I need to update my character sheet to account for the reincarnation. I hope to do that sometime in the next couple of days.

Bragoleb |

Ho, ho, ho. Merry Christmas in September. Does the elder have a bag full of useful adventuring gear?

GM Mervikoth |

Update your PC when you have the time, no worries.
He might have a bag of useful adventuring gear... is that list of items you all want still up to date on the excel sheet? I haven't looked at it in months.

Bragoleb |

I was in Nashville for the past two days and am headed out to D.C. in a couple of hours and will be there for a week. I will post as I have time. I'll need to look at my wish list.

GM Mervikoth |

So big picture update from your GM here, in case you've gotten lost in the weeds:
Main plot update: Slymr has 2 souls. Why? How? What does that mean? And how do you fix it?
New lead: Chimera Cove, which served as this group's base of operations. More info can be found there.
Don't forget, there is also the underwater massive fish Lord Ubaj that swallowed part of the Venerable Theseus ship.
Lord Ubaj and/or Chimera Cove are the next 2 big adventure areas.
To finish up here (epilogue to Swaying Lantern): Ask the Elder lots of questions, he knows the most about Slymr that you've met so far. Having destroyed Slymr's second body, you'll need to talk with Slymr again and see if that helped, and of course talk with Sleepy back at the Swaying Lantern tell her Elder is safe.

GM Mervikoth |

I know some of you are out travelling, so we'll resume daily posting next week.

Lem Helbling |

had a rough couple of days, intended to check in earlier. my apologies... and happy birthday Bragoleb (late?).
my habit is to do most of my posting at work, but haven't been to work in a few days, allergies really knocked me out.

Thurl Wisdombringer |

HP: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Don't forget, we get a stat boost this level as well.

Bragoleb |

The HP rolls seem rather high, two 8 and one 9.
Here goes... If it's a one, I'm re-rolling.
HP: 1d10 ⇒ 6

Arbaro Stuartavelli |

I'm going to be in Florida next week for a work thing. Not sure how many opportunities I'll have to post.

Arbaro Stuartavelli |

Back!
I’ve got an idea for a back up character: Pox Mosscaller, goblin witch with a thirst for vampires. Not wishing death on Arbaro but I like to have one in the wings. I’ll build her up this week. Any recommendations or requests? I plan on her brining a little more chaos to the line up. Hopefully not “haha I’m so random. Turkey baster! Owlbear Jigsaw Puzzle!” But someone to be devils advocate rather than “we good, we pick good options” someone to vote to just leave the problem for someone else or not care about the consequences.
Thoughts?

GM Mervikoth |

I'm down with it.

Thurl Wisdombringer |

Sounds fine to me.

Thurl Wisdombringer |

Looks like brag needs to go in and resize his weapons too because they don't appear to be showing the correct damage dice. They should all be a step smaller.

Yep, I need to figure out how to do that in the YAPCG spreadsheet.
Thanks!

Arbaro Stuartavelli |

@Brag, it is just a drop-down next to the item under the equipment tab, then you have to re-select them under the attack tab because it's a "differnt" weapon.

Thanks. I'll look as soon as I can.

So, in case you need a refresher/recap:
The ship called the Venerable Theseus was shipwrecked in the middle of the ocean, killing its four crew: Slymr (fighter elf), Nineaxes (rogue dwarf), Goyen (half-orc wizard), and Kamalandi (half-elf cleric). Somehow Slymr's body/soul was duplicated into a ghoul, which you dispatched in the snowy mountains of the Swaying Lantern. The other three crew members' body/souls are (spoilers?) also duplicated in some fashion, and you are to hunt the duplicates (and original bodies) down and find out why this happened.
You are in Chimera Cove, the "home base" of this ship/crew to learn more about Theseus and the crew and possibly encounter another dead body/duplicate...
I've probably done a bad job of laying out the main plot as I get lost in the forest for the trees and all that. But that's the jist of it that you should know or at least have been able to infer so far.

Excellent and brief. Thanks for catching us back up.

Thurl Wisdombringer |

Sorry, I’ve got a stomach bug. I’ll try to post tomorrow.

GM Mervikoth |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

I've updated the map with NPCs. And the calendar on my Profile bar thing. I added some NPC names (nothing else) to the NPC tracker, though it looks like we haven't used it much recently. Who was in charge of what aspects of that?
Also, the map on Slides isn't quite accurate. There are a lot more graves and trees surrounding the temple (not just a single, tiny graveyard like on the map), and the temple itself is a little less ruined-looking. But hey, when you make up your own adventures, you work with what you got.

Definition Time!
Sexton - n. - An employee or officer of a church who is responsible for the care and upkeep of church property and sometimes for ringing bells and digging graves.
n. - An under-officer of a church, whose duty it is to act as janitor, and who has charge of the edifice, utensils, furniture, etc.

GM Mervikoth |

I have chosen their titles very carefully. There's even more inside!
EDIT: Map updated with the brewery, and the sepia-colored portraits are all the Roughshod Heels.

Thurl Wisdombringer |

Thanks for that Brag!
I'm leaving on a family vacation tomorrow and will be out of town through sunday so my posting may be spotty until next week.

Bragoleb |

Definition Time, part II
Prioress - n. - A nun in charge of a priory or ranking next below the abbess of an abbey.
n. - A female prior, having charge of a religious house; a woman who is the coadjutor of and next in rank to an abbess.
n. - A lady superior of a priory of nuns, and next in dignity to an abbess.
I'm learning so many new words. Funny thing is they are religious terms and my character is a paladin!

So, I realized the other day, that, in surprise rounds, you are only allowed One action, either a standard action, or a move action. Was this something we knew and didn't follow, or is this new to anyone else?

GM Mervikoth |

That sounds correct. I think I completely forgot about that years ago however, before we started playing online.

GM Mervikoth |

GM Mervikoth wrote:I wasn't specific enough. Brag was targeting two skeltons."Nothing," she says quickly, as Brag makes bone meal out of a skeleton.
You can pass through the barrier, but the undead cannot.
The only skelton you know is Red.

Thurl Wisdombringer |

Hey, what do you think about Thurl spending feats to get extra Ki powers from the Qinggong list?

GM Mervikoth |

So everyone's (except Thurl's) little signature under their name lists their level as 7, but you all are level 8. I would have made this encounter a little more difficult had I remembered/checked the right PC's profile...
Also you all have bludgeoning weapons which is what skeletons are weak to which helps.

Thurl Wisdombringer |

Roccavisk can level to level 6 now.
I already subtracted the XP for this so she's good for level 6. We need 12000 more XP to get her to level 7.

Thurl Wisdombringer |

Also, we currently have 26,000 gold...

GM Mervikoth |

Apologies for the delay; somehow I ended up going to bed at ~8:00 last night.

Thurl Wisdombringer |

Wow, nice!

Thurl Wisdombringer |

I'm still having trouble recognizing Brag's new avatar without putting some thought into it.

Bragoleb |

Me too, but such is the price of death and reincarnation. :)

GM Mervikoth |

I'd post for Arb and Lem (oh, and Roccavisk, I forgot!) but I want to get the round posted and don't have time for the other two. I guess it's just 2v2 this time!

Lem Helbling |

Sorry for the delay! got my character sheet/header in better order and more accessible. Still need to get the level 8 sheet onto the drive though. Been debating over my lvl 8 rage ability.

Bragoleb |

I'm headed to a conference today in San Francisco. I will post as I find time. Let slash this Minotaur into ribbons.

GM Mervikoth |

Well when I'm Lem he does pretty good.
