GM Doom 'n Gloom |
Looking to start on Friday September 28th. Will that be enough time for everyone to level up/make purchases?
Ýridhrendir |
Sounds perfect. Ren will be ready by then to continue traveling the path to Azlant Ridge.
Ninja dotted in the gameplay tab.
Durvak Stoutheart |
Believe I'm leveled. Will doublecheck.
For your information, purchased a Pearl of Power (Level 1) for 1k gold and a Wand of Obscurring Mist for 2 PP.
Ahmandé |
May do some shopping, but otherwise Ahmande is ready! Shopping to be completed before we start on Friday.
Kaya Leafwing |
Kaya will be ready, she probably doesn't even have shopping to do, just the couple spells added to her spell list.
Question, would anyone mind if my wife hopped back in for this session? I think she would end up playing a pregen (4) so she wouldn't be risking instant death as a lvl 1.
She played with us way back at the beginning on Niza, the druid.
GM Doom 'n Gloom |
Looking forward to seeing her. Just a reminder to have her select a CORE pregen.
Looks like everyone has their chronicles, so I will close this out in a day or to.
Lini & Droogami |
Hey everyone! I believe Kaya (my husband) got me all set up to play again. I look forward to the game starting!
GM Doom 'n Gloom |
Here is the link to the map for Part 2: Rescue at Azlant Ridge.
I duplicated the old icons, stats and marching order. Please update them if you have leveled. Feel free to rearrange the order to match your latest arrivals.
Sarathor Naefiel |
Sarathors perception is now +9 the map is currently view only so I cant change it or place my minis
GM Doom 'n Gloom |
Alright, I hope that fixes the map.
Ahmandé |
In just a couple of hours, I'm heading out of town for my cousin's wedding. I'll be mostly out of touch until Sunday PM. When I'm able to get on, I'll have more of an opportunity to read and less to post due to the type of device I'll have with me, so feel free to bot me if I'm causing a delay.
Ahmandé |
This is a heads-up that I'm going to be traveling tomorrow through Monday (26-29 Oct) and will likely not be able to post while I'm away. Please bot me if I'm holding anything up.
GM Doom 'n Gloom |
No worries, thanks for the heads up. Safe travels.
Sarathor Naefiel |
At a con this weekend and also remembering more than I’d like about this scenario
Kaya Leafwing |
Not at a con, and also not remembering anything about this specific part of the scenario (later stuff, yeah but this stuff here nope!).
GM Doom 'n Gloom |
With two down and Ren missing, let's table this weekend and start up Monday. That should cut down on any 'botting' needed.
Durvak Stoutheart |
Works for me. The only thing I really remember from this is my teleportation wizard had a bad time. :-P
See you all Monday.
GM Doom 'n Gloom |
Spoke to Ren last night. I believe he should be able to post soon (hopefully today).
GM Doom 'n Gloom |
Sorry, work and life. Will get a post up Friday or Saturday at the latest.
GM Doom 'n Gloom |
It looks like Ren will not be returning any time soon, so we will move forward without him when we reach the next encounter.
Kaya Leafwing |
Understood about all. Real Life is more important and can get crazy!
Ahmandé |
We're approaching Thanksgiving here in America, so this is an early heads-up that I won't be available starting Wed afternoon through Sunday evening. I won't have access to either my home or work computers, so I don't expect to be able to post at all during my absence. Please bot me as needed! (Bot Me spoiler provided)
Ahmandé |
Cross-posting in all of my games; apologies if you see this more than once.
Tomorrow, I head out for a weeklong vacation to where there are beaches, sunshine, and tropical beverages. I intend to be taking utmost advantage of all of the above (especially the latter). As such, I may have difficulty posting while I'm away; please bot me if necessary.
That said, the resort does have free WiFi, and I just got a new keyboard for my iPad that should allow me to post better on vacation than I ever have been able to before. I will be trying to keep up with all of my games as much as possible.
I expect, though, that my posts will necessarily be brief, even to the point of simply making my rolls without much roleplay. If I am silent in social situations, or not posting my combats, please err on the side of botting me early, rather than waiting; it will likely be better for us all that way.
Thanks!

Uh...take me with you?! :-P Enjoy

GM ruling please. I've looked on the forums and only found an argument.
Can one take a 5-ft step OUT of difficult terrain if they are on the edge of said difficult terrain? It seems the rule of movement tends to lean towards the terrain matters for the square you step into to me, but then again, there was a decent argument made to include any square's penalty that you occupy when moving.
I'm asking for a friend... Okay, I'm asking for Droogami, I don't know if he's a friend to me or not. :P
Croaki |
Quietly moves Croaki into the sq he thought he had 5 foot stepped in all along. I have always been in the terrain you move into matters camp hence Croakis last turn
GM Doom 'n Gloom |
As far as I know, moving INTO difficult terrain costs extra movement. Leaving (moving OUT OF) difficult terrain does not. So, someone can take a 5' step out of DT.
Ahmandé |
I just wanted to make this quick post to let you all know that I'm back! As you may have noticed, my goal to post during vacation was a complete failure, so I have a lot to get to; it could easily take me all day to catch up on all of my games.
I'm cross-posting this note to all of my games early. Please feel free to continue to bot me until I post in Gameplay, if there's an urgent need; otherwise, I'll post before the end of the day if my character is up. Thanks!

Good deal, I concur with that ruling. It makes the most sense and seems to have the most written rule support.

Hello all!
I believe that this scenario is getting near the end and figured I'd ask about what we wish to do going forward as well as make a proposal. I, for one, wish to continue playing with this group. We have a good time together.
My proposal.
I'm currently free from GM'ing anything and have been trying to figure out a way to get my wife's character caught up to our levels. I don't think any of us wish to play slow for a big chunk of scenarios (which I think would be over 10). But I do have a possible shortcut.
The shortcut would be to play the Gallows of Madness module parts 1, 2 & 3. Each part of the module is worth 3 XP, so at the end each player would be lvl 4.
The downside to this, is you essentially have to start at level 1 to actually complete the series. However, this means that you could build a new lvl 1 character to run through it, and at the end could decide to either take that new character or your current one onto whatever missions we continue on with. Obviously I've floated this idea to my wife and she is excited about being able to get her lvl 1 druid up even with the group.
Thoughts?
Does anyone wish to bow out of the group in general?
Has anyone heard anything from Ren? I'm assuming he is pretty much done with the group unless someone says differently.
Ahmandé |
I like that idea a lot. I've played Gallows of Madness in classic/standard play, and it's a lot of fun. I can definitely tone down my OOC knowledge of the modules.
I just worked up a half-orc sorcerer that I think will be very fun to play. I'm in!
Kaya Leafwing |
:)
Kord Shatterspine |
Yes, we are close to done. I hope to kick it in to high gear now that Winter Break is here.
Ren has been super busy in real life. Not certain if he can continue anytime soon. But trust me, it has nothing to do with how he feels about our group. He misses playing with us and is longing to have the time to join us.
Would the new group be CORE as well? It makes sense if we are trying to catch someone up.
In any case, I am up for continuing in any fashion. Looks like we have a druid and an arcane caster so far. In addition to Kord, I have a CORE ranger/rogue, ninja (Fighter/rogue/monk) and cleric. I have an idea for a melee TWF build or a Bard, but open to fill whatever roll we need.
Sarathor Naefiel |
Mm I have an idea for an admirer of Colson Moldris (old liberties edge leader) and the way he just gets things done. Of the same school of doing what needs to be done and keeping his cards close to his chest
[spoiler]probably cleric of norborger but maybe rogue[/dpoiler]
Kaya Leafwing |
Got the gallows module today, started reading some of it. It appears to be an excellent adventure. It is set in a small town in Isger.
Fair warning, the townsfolk hate evil deity worship, witches and the Sarini family. I won’t stop someone from playing a PC related to the first two of those, but a Sarini need not apply. There are legit rules for how the town would react to one of that family name and it rhymes with gallows... er I guess it is gallows.
Anyway, figured I’d check in to let you all know I’ll be ready to go with this whenever we finish off the apes (or they finish us off...).
Durvak Stoutheart |
Sorry for my absence. Seems the Christmas Holiday stuffs kept me away from the computer more than I'd anticipated.
Catching up now.
Durvak Stoutheart |
With your own healing there, you should be full Ahmande. The post prior to yours I gave you 11 HP with my spell.
Kaya Leafwing |
With the pending Gallows of Madness modules coming up, it is also possible to slow track a lvl 2 PC and still complete all three modules. I say this in case someone has a Core lvl 2 they want to play and doesn't want to make a new character.
In addition, if the same PC plays all 3 modules you receive a 4th chronicle. This 4th chronicle can boost said PC from lvl 4 to lvl 5.
So, in theory, the entire group could be lvl 5 after the 3 modules.
Liet-Gar Zirulak |
Durvak here.
I plan to take this newly formed core PC for gallows.
GM Doom 'n Gloom |
Sorry for the delay. I will get a post up Saturday.
Fromagalli |
this guy is who I'll be playing just trying to work out if he's going to go eldritch night/arcane archer/or the previously mentioned cleric who will be dipping 2 levels of bard. Both arcane will have a level of ranger
Just hit level 2 was lining him up for a game that fell through I know he used both wands he had purchased so hes got those not sure on the rest of his gear
Kaya Leafwing |
Just a heads up on the next game, I got tabbed at the last second to replace a GM for one of the Specials that just started so I've been frantically trying to crank out the prep for that high paced adventure.
Thus, I won't be in a huge rush to begin the gallows series, though it really won't be that long. It'll probably be a week or two before we get moving on it.
Dimple McSweetness |
For the record, I am leaning toward playing a CORE bard.
Durvak Stoutheart |
For your chronicle filling needs...
