telwyn is about renkrodas, being with them, befriending them, would like to ride them and how depressed she got when everyone told her she was nuts for even thinking it...

And with the share language spell, Vossi can now understand your words... granted he's not exactly a fully sentient creature but he can understand basic commands and concepts - friend, enemy, food, not-food and so on. You can't expect him to understand the philosophy behind nature preserves and why doing so is good for the planet or the economy, for example. But he will understand that you're saving his home and ensuring that he has a place to live.

After Sparks fills Vossi's head with images of being a part of the same gang (yep, they're not 'packs' nor 'herds' but 'gangs') and gloriously hunting for food together, Vossi turns to look at Telwyn again and nuzzles her a bit.

Telwyn, Vossi is looking right at you with an expectant look in his eye...

Twik does find that the gear could possibly help to make a serviceable disguise. And in fact, after the party is done interacting with Vossi, you can decide to approach the gala with stealth, under a disguise, or a mix of both. I'd need a stealth roll from those who will approach using stealth and a disguise roll from those who want to go in undercover as eco-terrorists.

As the party deals with the battle's aftermath, Telwyn is beyond excited with the way things are developing. Laying a hand on his giant terrifying snout, she speaks to Vossi in voice or telepathically if he does respond better to that. "You're our pack now. Others in our pack are in danger - for trying to help you. We need to fight the ones who hurt you to save our gang. Will you help?"

She will try to get Vossi to drink one of her serums of healing. What condition does Vossi appear to be in? If we knocked him out and only healed a little bit, is he close to death? Or did he KO at half health or something like that?

If she gets on his back she'll take her 10 minute rest there! And tell him all about how she came from the stars - all of them did. But her parents had once lived here before her so it's like her home sort of. And she always wanted to meet someone like Vossi. And how all these people were here to help make sure Vossi had enough space and didn't have to stay in a cage forever. But the people who put him in that cage were helping when he was injured. But not the bad ones. But anyway it's probably about time to go eat those bad guys.

Being medium size, if the group decides to go with the disguise route, Telwyn will change into the second skin if needed (ewww dead guy clothes). But given the terrorists' announced pace of murder, she also doesn't want to waste too much time. (Disguise self takes 1d3x10 minutes, which could easily lead to another nameless NPC dying!)

Sparks could slip along discreetly with Twik n'Twich--

--but, seeing the configuration of the terrain, does Sparks feel it is possible to time driving up to the camp at around the same time as the stealthers arrive, and from a different angle than those who will be arriving disguised?
She is thinking of taking the two cars and driving them up someplace where she can point one, put it on autopilot and send it in, then driving the second one in herself (or just driving the one in herself if the autopilot is not possible), to create a sort of diversion.
If it is useless or a waste of your time etc., just use the Stealth

Apologies guys, coming off a 13 hour work day and I've got time for about 6 hours of sleep before I have to head back into the office so I'm not going to be able to get a post up today.

However, to quickly answer a few things OOC...

Telwyn, with your healing serum Vossi is at 20/90 HP currently. He can use more healing but it's up to the party whether to do so or not. Also, no re-roll needed. Your roll is fine.

Riding Vossi is like riding a vehicle. When attacking while riding Vossi, a -4 penalty for Vossi's movement is applied to your attack rolls. And if piloting rolls are needed (such as if you try to ram someone/something), Survival is used instead of Piloting but with a -3 due to the difficulty of handling a renkroda. Bear in mind you could also just simply direct Vossi towards a target... As Remerix and Sparks will attest to, he's got a nasty, nasty bite! One last note - someone else can ride Vossi with you, if anyone wants. Vossi can fit 2 passengers.

Sparks, great idea with the vehicles. Unfortunately, you won't be able to get the vehicles through the force field to enact that plan. I'll address everyone's disguise and stealth rolls in tomorrow's post.

Vossi obviously considers the entire party to be a part of his gang and he seems particularly friendly with Telwyn and Sparks. He's happy to interact with any of you who initiate contact with him, including trying out giving rides on his back to different party members, showing off how loud he roars, giving a friendly lick to anyone who wants it (or perhaps doesn't want it) and so on....

Telwyn does take a rest for SP.

If she can spend 20 minutes to take 20 on a Medicine check to treat deadly wounds with a medkit, she will do that to restore HP equal to Vossi's CR.

Then she'll give him one more healing Serum to drink. this time one of the Mk 2's that we got in-game

If that medicine check is ok, Vossi is probably up to 41-42 HP now. If anyone else feels like it, Vossi could probably use a bit more still. We got those 4 freebie serums back here and Telwyn just used one of them so far. Yes I care more about this vehicle-NPC than any of your characters! jk :p

Also, I guess some of those other three mk 2 serums would be good for Sparks too :)

OK, I'm back home and able to post normally again!

Lynn claps happily when Telwyn and Sparks manage to befriend the massive dino, though as the group prepares to head back to the party, she corners Sparks. "Sparks! I hope you're not going to go back to the party all hurt like that! We're all going to be in danger, and you for sure once those bad guys see how powerful you are." She blows out her cheeks in overacted frustration if Sparks objects at all.

"No saying no Sparkie! You've gotta be strong in case they have another scary renkroda controlled over there. Open wide~" She feeds a healing serum to the little white furred ysoki.

As the group approaches the gala site, but are still about a minute away, Lynn holds a finger up to her chin and whispers "I'm not much for sneaking around, so I'll go distract these guys a little bit. You guys are super awesome, so I know you'll be able to get in and take these bad guys out." She smiles and pumps her fist encouragingly. "Here's a little bit of song to help you Remerix!"

After a deep breath to prepare for a complicated performance, Lynn's face settles into a peaceful expression and she begins to ♪♫ sing a haunting refrain in auran ♪♫. The sonic energy around her builds as she sings, warping the air. She extends a hand towards the skittermander delicately and a portion of the energy siphons off to surround him. In just a few moments, the little skittermander transforms! He grows larger and turns dense and heavy (though he still visibly looks like a skittermander). At the same time, a tail of pure rippling force extends from his back, thrumming against the air. He instinctively knows that it'll react to his thoughts and propel him forwards when he needs it to! (Cast Polymorph, 2nd level: Momentumform)

Twik heads to the gala site ahead of the party to scout out the situation. He sees smashed wood and glassware litter the gala site. Ripped tents, blood splatters, and scorch marks provide clear evidence of a recent battle.

The hostages are all on the dance floor in front of the stage, with their hands and legs in binders and tied to each other with loops of cable line. Ipsoth stands on the stage while three guards are posted all around the dance floor, weapons trained on the hostages. Ipsoth is giving a speech, broadcasting his manifesto to Castrovel using the gala’s infosphere feed.

Twik, go ahead and place yourself anywhere you want on the map.

The rest of the party moves in either trying to be stealthy or disguised as eco-terrorists (it goes without saying that Telwyn and Sparks who are riding Vossi are going the disguise route... there's no stealthing Vossi into the gala area!). However, the disguises are not so convincing and fools no one as the eco-terrorists instantly recognize you're not one of their own!

Twich's attempt to head in undercover doesn't fair much better either as the guards immediately catch on to her presence!

But Lynn manages to stay out of sight given that she's currently invisible....

As you approach and are spotted, Ipsoth declares, "I see my words are not being taken seriously. Well then, once we've taken care of you, half the remaining hostages will be executed immediately!!"

Telwyn will point Vossi in the direction of the three on the stage. "Vossi, go after those three on the high flat place!"

She tries to adjust her arc pistol to handle the jostling for riding up high, but it does no good.

Telwyn, yes, both healing serums could have been applied to Vossi. Sparks, in my opinion, spell cache can be applied to your mystic spells as well. Lynn, no special roll required. The guards appear to have a sniper rifle, laser pistol and knife. Ipsoth seems to have a sonic pistol.

Clearly, just what Remerix needed was -another- appendage. He tries out the form a bit, grinning widely to Lynn. "Hey, that's neat! Thanks!" His enthusiasm wanes as he sees the devastation that the ecoterrorists have wrought and the stark reminder of all the lives lost.

Conferring with Lynn on the most important of choices... music! But assume there's something cool that's going to be retconned here.

Something about this whole scene makes the entire small frame of the skittermander shake with some foreign emotion at the notfriends. His magically enhanced speed mixes with a hyper-skitter-burst, allowing him to nearly fly up and stab the large creature with his pike!

Telwyn directs Vossi where to go in combat and Vossi responds with a growl "ruuur kaaaay..." Then Telwyn fires her pistol but distance is just too far!

Lynn moves in closer and gets a better look at the opposition and their gear.

Remerix, trying to fit in, realizes that there just ain't no hiding his SIX arms and small stature. So why bother? Chaaaaarge!!!! The lil guy moves with BLINDING speed, leaps up, pulls off a backflip, lands onto the stage right next to Ipsoth and stabs with the power of all his forward momentum for 13 points of damage!!

Sparks lays her ysoki paws on Vossi and more of Vossi's wounds seal up in an instant, healing him for 30 points. Even a few scars that had marred Vossi's body heals up! Conversely, Sparks looks noticeably worn out upon completing the spells, having lost 27 points...

Twik leaps up out of nowhere, rhetorically declaring that everyone is to be suprised and immediately lands a hit on the haan for 8 points!!

Twich's magic missiles slam unerringly into Ipsoth for another 11 points of damage!! Ipsoth is looking mighty unhealthy....

Vossi moves quickly but majestically towards the stage where Ipsoth stands. Telwyn and Sparks, this is a horrible situation where hostages were executed and more are currently bound and marked for death... But despite the grim circumstances.... DANG this is cool!! You're riding a FRIKKIN' dinosaur into battle!!

Upon hearing Telwyn's comment regarding ocular lasers, Lynn lets loose several more force bolts, angling them such that they appear to be coming out of Vossi's eyes as they hit purple for 11 points!! Well, at least from the purple eco-terrorist, it appears as though they came from Vossi's eyes!!

Vossi moves forward, leaping up onto the stage towards the red eco-terrorist, nearly throwing Telwyn and Sparks off his back! He then bites at the red terrorist!!!

Sorry, I misunderstood something. I did not understand Remerix is rising. I thought he was just floating around at 30 ft.
Is there any moment from the time Remerix started floating upwards, when he was within 35 feet of Sparks? (I imagine not, but just asking)
Since I can use a spell chip to cast Flight as a Reaction (then lose my next turn's Standard) but it is Close range so 25 feet + 5 feet/2 levels = 35 ft.

One thing I'd like to point out. Twich has the flight spell available, so she can potentially cast it without Sparks having to expend a spell chip. May save a bit on resources and is something the entire table would quickly realize in a face-to-face game as opposed to PBP.

I believe you can't cast the level 1 version of flight on a target that isn't falling, based on the description.

With only one eco-terrorist still fighting, Lynn rushes up to the stage and takes up a position of cover behind the podium. She looks up at Remerix, pausing long enough in her singing it call out "Don't worry Remmy, I'll catch you!" She spreads her arms out as if she'll really catch him that way.

(Lynn will hold her Spell cache slot to cast the 1st level version of flight once Remerix is falling to cancel him injuring himself. That way the rest of the group can focus on the last terrorist)
