Actually let's keep everyone on the same page, everyone level up to the start of level two.
brvheart
As you move down the trail bloody animal tracks mark the snow where the trail descends from the ridge above.
Seamus Passeri
'Undead, fairies and walking trees, west is sounding better and better, maybe I should have stayed and tried to console the lady... I'm sure I did enough to earn her friendship... well she did ask us to find the source of the winter weather'
Looking around the forest from behind a couple of other adventurers, "So do you think this bloody animal track will lead us to whoever caused the weather, or could it be related to the strange hut and doll the Journal talked about?" Seamus nudges the sorrel mare along as he pulls the bear rug up around him, keeping a keen eye out and his crossbow ready to fire.
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14
Paletress, the Laughing Blade
Paletress, once again astride her horse yet muttering occasional curses about uncooperative critters, examines the tracks.
survival: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
+10 fer nat 20? Looks like she'll be able to identify which direction the creatures went, what part of 'em was bleeding, the color of their fur, their movement speed, what they ate most recently, their genetic code, whether any of them have a toothache...
brvheart
The tracks are those of a giant weasel. Seamus spots two other traps in the snow.
Seamus Passeri
'weasel tracks, that would mean that we're near the end of the valley, need to look carefully...yep there they are' stopping the mare Seamus drops the bear rug off of his shoulders onto the back of the saddle, pointing with the cross bow he says, "Hey everybody, stop your horses, the bear traps are right over there. Everyone stay put and I will make sure its safe. You guys keep and eye out for the giant weasel, if it thinks we set these things it's not going to be happy!"
Shouldering the crossbow on it's sling, he dismounts from the mare, using the rapier to test the snow in front of him, he goes toward the first trap. being very careful the attempts to spring it so he can keep it.
disable device: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30

Seamus sets off the second bear trap
Atk: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23 damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 3) + 3 = 7
Seamus is in the trap. He can can escape with a successful DC 20 Disable Device check, DC 22 Escape Artist check, or DC 26 Strength check.
Seamus Passeri
'stupid trap, I got over confident' looking down at the toothy bear trap clamped on his left calf, blood oozing into his low boot, "Lucky it didn't break my leg, I think I can get it off" flinching as he pulls on the mechanism, Seamus attempts to undo the trap.
disable device: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
keeping a careful eye out for more traps, limping around a little, he gathers up the traps and hangs them from his saddle, "We will keep these for later" before he mounts he asks, "Should we deal with this wound now or wait a little bit when we camp?"
Paletress, the Laughing Blade
"Heh heh, if it is nearby, I shall ferret it out! It won't weasel its way away from us, no matter how much of a head-stoat it has! Ha ha!"
Paletress giggles to herself for a moment and urges Skitters onward, waiting until Seamus' leg is either healed or bandaged.
"Might use a bigger stick to set those traps off in the future. Heh, try to avoid using body parts to trigger 'em. That looked like it stung. Heh."
Seamus Passeri
Carefully getting one the horse, Seamus rolls his eyes at Paletress' puns. Wow, talk about some bad jokes' nodding his head in agreement and embarrassment "Your right, stepping into the blasted thing was not a good idea, at least I didn't break my rapier poking about,
'at least she has a sense of humor' reining the mare forward, as he gets his crossbow ready, he asks, "If we catch this giant Weasel will it's hide be worth anything?"
Paletress, the Laughing Blade
"No idea, heh" Paletress replies with a shrug while occasionally poking the ground with her trusty pole. "Mama never sold any furs we got out in the forest. Heh heh. Said it was disrespectful, she did. Heh, guess selling furs is like selling people. No balance in it, heh."
She looks around at the woods and sighs. "I miss mama. She'd know how to fix all this. Heh. She knew everything in the woods."
Seamus Passeri
' guess selling furs is like selling people. No balance In what world is dead animal hide comparable to human lives, next she will be telling me she doesn't eat anything with a "smile" Seamus shakes his head, not entirely understanding Paletress' logic, "Well can we at least make coats from it" he asks as he guides the mare along behind the others, keeping a keen eye out.
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Brocken
Walking up to Seamus, Brocken leans in to whisper in his ear.
"Listen, Seamus, before you try something like the trap again, ask for Brockens blessing. Desna gave Brocken a lucky touch, indeed, and trying something like disabling a trap... might need a bit of luck. And Brocken can be a lucky charm, you know!"
Beollimandus
|
"Seamus, do you need me to bandage your wound?" I can at least wrap it about so it stops the bleeding.
Beollimandus will also keep a vigilant eye out for anything that may be waiting to attack the party or is at the end of the weasel tracks.
PERCEPTION: 1d20 ⇒ 3
Seamus Passeri
Nodding as Beollimandus asks about the wound, Brocken, who was very close, reacts quickly and waves as he prays. smiling Seamus says "Thanks Brocken I appreciate it."
Caliing further up the line to Palletress he asks "Isn't a weasel like a mink or something, all the rich ladies I .. ah, know like to wear mink fur, I assumed it must be warm, that's why it's so expensive."
'May as well test this legs strength' Seamus stands in the saddle stirrups, twisting this way and that, keeping a keen eye out for anything out of the ordinary.
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
brvheart
You follow the tracks about another mile down the path. More than a dozen boulder-sized chunks of ice litter the clearing ahead where a strange hut sits perched on tree trunks atop a raised mound of snow-covered earth.
Seamus Passeri
Seamus follows Paletress' lead, 'is this the strange hut the journal told about?' Seamus moves toward the hut very carfully, turning to Paletress, placing his index fingers over his lips quietly making a ssshhhhh sound as he sneaks up on the hut and looks inside.
stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
how big is the hut? how big is the door? are there any other windows or doors?
brvheart
As you enter the clearing an image of a shivering young Ulfen girl-suddenly appears amid the ice boulders .
brvheart
As you move up to the girl and speak she disappears and reappears in another spot in the ice. "I'm sorry! Don't hurt me! I never meant to call you names!"
Seamus Passeri
'what do you say to a little girl that appears out of nowhere?' relieved to see Lady Autumn coming forward to speak to the little girl, Seamus is taken aback when she disappears and reappears yelling "Don't hurt me"
Seamus moves forward, keeping a keen eye out, and says "WE would never hurt you, who is hurting you? we will make them stop."
perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 12

"I don't want your stupid doll! I want to go home! Take me
back!"
brvheart
"I have to get away! And you should, too, before they see you. Run!"
Seamus Passeri
well at least Autumn has some luck with her' As the little girl answers Autumn's question "Nadya Petska" 'Nadya Petska, need to remember that name, once we find out what is going on here we can tell her, if we meet her.'
seeing the little girl move again and shout answers to questions not asked, Seamus tries to follow her, keeping a keen eye out.
