I think we have the following:

* Crest worth 100GP
* Five gems worth a total of 125GP
* masterwork studded leather armor worth 175 GP (I'm guessing it's small sized)
* masterwork shortbow worth 330GP (I'm guessing small again)
* 2xleather armour worth a total of 20GP
* 3xspears (probably small) worth a total of 6GP

Which is a total of 756GP worth of stuff, which assuming we can sell for 50% value in town we'd get 378GP for, which on top of the 900GP we have in liquid funds would be 1278, split five ways is 255GP 6SP.

Woohoo maths! On the other hand a wand of cure light wounds would be a purchase that would help the whole party directly so I'd suggest investing (assuming they are available here) in that and splitting the rest ((1278-750) / 5) would give 105GP 6 SP each).

What do you think? GM please let me know if any of those assumptions are wrong and if I've messed up the arithmatic anyway.

The only correction is that you probably could get full price for the crest from a history buff, but you'd have to find a buyer in town. So if you want to just pawn it off for 50% you can do that, or wait later for an additional 50gp - your call!

A wand is 750gp. Let's see if you can find one. Belhaim is a small town, so your base value is 1000 gp and you have a 75% chance to find your wand.

How do you like doing shopping? All through role playing or is there a list of the available magic items rolled on a table that we can peruse?

I'm flexible - I'm more than happy to engage in roleplay for whatever you guys want to do!

If you were to ask my preference, I tend to find shopping a time consuming activity that typically focuses on a single player rather than the larger group. Because of that, I often just wave those scenes unless they are relevant to a key npc or one of the players wants to foster a relationship with someone. Again, I'm happy to pursue any RP you want.

I can easily generate an available magical treasure list if you like:

If my math is correct, and accounting for both the items that Yngvilda listed earlier (but omitting the crest and the mithral daggers), each player would be receiving:

406 gp, 1 sp + (value of gems in the chest)/5

Galandram will probably know the value of the gems in the chest within 20% (though a successful Aid Another from Eldon or anyone else would I believe get rid of that ambiguity).

If we add in the values of the gems and teak case that Galandram and Bri just identified, the per capita total comes up to 406.1 + 800/5 = 566 gp, 1 sp (by my reckoning).

That sounds good to me, and I'm happy to skip the role-playing of shopping, I agree it can be time consuming and tedious for players not involved.

Wow......does anyone need anything lol? As a noble, Bri had quiet a bit of change before so I suddenly find myself with about 1,095 gp. Should I just get a cloak of resistance?

Also are we leaving immediately? Bri could create a couple scrolls of cure light wounds or other things if we have a few hours.

By all means go for the cloak, but if you wanted to lend Yngvilda 200 (or even 350GP) for her to purchase one of the finer breastplates on display in the shop instead of the one I said she purchased she would gladly accept!

Sure that is not a problem at all. You can also roleplay it so that you are picking up pieces and snippets over a period of time, whatever works!

Apologies, was traveling for a conference and had limited opportunity to post.

Galandram picked up a masterwork rapier (sold his rapier for 50%), masterwork thieves' tools, and a masterwork backpack. Since these are all mundane items, I'm assuming he can find them in town without rolling.

I'm also assuming that (for the sake of carrying capacity) Galandram was able to convert his remaining 110 gp to 11 pp in town, although if preferred, he could probably keep that in gems that we found.

For the future: Oil of Bless Weapon available?: 1d100 ⇒ 90 > 25 so available

I remembered someone was colorblind, but I couldn't remember the specifics. I thought rather than constantly guessing at colors I would use different shapes. If this doesn't work, let me know the colors that work again and I'll make a list that stays on the site and I'll use those moving forward.

Recruiting sounds like a good idea to me!

I think classes-wise we're missing a trap disabler without Galandram and we've lost some healing potential with Cei, but I don't think an unbalanced party is that big of an issue, having everyone engaged and excited to be playing is more important probably.

No. What I said above is the standard allotment per level for background skills. I'm granting a free onetime starting bonus for a craft/profession/perform. So at level 2 you should have 5 ranks in background skills.

Before I get fully into hammering the character out, any issues with an archery Ranger? Maybe a little cliche but I'm leaning towards hunter style, outdoorsman sort. Based on the initial hook for the campaign I was thinking he came into town to sell some furs and such, but I'm not certain how us new guys are going to be dropped in to the game so I can adjust that.
