About Cei

Description: Cei stands at average height, with a well muscled body. He has long dark hair that hangs loose over his shoulders. The only indication that he is different from other humans comes from the slight glow of his skin, almost seeming, but not quite, like he would shine like candle in the darkness.

Special Abilities:
Channel Positive Energy (1d6 / 7/day / (DC 14): Regardless of alignment, any cleric can release a wave of energy by channeling the power of her faith through her holy symbol.

A good cleric (or a neutral cleric who worships a good deity) channels positive energy and can choose to deal damage to undead creatures or to heal living creatures.

Channeling energy causes a burst that affects all creatures of one type (either undead or living) in a 30-foot radius centered on the cleric.

Hand of the Acolyte (Magic Domain / 6/day): You can cause your melee weapon to fly from your grasp and strike a foe before instantly returning. As a standard action, you can make a single attack using a melee weapon at a range of 30 feet. This attack is treated as a ranged attack with a thrown weapon, except that you add your Wisdom modifier to the attack roll instead of your Dexterity modifier (damage still relies on Strength). This ability cannot be used to perform a combat maneuver.

Destructive Smite (Catastrophe Domain / +1 / 6/day): The supernatural ability to make a single melee attack with a morale bonus on damage rolls equal to 1/2 your cleric level (minimum 1). You must declare the destructive smite before making the attack.

Background:
Cei was born to two wonderful parents who cared for him a lot. They treated him kindly and taught him what they could. But not long after his birth, it became apparent that Cei had a heavenly heritage that his parents did not have. They knew Cei would outlive them by a long time--they had already been fairly old when they'd finally been able to have a child. So, as a young child, they brought him out to Wispil. There they made friends with a gnomish couple who had no children. Cei spent a lot of time with these gnomes as he grew, and they taught him what they could about his long-lived life, as his parents grew frailer and older.

The gnomes taught Cei much about life, but most importantly, they still clung to the faiths of the First World. They taught Cei about the Eldest. Cei was immediately attracted to Shyka and their great grasp of time, especially as he watched his parents grow old, at what seemed to him an alarming rate. Eventually, they died peacfully of old age, his gnomeish family brought him in, and Cei dedicated himself to Shyka.

He never did find out what it was that made Shyka choose to empower him, but eventually they did. Cei now decided it was time for him to go out and experience the world and watching it change.
