Athromar Karthis
Athromar closes the gap to about 10' behind Gaelin and aims his crossbow for the door he nods towards it as if inviting the Barbarian to open it.
Dungeon Monkey
Ugh. I had posted a post, and it didn't post. Ugh
Gaelin entered the kitchen carefully, sword in hand. His wary senses make him whirl as he walks in. Behind the swinging door a large female in leather garments and an apron stands with a blade in hand
you weren't surprised, so it's your go
Athromar Karthis
I take it I do NOT have line of sight here correct?
Dungeon Monkey
Gaelin levels his greatsword at her. "Lay down the knife," he growls, clearly meaning business.

The large woman slowly puts the short sword down, rising slowly and deliberately. She is dressed in well-worn leather armor, and despite wearing a large white apron doesn't look like your average cook
Perception [Gaelin only]:

The woman speaks slowly, with a Demgazi accent to her Common
"Easy there. I want no trouble."
Dungeon Monkey
The woman nods
"Look, I was nicked by this crew while stuck in that godsforsaken summer blizzard out there a few days ago. They call themselves Rohkar's Raiders, and they're backed by some strange creatures that have come out of the snows, wherever they are coming from. They don't tell me, they just forced me to make them food because they're to lazy to cook, and they figure it's a proper job for a woman"
She looks a bit grim at this statement
"As to what this place is, the High Sentinels used to base here, keeping an eye out for Qadiran raiders. Rokhar's crew aced them. Now he and his group are in control"
She pauses
"There's about ten bandits, and Rohkar and his two pet skeletons. Half the bandits are sick with chilblains from this accursed weather."
Athromar Karthis
Do we hear nay other movement at all while Gaelin is in the room talking to what seems to be a woman?

Athromar approaches the room and peers in, "Where is this Rohkar now?" he asks the woman.
Athromar Karthis
Anyone trained in Sense Motive?
Mine is decent but not great.
Athromar Karthis
"We would be glad to assist you if you assist us".
Sense Motive 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Athromar Karthis
Athromar nods to Gaelin, "You open the door I will fire if necessary?"
Dungeon Monkey
Actually it's the door you guys came in, but I get the plan
The woman takes off the apron and darts into a closet, returning with a travelling knapsack. She puts a finger to lips, and advances out the kitchen door, motioning the group to follow. The large central room of the lodge is quiet, save for the crackle of fire in the hearth.
Any particular order? The half Orc woman is taking point
Athromar Karthis
Athromar clutches his Crossbow and follows third after Gaellin.
Dungeon Monkey
The cook leads them past the bear skin rug they had seen earlier with the locked door underneath. There is a stone wall with two open archways leading into another large room. The stone wall radiates heat, likely it is the back of the fireplace the group can smell in the stuffy air. A staircase sits along the southern wall, rising up to a supposed second floor.
he cook sidles up to the southernmost archway and peeks in. She looks back and holds five fingers up. She also points to the stairs and puts her hand up in the universal "I don't know" gesture.
Actions?
Athromar Karthis
Athromar whispers to his companions, "I move like a pile of stones, are any of you proficient at sneaking?"
Dungeon Monkey
Sahsara sees that there are five visible bandits. They are staring at the doorway, obviously warned that there are hostile forces in the building. Three have arrows mocked, and two have their swords out. They seem to be waiting for attack, not advancing from the far side of the room. There is a big dining room table dominating the room, laden with half-eaten food. The glow of a large fire can be seen painting the room's furniture. The fireplace is on the other side of the stone wall, and is not visible from the doorway
Athromar Karthis
Athromar shakes his head and whispers back, "Intimidation may work on the soldiers but the source of evil here likely will not back down without challenge".
Sahsara
Strong winds begin to blow around Sahsara (activating breeze-kissed ability) as she looses an arrow at one of the bow armed bandits.

Can I step forward and take a shot as well?
Athromar Karthis
Surprise Round?
Athromar steps forward to emphasize Sahsara's point with the point of a bolt.
Heavy Crossbow 1d20 ⇒ 18
Crossbow Damage 1d8 ⇒ 1
Athromar will take a 5' step backwards after his shot.
Dungeon Monkey
I'm going to put that crossbow bolt with Sah's arrow
Athromar's bolt hits the wounded bandit in the throat. He garbles out a horrid bubbling shriek and collapses
"Attack them, or by my troth I'll kill you all myself!"
On the stairs a figure appears out of the shadows. He is flanked by two skeletons
I'm working on a map, but if I could get a group initiative roll please

Athromar steps forward and upon seeing skeleton, sends waves of positive energy towards them seeking to destroy them where they stand.
