The conduit is 2 feet by 3 feet, and filled with 9 inches of water. characters will have to slosh through on their hands and knees.
You are not able to infravisualize the fish.
GM Rolls
Nahla disappears and five rounds later he returns, saying "Mistress, I was again successful."
Fadilah al-Qadib
"Thank you once more, Nahla. I suppose... here goes."
Fadilah climbs over the side, speaks a simple word, and then floats down with her tiny water spirit on her shoulder. She lands in the water with a light splish and almost immediately regrets the decision.
"This place is tiny! How could we find a single fish down here?"
Fadilah al-Qadib
"Do you happen to have a worm handy?" says Fadilah.
"I can't believe I'm down here looking for a fish! I must be a fool."
GMEDWIN
The guards peer over the edge of the well and one says, "Shawish, should we jump in after them?"
The older man says, "Rashtul, no, they will come out on their own... wait... do you know where that cistern goes? Sharmuta!"
You help you new found colleagues into the tunnel. The narrow tunnel from the well leads into the top of a cistern, filled with 9 feet of water. here are no ledges or protrusions so characters will have to treadwater to stay afloat.
Chipluck [spoiler] You can see with your infravision that there are two tunnels underwater. Two underwater tunnels, each 3 feet in diameter, exit the cistern, heading north and east; faint light can be seen filtering through the eastern tunnel.
Chipluck
The stone walls were a slightly different temperature than the water, it was just enough for Chip's elven eyes to note the passages... "2 tunnels branch from here...one there...one there..." he points with his nose as he treads water "...light at the end of that one, perhaps a return to the surface? I'll get a better look..." and with that he takes big gulps of air before diving under the blanket of black.
Can I just swim closer through the tunnel towards the light and try to see whats there while still under water?
Orven
Desirous not to see his employee drown on the job, Orven tries to swim over and help Chipluck.
Swim: 1d20 ⇒ 19
Hampered by his luggage, Orven joins Chipluck in a swift race to the bottom.
Orven
Everyone drowns. Adventure over.
This literally made me start laughing at work. Fortunately, no one else is here.
Constitution: 1d20 ⇒ 16
Swim: 1d20 ⇒ 9
GMEDWIN
Orven swims his way up to the tunnel they are going to scout and then crawls further.
Nura ties rope to herself and then to a loose part of the cistern and then jumps down to the others.
Knowing she is anchored she grabs Fadi pulls her to the surface, instructs her to hold on to the rope and then gets Chipluck.
Nura Swim 1d20 ⇒ 18 because of the rope is able to get a feel for the water and swims to the otherside and the tunnel. The rest of you use her rope as a guide to get to the tunnel where Orven is.
After 30 feet, the eastern tunnel opens into a shallow bathing pool, lined with glazed green tiles. The heavy iron grating that used to cover the mouth of the tunnel lies on the bottom of the pool, twisted into a pile of scrap. Relieved you get out of the water and you come into the bath of an old bath house.
Now, the room is a shambles. Most of the colored tiles covering the walls have been ripped off and scattered across the floor, along with animal fur, feathers, and bird dung. In the western wall, the former entrance to the room, leading to the rest of the bath-house, has been walled over with bricks.
There is an overturned marble bench along the northern wall.
A narrow window pierces the eastern wall 11 feet above the floor.
On the southern wall you see the wall is blocked by some not yet dried plaster.

GM Rolls [spoiler] Party 1d10 ⇒ 2, Centepedes 1d10 ⇒ 2 [spoiler]
Chipluck flips the marble bench right side up and underneath said bench are 12 centepedes, confounded... both sides are surprised.
At this point you jump back into the pool or crash through the plaster but if you choose to attack, I will roll initiative.
Chipluck
Startled, Chip suddenly performs a move you've only seen highly trained acrobats perform as if by instinct, putting him far from danger...
Tumbling: 1d20 ⇒ 17 and AC decreases to 2
...he follows it up by drawing a pair of rusty pieces of iron that might have once been daggers from his sleeves, ready to throw.
Nabila Al-Qut Min Najm
Dressed in airy light blue robes that are a little dirty at the hem and riding boots long since broken in, Nabila quietly stalked the wares of the bazaar, hoping to find something she didn't know she was looking for. Often she stopped to examine some briefly piquant object, but nothing held her fascination for long until the scuffle happened. She winced with the crowd and hung on every bit of the fish drama, but what really caught her attention was the strange outlander.
So exotic! she thought. And so lost here! That beggar will eat him alive!
She rushed to the edge when descending shouts were heard from the well where her exotic stranger and two other women had gone in search of the fish. Nabila shurgged and removed the scarf from her head, then sat on the edge and gripped the rope, ignoring the guards and their debate.
Climb: 1d100 ⇒ 34
She lowered herself slowly down, allowing her elven eyes to adjust to the cool darkness of the well. At the bottom she wonders briefly which way to go, concerned by the water she cannot swim easily through. When she sees a rope she gently plucks it, testing to see if it is taut. I hope they did not drown. That would not be at all fascinating. Shrugging again she pulls the rope a little more firmly, checking to see if there is any give to it.
Orven
Climbing out of the pool, Orven turned and helped the others out as well. He then poured the water out of the vase he was carrying, which turned out to be made of what appeared to be porcelain with gold and platinum inlay in the form of runes that covered the bottom and ran in a ring around the base.
Sure that all of the cistern water was out, Orven turned back just in time to see the end of Chipluck's backflip. He then looked in response to the centipedes that were moving to attack them.
Nabila Al-Qut Min Najm
Nabila wades into the water, holding the rope as a guide, then using it to help keep her head above water. Hand over hand she pulls herself to follow the rope's end.
I am not sure exactly how far she can get like that in a combat turn, but she is just trying to catch up to the others at this point.
Fadilah al-Qadib
"Nahla, best you be off and see if you can find a burning hands spell to dispatch these centipedes. I shall try to remain safe here!" says Fadilah to her gen companion. She hefts her quarterstaff and tries to keep it between her and the giant centipedes.
Nura Hamdani
Nura draws her scimitar and prepares to defend herself against the centipedes, but her attack, while powerful, merely skitters across the floor.

The rope begins to shake and jerk and Nabila knows something is wrong with the strangers she is pursuing. She pushes herself to move as quickly as possible in case they need help.
Nura Hamdani
My saves are in my status bar, though I don't need them this round.
Nura swings again at the centipedes attacking her.
Scimitar THAC0 20 vs. Centipede: 20 - 1d20 - 1 ⇒ 20 - (10) - 1 = 9 Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7

Feeling the venom setting in, Fadilah does her best to back up and she unleashes the spell acquired by Nahla. An arc of searing fire belches from her hands in a cone, washing over several of the centipedes.
Burning hands damage: 1d3 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Fadilah al-Qadib
You just said:
Fadi you can still act for the next 3 rounds before paralysis sets in. You will have your burning hands spell by then.
So am I paralyzed before I get it, or what?
Fadilah al-Qadib
That's fine, I can roll my own spell checks; usually the DM does it for sha'ir so you don't know how long your gen might be delayed if you get a bad roll. You didn't tell me before how many rounds for the spell to arrive, just that it would be "before the paralysis," so I had no way of knowing where/when in the sequence this was happening. Additionally, there is nothing I can meaningfully do while waiting for the spell in any case.
