Approaching their two compatriots banging on the door, Blue-Jay watches for a moment before speaking up. "Let us see if a more gentle touch can open this any easier." That said, they step up and attempt to unlock the door.

Blue-Jay 29 finessed the door open, and it gave a squeal as the locks and hinges complained about the rough treatment at the hands (and feet) of Vee-Vee. The smell of death wafted out of the domicile, and inside you can see a cramped one-room apartment. The bed is draped with sweat- and filth-covered sheets covering something (somebody?), and a computer sits on a small table nearby. Piles of broken equipment in various stages of repair show how Shenge made his modest income.

Vee-Vee |

"Oh?", Vee-Vee is amazed at how Blue-Jay got the door open.

Oraeus steps into the room and chokes back the bile and memories that rise to the surface at the smell. I am not going to go back there! Even in my head...
He activates the enviromental protections on his armor and takes a moment to breath as the smell gets filtered out. Shaking his heade to clear away the mental distress he finally gives the room a good looking over.
"Well that looks like part of a body... Could that be the arm that was replaced with the augmenation that sent us on this whole chase?"

The body was definitely that of a halfling, and Vee-Vee and Te are quite certain that the discoloration in the arm is a datajack, and the cause of death. It appears that the circuitry connecting the datajack to the brain grew out of control, as evidenced by the bulging data lines just under the skin in the halfling's arms and up his neck, where they disappeared into the skull. As Vee-vee was holding the arm up for Te to look at, circuitry in the datajack began pulsing with light. To no one's everyone's shock and surprise, the dead body started to rise and stand. The engorged left hand, just below the datajack, snapped off at the wrist, leaving a smear of clotted blood and rotting tissue on the floor as it stood.

Oraeus gives a squimish shudder as the body of the halfling is revealed. "Ugh, what in the name of Triune could have caused this?" He then jumps back as the thing starts to rise, trying to desperately not look at the wrist and nonexistent hand.
Quickly assessing the thing was a threat and should be neutralized as soon as possible, Oraeus reaches down and pulls out the loops of chains hanging from his belt with one hand and with a series of gestures starts casting a spell with the other. He finishes the spell and with a sparking hand, reaches out to try touching one of the data lines in the dead thing in front of him, hoping that the metal would direct the electricity to the critical spots of whatever machinery is controlling the body.
He then grasps the chains with both hands and presses a button, causing a series of small holes on the chains to spark and then light, like a giant gas burner. Oraeus gives the flames a squinted look for a second and then turns down a knob the flames dropping in height as well.

Oraeus gives a curse as his palm fails to make contact with the body of the zombie. The mercenary then rears back and tries to slap his still sparking hand across the face of the zombie.

The small living area had nothing else of interest, though Blue-Jay 29 searched it thoroughly. He was desultorily trying to get into Shenge's computer when the sound of running footsteps could be heard outside. There was a knock and the halfling child, Senndi, was there, eye wide and staring at the ruin that was once Shenge. He started gagging, then turned to vomit on the ground.
"Da...Da...be he talking to some of Shenge's acquaintances and...be he saying that be they told him where the clinic folks be they living, in the Ring. And that AbadarCorp rep, be he saying to give this to you. Be it the address be he tracking down after be Da talking to him."
