"Mikos, um. Is Ben looking more, you know, buff? Is it me?" Rodi asks in an undertone.
M Human (Rostlander) Fighter 4; AC 21, HP 29/52 wounded 1; spot +9
"Hard to tell with dwarves, Mikos responds. "Something is definitely different though."
"Yeah, I'm ready, Keg. Let's walk down though. Until we can all Spiral down at once, I think it's too dangerous. Especially if they've fixed that gate."
Male Dwarf Fighter 4; HP 58/58; AC 19; Fort +10; Ref +10; Will +10; Perc +10
Ben stands slowly, packing his camp supplies and readying his bow. You can't quite tell, but something is definitely different about the normally timid dwarf.
"Well, let's go deal with these sphincters."
You leave the benighted surface ruins behind and descend the stairs. You pass through the cellar level and continue down. Some fifteen minutes later, you reach the landing just outside the Splinterden.
The first thing you notice is that the sally port has been closed. The bodies of the fallen Splinters are also gone, and you see trails of blood where the bodies were dragged leading through the gate. The gate has been closed and re-locked, but the damage you inflicted remains.
The northern gate to the spire chamber has also been closed and locked.
You do not see any Splinter guards in the area.
Map updated. Plans?
Male Dwarf Cleric of Cayden Cailen (HP: 47/54), AC: 19 (21 w/shield); F: 10 / R: 5 / W: 10; Perception: +8)
The Keg will move like a kitten wearing iron shod boots up to the murder holes to glance in and see what he can see, his damaged shield up in front of him.
"Canya open the sally port from this side, Rodi?"
Gnome Rog4; HP 48/48; AC 21; F+8, R+11, W+9, Perc +9 (+10 vs traps)
Did I have a chance to get or craft new picks? If so, yes. If no, no.

"Doesn't look like they've totally abandoned the place. Poor choice." Mikos muses. "Let's just tear the damn door off it's hinges."
Male Dwarf Cleric of Cayden Cailen (HP: 47/54), AC: 19 (21 w/shield); F: 10 / R: 5 / W: 10; Perception: +8)
"Got it."
The Keg busts out his crowbar and gets to work.
Break: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 1 = 26
Oooh, Critical success means we are in, right!?
Male Dwarf Fighter 4; HP 58/58; AC 19; Fort +10; Ref +10; Will +10; Perc +10
Ben waits, bow ready and watching in the other direction from the group.
Male Dwarf Cleric of Cayden Cailen (HP: 47/54), AC: 19 (21 w/shield); F: 10 / R: 5 / W: 10; Perception: +8)
And that should be a 29 ... Athletics is +8 not +5
The Keg gives the crowbar a heft and the sally port opens with a loud crack as the wooden bar behind it shatters.
Moving into the armory, you spot a Splinter scout trying to move stealthily away from you in the corridor beyond.
Actions?
M Human (Rostlander) Fighter 4; AC 21, HP 29/52 wounded 1; spot +9
"Alright," Mikos smiles as the door is torn open. His eyes narrow at the sight of the retreating scout. He almost charges after though he isn't much faster than his short-legged companions in his armor. "Hmmm, does this feel like a trap?" he asks and instead starts firing his bow at the figure.
Male Dwarf Cleric of Cayden Cailen (HP: 47/54), AC: 19 (21 w/shield); F: 10 / R: 5 / W: 10; Perception: +8)
"Eh, shoot 'em first and we'll figure out if it's a trap later."
The Keg casts divine lance at the fleeing scout.

deadly crit: 2d10 + 4 ⇒ (9, 1) + 4 = 14
You react quickly, moving up and attacking the scout before he realizes you've seen him. The Keg hits him with a divine missile then Mikos drops him with a deadeye shot.
You hold a few moments and realize the scout was alone.
Where to next?
M Human (Rostlander) Fighter 4; AC 21, HP 29/52 wounded 1; spot +9
"You want to make sure they havent set any traps, Rodi?" Mikos rasps peering around suspiciously.
Gnome Rog4; HP 48/48; AC 21; F+8, R+11, W+9, Perc +9 (+10 vs traps)
Rodi nods and creeps forward. Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Rodi checks thoroughly through the end of the hallway, finding no traps.
Looking down the next hall, the door to your immediate east is still closed, as are the ones further down. Only the three doors on the east wall are open. The area remains quiet.
Moved the tokens (and realize I need to update Ben's)

Mikos looks to the others. "Should we start with the closest door or start with the open ones?"
Male Dwarf Cleric of Cayden Cailen (HP: 47/54), AC: 19 (21 w/shield); F: 10 / R: 5 / W: 10; Perception: +8)
"Closest. These bastich's have a#$**@!+d us before."
Male Dwarf Fighter 4; HP 58/58; AC 19; Fort +10; Ref +10; Will +10; Perc +10
Ben nods. "I'm sure they've setup a trap for us, keep your eyes open Keg."
M Human (Rostlander) Fighter 4; AC 21, HP 29/52 wounded 1; spot +9
"You got your bow ready this time, Ben? A little slow on the draw earlier." Mikos switches to his sword and goes up to inspect the closest door.
spot: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
seeing that it looks clear, he opens it.
Mikos makes a (very) cursory scan of the door then opens it. This chamber is a small barracks with a pair of double bunks and a small privy in the north wall. The eastern portion of the room is partitioned into a pair of cells with doors made from iron bars. Inside each is a shoddy bunk and a rusty bucket.
M Human (Rostlander) Fighter 4; AC 21, HP 29/52 wounded 1; spot +9

Seeing no Sphincters to poke, Mikos moves along.

"Eh, look at this dust. No Sphincters using this room. Wonder why not?
M Human (Rostlander) Fighter 4; AC 21, HP 29/52 wounded 1; spot +9
Ha! that may be the first time that a 1 was just as effective as a 20 :)
Mikos shrugs and continues down the corridor while hugging the wall. He peers around the corner through the open doors.
Male Dwarf Fighter 4; HP 58/58; AC 19; Fort +10; Ref +10; Will +10; Perc +10
"Bow is ready Mikos, don't you worry."
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
"Maybe a trap in the next room? Just too hard to get to or something like that."
Male Dwarf Cleric of Cayden Cailen (HP: 47/54), AC: 19 (21 w/shield); F: 10 / R: 5 / W: 10; Perception: +8)
The Keg takes one lingering look at the room and then shrugs, "No one here, no loot ... bah," and closes the door, heading down the hall.
Just before he closes the door, The Keg and Ben see something move in the shadows of the northern cell. It is an amorphous blob of oozing fleshy sludge covered in dozens of yammering mouths. As the abomination splashes toward you, you hear a din of maddening voices echo through the room.
All: DC 19 Will save or be confused for 1 round! We'll use your Perception rolls above vs 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20 for intiative... The Keg and Ben are up!

Will: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
You're in range (60 ft). Occultism check if you want to know more about the thing.

Mikos stares in confusion at Rodi's outburst. "What are you babbling about? What is everyone babbling about?"

The Keg stares at his comrades, "What in the ever-drunk God's balls are you all going on about?"
He then slams the door shut, "Guess we know why this room is empty!"
Any way to brace or bar the door?
The Keg looks around for something heavy.

Will Save DC 19: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Oh balls.
The Keg reacts and slams the door closed. He looks around for something to bar or block it, and notes the hallway behind is filled with several crates.
The rest of you lose your minds for a moment...
Confusion in PF2 is a bit different than what we've used before. You are flat-footed, don't treat anyone as an ally, and cannot delay, ready or use reactions.
You must use all your actions to strike or cast offensive cantrips, or make other actions to facilitate these (such as drawing a weapon or moving). Your targets are determined randomly, and if you have no viable targets, you target yourself.
Each time you take damage from an attack or spell, you can attempt a DC 11 flat check to end the condition.
Using alphabetical order, ignoring self...
Ben Target: 1d3 ⇒ 1 => The Keg!
Rodi Target: 1d3 ⇒ 2 => The Keg!!
Mikos Target: 1d3 ⇒ 2 => The Keg!!!
Roll your confused attacks!
Male Dwarf Cleric of Cayden Cailen (HP: 47/54), AC: 19 (21 w/shield); F: 10 / R: 5 / W: 10; Perception: +8)
Mm, knowing that? I'd have at least raised my shield
Would The Keg know that? Occultism check to identify the creature and maybe know what's happening.

I preferred the random roll of confusion. No good deed goes unpunished, Keg.

Rodi strikes! "Purple murder rabbit toes!"

Rapier!: 1d20 + 7 - 5 ⇒ (1) + 7 - 5 = 3 for 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 damage!
Rapier!: 1d20 + 7 - 10 ⇒ (20) + 7 - 10 = 17 for 2d6 + 6 + 1d8 ⇒ (4, 3) + 6 + (4) = 17 damage!

Yeah, its simpler but lacks the flavor. This version can be super-nasty against a mob of enemies, however!

To sum up, I'll either eat Rodi's crit or block a portion of it with my shield and have it destroyed, so I'll just go with eating the crit. There were no attacks at 19 or 20 where the +2 AC would've made a difference. Although for the amount of damage. He rolled a 20, but didn't beat my AC, is it still a critical success or is it just a success?
Ducking and dodging the unexpected assault from his party, the Keg does well until Rodi slips a particularly painful strike into the dwarf's ribs .. the rest bang off his armor or miss completely.
"Ow, damn it, half-pint! Watch where you stick that thing ... it's a holy weapon, you know. Treat it with respect!"
The Keg does raise his shield and watches the three of his comrades carefully as he inches over toward the crates, growling menacingy "Iffun you're done, come help me move these things. Iffun you're not, you won't find me easy meat ..."
Since he wouldn't be aware that it's complete, he readies a sound burst in case they move to attack again
Raise, stride, ready
@Keg: sure, you can tell something's wrong with that check. After the door is closed, the effect wears off after one round.
Mikos, Ben and Rodi regain their wits. You all can still hear the thing gibbering nonsense beyond the door.

"Hey, what happened to that horrible purple rabbit ooze I was stabbing? And why are you bleeding, Keg?"
