I would dig for a + 4 defender, cold crap hot crap, wouldn't care
Oh, do I have a room for you in RA!
brvheart
As you start to approach the bridge you notice a creature flying off to the west.
Autumn Storm
|
Having come out of the house to ready her horse and standing at the barn, look up hearing the "oohs and ahhs and whats that".
Perception (sight based); Knowledge Arcana: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 81d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Perception (Hedwig)/Stealth *hiding under a blankett in the barn - barn owl (didnt like what I saw): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 311d20 + 25 ⇒ (14) + 25 = 39
Well whatever it is, Hegwig is scared out of his head, hes says he is happy to be barn owl for now, not my assistant, he is staying out of sight
brvheart
Autumn, you see a blue ice mephit flying away at speed. Seamus also sees it, but has no idea what it was.
brvheart
Neither one of you are hitting with those rolls especially at distance.
Sparhawk.
"Come on." barks Sparhawk as he lashes the caged fey to a saddle and swings onto the mount, offering the lady his hand.
"Whatever that is, someone will know we are here soon. Time to go."
Paletress, the Laughing Blade
"Heh, moreso than that little snotglob's friends that we didn't wholly murderize earlier?" Paletress moves to the front of the group, thankful for the snowshoes. As there are not enough horses to go around, it would be walking pace anyway. "Damage done, sir. Heh. Damage done."
She looks at the others while pulling out her trusty 10-foot pole. "We'd best get to moving while we can. Heh. I'll agree with that statement."
brvheart
It will take several hours to get back to the carriage from the lodge with the horses. If you take it with you, you should make it back to Heldren by evening.
Seamus Passeri
Seamus mounts one of the horses with his bearskin, offering his hand to the Lady he asks "Would you give me the honor my lady?" Whether the lady joins him or not he ties the pack horses lead rope to his saddle and follows Sparhawk. Keeping a keen eye out for anything odd.
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Sparhawk.
Once safely back in town, Sparhawk takes the caged fey and helps the lady dismount, "Here we are, my Lady. Allow us to escort you and this prisoner to your residence. It is urgent we consult yourself and your counsellors to get to the bottom of your abduction."
He raises the cage as he speaks and motions the lady to lead the way, and for the others to follow him.
brvheart
The lady will tell you it is imperative to find the source of the winter weather. So once you have had a chance to rest and re-equip.
Sparhawk.
Sparhawk clears his throat, nodding. He then carefully broaches the subject of compensation. "About re-equipping..."
Hopefully we get something lol. I think most of us were down to pennies. Does she give us more info? How about the interrogation of the fey or will we do that later?
brvheart
"If my jewels won't cover the supplies, use the contents of the chest I brought with me from the lodge, " says Lady Argenta.
brvheart
Actually if you add it all up it is worth well over a 1000 GP and you still have yet to open the chest.
Sparhawk.
Oh, I found the post I missed, when Seamus finished casing the place. Cool. Well lets promise to look into the cold and then pop that chest open hehe.
With the lady and her counselors present, Sparhawk uncovers the caged fey so that it can be interrogated.
"Now it is time for you to explain yourself, creature. What do you know of the plot to kidnap the lady and the necromancer who captured you?"
brvheart
As you question him, Vrixx promises an increasingly horrifying number of tortures he expects his friends to inflict upon the PCs when they find them. He refuses to speak beyond that.
Seamus Passeri
While Sparhawk attempts to drag more information from the fey, Seamus returns the horse and wagon to the stables, also boarding the four new horses, he begins to sort through the gear to see what they can sell.
I will work on the list tonight
Edit: we have Lady Argentea's signet ring, are we giving it back?
brvheart
The village of Heldren has 171 people in it. There are a few magical items available for sale here, but very limited, one scroll of sleep, a potion and a handful of partially used wands.
Sparhawk.
Sparhawk tries to ID the vials and detects magic to make sure nothing else needs identifying over the entire lot.
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
brvheart
The two vials are not magical and are greenblood venom. That will not identify the scrolls. I am not sure what else you have not identified. The chest remains locked.
brvheart
Councilor Teppen introduces Beollimandus to the party as a local Taldor warrior who has been asked to help out.
Seamus Passeri
By the time they reach the village, well after the sun is down, Seamus, Drops the Lady Argentea off at the door for "the Silver Stoat" As he lowers her down from the horses, dropping the bear fur rug that they were wrapped in to her. "Here milady, keep yourself warm."
As everyone dismounts he gathers the reigns of the others horses and taking them and the rented horsecart back to the livery, he speaks to Sophia Imirras, "Here are the horse and wagon you rented us, they proved invaluable, thank you. May we board theses other four with you for a day or two? Also, I have another favor to ask, We have gear loaded in the wagon, may we leave it in the wagon until we have a chance to inventory it?"
Helping unsaddle the horses and feed them, he takes the strongbox and the trunk the one with the jewelry with him into the "Silver Stoat" As he walks to the pub he realizes just how bad he is feeling. Once he enters he approaches the team, dropping the two containers with the valuable in them near Sparhawk. "I feel awful, if you don't mind taking care of the bargaining with Lady Argentea, I'm going to bed" then going to speak to Menanders he puts his bed roll on a pallet and goes to bed.
The next morning he is feeling even worse.
I assume a little fluff is ok, need to get healed up before we move!
brvheart
Seamus will require two consecutive saves to get over the shakes he has.
Brocken
After hearing that Seamus is sick, Brocken collects a few herbs and some hot water and comes to visit him.
"Brocken heard you are sick. Let Brocken inspect you. Maybe he can help."
After examining him he makes him a tea, to warm him from the inside and orders a few hot stones for the bed. "We have to bring you to sweat and you have to drink alot."
Heal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Paletress, the Laughing Blade
Paletress notes that whatever Brocken is doing seems to be having little beneficial effect, and meanders over to the apothecary to ask if there is anything to help deal with an unfortunate chronic case of the jitters.
She does her best to describe the symptoms, but mostly comes out to "Well, heh, he's shaking even though our healer is, heh heh, trying to set him on fire or something. Heh."
