Toska nods. "Plus leaving food around for people who may or may not show up and move in doesn't sound like the wisest of plans."

"I guess that's true," Auric says. "Well...off to the market then. Unless you want to go to the docks first."

Malyoxa smiles. "So, now that you've entertained me for a bit, what can I do for you?"

Hitome gazes into Malyoxa's eyes, the aasimar's body language relaxed and at ease. "It might be pretty obvious by now, but I'm not used to...voicing my desires." she says with a shy smile. "It's one of the things I really enjoy about you, how direct you are. The answer is that the fact that you're here with me makes me...happy. Whether it's sharing a bottle of wine in the middle of the night, or reading you poems or being intimate or just sitting here...I like spending time with you....it's special."

Toska hmmm for a few seconds. ”Might be best to head to the market first before all the good stuff is taken. I’m pretty sure bread and meats sell faster than spare boats.”

Drago moved left, then at the last moment, shifted his attack from the right. Hoping to catch the old man off-guard.

Oh he's probably capped 30 ways to doomsday, but I can get lucky.

Barclay parries the strike and uses Drago's momentum to send him a few feet past him. The paladin turns to face the dhampir and waits for another attack.

Malyoxa caresses Hitome's cheek and gives her a tender kiss. "I can always try and guess your desires. For now, we can just sit here and enjoy the fire."

"Good point," Auric says, pulling his cloak around him. "Let's get going then."

Hitome returns the kiss with equal tenderness, settling on the couch as she draws Malyoxa into her arms. "There's nowhere I'd rather be."

Toska nods and follows the halfling to market.

Once he and Toska reach the market, the halfling looks over the fruits, vegetables, dry goods and cuts of meat. "Any of this look good to you?"

"I know it's a bit early to ask this question, but what do you think you'll want to do after Blackcrown?" Malyoxa asks.

”Yes. I am suffering option paralysis now.” Toska muses while looking over the available fare.

"You mean after everything has been put down and the houses restored?"Hitome asks, her mind contemplating the possibilities.

Malyoxa nods.

Thinking for a moment she says to the group before them as her love thinks of something to ask, "You know....you have a fresh start, it's up to you what you do with it. I know people can be....cruel when we're different, or hateful because they fear what they don't understand....but, just because you had a past, doesn't mean it has to be your future. Take it from someone that knows what it feels like to be called a freak, and I killed my fair share of people that may or may not have deserved it for various reasons when I was young and didn't understand that other's perceptions of me doesn't define who I am." She finishes before getting quiet and looking away.

Okay...sorry about that, I'm waaaayyyy more effing tired than I even thought I was because that is so totally NOT where the Fu<K that goes. Now I can't even edit it or delete it or anything and I just looking like the big effing moron that I am. Great job moron.

Drago knew when he was licked, "I yield Barclay. I don't think I can do much to you that doesn't involve harmful magic. And I'd rather not do that." Handing over the practice blade, the Dhampir added, "Thanks for bout though, definitely learned a couple things that should help keep me alive."

Namely, don't get into a fight with Barclay.

Barclay chuckles. "When in doubt, go on the defensive. You might get an opening that way."

He takes the practice blades away and notices Rajni sitting nearby. "I'll see you later, Drago."

Yeah...Barclay has been around the proverbial block several several several times and I'm sure is quite proficient in many things that we aren't even aware of.

Auric nods. "Well, maybe we'll get a little bit of everything. A balanced diet and all that. Is there anything you don't like?"

Fairly certain in 2nd Ed terms, he's Legendary Proficiency.

Mmmm...probably. I don't know exactly how to say what's going through my brain, so I'm just gonna say, yeah. Lol

”Sounds good.” Toska replies before tilting his head. ”Huh, I don’t know actually. What about you?”

"Peas. I hate 'em."

”No peas then.”

Auric gets some carrots, corn, chicken and beef. "I didn't find any fish here. Maybe we should check by the docks."

Toska nods. ”Makes sense they’d keep it there.”

Auric fishes some coins out of his belt pouch and pays for the groceries. "That settles the first part of our quest."

”Yep. Now for fish.”

Toska and Auric arrive at the docks and find a middle-aged couple stacking fish for sale.

Make a perception check, Toska.

Eagle Eye Toska spies four men bearing the Kuroikaze's insignia boarding a small boat and taking off toward a small island to the west.

"I wonder if the Kuroikaze have a base over on that island." Toska says as an aside to Auric as he watches them depart.

If it's the lighthouse island, they better not because someone else already inhabits it and it would mean they're going over there tho kill them and take it over most likely. Any way you look at it, they're most likely up to no good.

It's a different island that has always been there, but never been explored.

"That's a possibility," Auric says. "We should let the others know and maybe make a trip over there."

Oooohhhhh...sorry, I misunderstood.

Ugh I replied to this two days ago and now I see it didn't take.

"I hadn't really given it too much thought." Hitome says as she gazes into Mayoxa's eyes, "Until now that is..."

"For most of my life, duty and purpose has been at the center of everything, I didn't really have time to think about what I would truly want given a choice. I think there's maybe a part of me that will always try to help where I can and protect the people around me, but I would very much like to explore getting to enjoy life....with someone who I enjoy being with." the aasimar brushes a lock of golden hair out of the sorceress' face.

"Sounds like a plan, lets get our fish and go find them." Toska states as he looks out towards the island.

Malyoxa beams. "Sounds like we're thinking alike."

Auric selects several tuna and a couple of bass. "We'll drop this stuff off at home and go to Toni's."

Toska nods and pays for the fish.

Auric makes his way back to the house with Toska and quickly puts up their groceries. After that's settled, he heads to the tailor's shop with his companion and knocks on the door. "She probably isn't expecting to see us so soon."

"We definitely are!" Hitome replies, enjoying the truly radiant expression on Makyoxa's face. It felt as if she'd suddenly found what she never knew a large part of her, perhaps the best part of her, was longing for. "It's hard not to when you meet someone who suddenly makes you look at life in a completely different light." she says before leaning in to give the drow a soft kiss.
