The Free City of Muluk takes it name from the long, unbroken line ofrulers whose history predates the Enlightened Throne in Huzuz It isknown for its exquisite regal purple dyes produced from local indigo plants.Muluk lies along the shore of the Great Sea at the mouth of the River Al-Zalim. Like most of the Free Cities, Muluk is a fiercely independent martialstate, engaged in unrelenting, low-grade conflict with the savage hill tribes ofthe nearby Furrowed Mountains, the ravaging pirates from the Corsair Isles, and the hostile armies of Umara and Qadib, both neighboring Free Cities

Paritosh grins at Nura’s plan, though the thought of facing off against hyenas and lions does bring a twinge of nervousness. He laughs, the sound filled with a mix of amusement and fond memory.
"Ah, hyenas first, eh?" he says, shaking his head. "Reminds me of the time I thought I could outwit a pack of wild dogs back in the desert. My brilliant idea? Throwing them a ‘delicious’ feast of dates—what could go wrong?"
He gestures to the group with a wry grin. "Turns out, dogs are *much* faster than I gave them credit for. Not to mention, I learned that dates are a *terrible* distraction when you’re trying to avoid being eaten alive!"
With a chuckle, he shrugs. "But I suppose this is a bit different, eh? We’ve got a lion on our side, and I’m hoping this one won’t have a taste for elf."

Nura turns to the lion and holds her arms in a pacifying gesture (though she does not sheath her scimitar). "Easy, mighty one. We are on your side." She is not foolish enough to believe that the lion can understand her words but hopes that by speaking calmly to it, it won't decide to attack her.

Paritosh flashes a grin as he dusts himself off, his eyes glinting with a mix of appreciation and teasing.
"Apologies? There is no need for that, Zairiah," he says, giving her a charming look. "I’d say you did just right. There was no time to brew a drink and cook breakfast first—hyenas to deal with, lions to pacify, and here we are, still standing."
He gives her a wink, his tone light-hearted. "If you’d waited any longer, we might have been the ones needing a wake-up call of a more permanent sort!"
With a laugh, he adds, "So I say, next time, feel free to kick us awake anytime. I’m sure we’ll all survive it, especially if there’s a lion around to scare off the worst of it!"

I always love how animals don't seem remotely surprised when they can suddenly speak with humanoids. And they always have coherent thoughts, the likes of which I'm pretty sure they don't have when we're not around and using some spell on them.
I thought it was about gist but yeah I have been thinking about that.
The Lion says, "Huh, what you can understand me? Are you a Djinn? Strange. Bizarre, Macabre. Heal that takes time. Days, weeks... What? Family... My wives..."

It fully knits his arm as he then sighs in relief.
"My god has blessed me with more spells of healing, so I can heal you too. I know not how much but we can use magic to heal some damage today and maybe more tomorrow. Then you can return to your wives" Frackit says with a smile. He a gnome far smaller than the beast before him did not really mind aiding him as even animals are sacred to the Sparkling Wit.
The lion watches Frackit with wonder and then as he sees the spell work its magic the lion jumps back in fear and he sees the results and Frackit's joviality.
The lion says, "Please, I would like to feel better."

"I can exhaust more spells for you, if you wish. I do not want such a mighty lion, or Golden Maw leave and be accosted by the horrible hyenas. I doubt they would leave a bevy of potential food easily. Maybe you, if you wish can accompany us back ot camp and rest. I can heal you more there now and in the morning. Then you can be on your way."Frackit says hoping the mighty lion will take him up on his offer.
The lion says, "I must go back to my wives and children. I thank you for the offer and your hospitality but they need to know I am safe. The hyenas saw me alone and I led them away from my pride. I must return to them... to my children...my... May what do you humanoids say... may the Loregiver be nice to you. I must go back to my wives especially Kreesha. Farewell."
