Hi All,
Thanks for joining my table!
Please list the following as you dot in. No need to repeat the line itself, just fill in your information. If the information is in a single line, I can cut and paste this quickly when creating chronicles,
RL name: * Character Name * PFS number: * Faction
Similarly, please wait to make a second post until everyone has had a chance to check in. You can make the post as long as you like, but is much easier if the first few posts are only the ones I need to search for chronicles. :)

Gen Con was very kind to Carina(she's actually level 7 now), so I'll have a full update on her up, as soon as I figure out how you deal with a Blessed book in Hero Lab.

One more to check-in. We begin on Monday. If you haven't already, please drop into the game play thread to introduce yourself. :)
Something to consider, is there anyone in this party to whom all the wands of cure light wounds can be handed?
Anything else needed before we get started?
Carina Villasani |
Oh, I should have brought this up earlier. Carina is a harrower, meaning that she as spells and abilities that require a harrow deck. I have one IRL to use, but how do you want me to handle this? Trust my card reads? Ask for pictures? Some other option?

Before I continue, can I please get an answer to this?

Sorry to leave you hanging. I am not familiar enough with the harrow deck so it is kind of up to you. All I ask is you be consistent. What have you used in the past? If you want to roll 1d52 (or whatever the number is) the system can handle it. If they also need an orientation you can randomize that as well, for example upside down is odds.
For example (going alpha-numerically) card1d52[/dice & [dice=up?1d12[/dice[dice=card:
1d52 ⇒ 49 & up?: 1d12 ⇒ 2 would be a right-side up 10 of spades. That is probably overly complicated. if you want to text a pic to me or google share, we can make that work as as well.

Aye, seven is the max number for a legal table. I like to start large because we are likely to lose someone. Also a large number makes the narrow focus on arcane casters less dangerous. Similarly, Abram is here for the party's safety. I personally recruited Saasha as someone I trust to let the focus stay on the arcane casters (one of my favorite GMs :)

There is a FAQ
I was unaware of that FAQ, actually. Thank you for bringing it to my attention. Last time, I drew from my Harrow deck and was on the honor system. I have alot of rolls to make then....

I looked at it, and realized that (PFS-wise) for 1 feat and my lvl8 school ability, I'd get a generally useful if random party buff, A force damage attack, divination 1/day as a spell-like, and Harrow Casting, which is weird and complex, but has the potential to be really powerful. Plus it's got some great flavor that I thoroughly enjoy. Easy call for me.

I might have missed something you asked. Please re-ask if you think I did. :)

OK, I have gone through the spellsbooks of people who have them posted in their profiles. Assuming I survive Gaius will be scribing the following once we finish:
1 - Ant Haul, Alarm, Comprehend Languages, Disguise Self, Endure Elements, Enlarge Person, Expeditious Excavation, Floating Disk, Glue Seal, Heightened Awareness, Identify, Kreighton's Perusal, Magic Missile, Obscuring Mist, Shocking Grasp, Vanish, Vocal Alteration, Hydraulic Push, True Strike, Crafter's Fortune, Ear-Piercing Scream, Touch of the Sea, Charm Person, Protection from Evil
2 - Aggressive Thundercloud, Bear's Endurance, Burst of Radiance, Euphoric Cloud, Flurry of Snowballs, Haunting Mists, Knock, Scorching Ray, See Invisibility, Stone Call, Web, Frigid Touch, Gust of Wind
3 - Chain of Peridition, Daylight, Dispel Magic, Fireball, Stinking Cloud, Tongues, Wall of Nausea, Fly, Heroism, Lightning Bolt, Magic Circle
4 - Black Tentacles, Ice Storm, Obsidian Flow, Phantasmal Killer, Wall of Ice, Dimension Door, Dragon's Breath
So, that is at a cost of:
1st: 24 @ 10gp each = 240gp
2nd: 13 @ 40gp each = 520gp
3rd: 11 @ 90gp each = 990gp
4th: 7 @ 160gp each = 1120gp
For a total cost currently of 2880gp. Gaius also buys a new spellbook to fit everything in.

Nice Gaius :)
Please mark any thing in an opposing school. Presuming you can Take 10 normally; a higher level spell in your opposed school, might require a check.
Please also note any spells not in a source you own or from a source not legal for your character (such as a tengu spell). (Just for future reference, it shouldn't have any effect on this scenario.)
It will be handy if everyone can do something like this before we finish. :)
Gaius Gallonica |
is the assumption that we're doing this after the scenario is completed, or before we begin?
I would assume after given the amount of time it takes.
My opposition schools are divination and necromancy. My take 10 on spellcraft is 20 which means I pass the checks for all, including oppositon school spells. I had thought you took a -4 to learn opposition school spells but I cannot find that anywhere. You do take -4 on crafting magic items which have an opposition school spell as a prerequisite.
If you do take -4 then I will buy a masterwork spellcraft tool for scribing spells. The highest level opposition spell I am getting is Tongues which has a regular DC of 18 to scribe.
There is one spell in my spellbook which is not openly available, Blend. It is an elf racial spell from ARG which I have access to from one of the 5* GM reward chronicles. If you are an elf you can use it, otherwise not.

Agalych, we haven't reached the point where the party might decide to rest for the night before continuing. If they do, their would be time to copy a 1st level spell (maybe more) and still get the 8 hours of rest needed for adventuring tomorrow. Otherwise I assume the in-game copying will happen after the scenario. However I am perfectly fine using the out-of-game-time between posts to create the list mechanically. :)
You remembered correctly Gaias (though I had to go look for it :) :
Special: If you are a specialist wizard, you get a +2 bonus on Spellcraft checks made to identify, learn, and prepare spells from your chosen school. Similarly, you take a –5 penalty on similar checks made concerning spells from your opposition schools.
Similarly, preparing a spell from your opposition school requires two slots from that spell's level and preparing spells is a part of copying them. The bonus spell slots from Intelligence make this possible even when a wizard only has a single spell slot of a given level, but some wizards might not max Intelligence, so it might be relevant. This certainly limits the number of spells a wizard can copy a day, but since there is an 'indeterminate' time between scenarios, the point is moot for PFS (unless trying to prepare during the scenario).
Elf racial spell is available to copy, just not to prepare unless you are an elf (or utilizing a special boon). I think we covered that already, but it might have been in the other thread so I am repeating it. :)

In which case I will purchase a masterwork tool. The highest level opposition spell I am taking is 3rd which means I need to hit DC23.
[dice=Spellcraft, mw tool]1d20+10+2
OK, I guess I dont get Tongues then which saves me 90gp.
The DC remains 15+spell level (18), you simply have a penalty. Having said that, mathematically 'DC 23' works out the same.
You can try again--after a week (indeterminate time between scenarios :)
