I did indicate I will go into the darkness to investigate the possible "Fey Relic", and retrieve it. Granted I think its a trap, but will go in anyway. I'd rather I take the risk than seeing the resulting mushroom cloud of a Dwarf grabbing a Fey Item; or the domination/enslavement of a human mind to such an artifact.

In the Mindlink Anyone have Elfin or Fey blood in them other than myself? Speak up now, and check the room or I will. Kosan take my position at point as your the battle leader. As we agreed in the Gnoll Ghosts room. Dwarf relic's are a Dwarf matter, Elf/Fey relic's are an Elfin matter.

I will wait for a minute for someone to speak up. If not I will go in, and check the room.

In the mind link: As you wish Llevonic I will replace you at the front. Astinios me and you will hold the enterence to the the dirt tunnel.

I go replace Llevonic at the head of the party, axe/hammer and shield at the ready at the enterence of #3 (Dirt tunnel to the Snakes). and allow Llevonic to move to check the crypt of #4.

I will still use the rool I did before of:

Ok; some characters, Kosan, Astinos, Aahz, and Decidio move into the dirt tunnels for secure footing to hold that entrance.

Aahz says; "here they come" though you dont see anything yet.

Decidio and Llvenoc move into the darkness that seems to eat light, the hall is well lit; but hte darkness of the crypt seems to eat the light.

I assume the other characters are waiting in the hall among the rubble to assist either direction as might be needed.

Will post what happens in a few hours to give time for anyone to make adjustments.

yes; you, Caerwyn and June. how are you guys doing it; one going left right and middle or all as one group; please specify; remember that as your entering a room from the corner; it is like walking into a diamond shape room from your perspective.

kk; am going to have both actions from you and the guys in the tunnel happen the same time; so everyone might as well roll initiative. Need someone from each group ;those in the dirt tunnel and those in the darkenss; one person from each to roll a D6; thanks

ok; two fives; neither group is surprized; equal spoting distance so no modifiers there.

from the snake side; come two large, vile looking, aberrant snakemen (CE alignment for those whose weapons go crazy for that sort of thing.)

one comes from each side of the T in the dirt caverns and with a hiss charge the party. Behind them come two medium sized snakemen in better looking garb; one has a staff and wand and using mage armor; the other has a rod and a scroll and is wearing fine chainmail that looks elven.

the big guys appear on init 18
the little guys appear on init 14

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

On the other side;

you three break through the darkness into a diamond shapped room.

in the room is a whole lot of broken crypts and stone, bricks and rubble is everywhere.

in the center of this is a ice mound upon which rests a giant arm coming out of the ground and in its hand is gripped something dark you cannot see.

in front of the icy arm is a hidiously beautiful beast; some type of guardian..planted here? it is a bit like a old tree stump; with wood and rock bark; many gemlike eyes and it has not only strange beauty; but a melodic charming...enchanting; yea thats it; enchanting song coming from its big toothy maw and all kinds of whirly lights that calm and bend the eye; besides that; the thing has four long tenticled, ropey arms that end in big fanged pads abd several shorter, powerful limbs, if you will, that look quite effective at bludgeoning.

ok; need you three to each make a will save for the lights
make a fortitude save for the song.

and intiative for the melee as your easily in range of the long ropey arms

Wow. Just in time! Heheh. ;P Thx for the auto-pilot guys. OK, so where does anyone want the cat-mage? He would have been VERY interested in visiting the darkness and 'powerful magic aura', and if Fox is watching the tunnels, he would have gone with the others into the darkness. So, (unless there are any objections?) I'll be in the back of that group. :)

Seeing the strangely enchanting beast I remember the words spoken by the Elder Fey at the Oracles. I also take note of the significance of three Duchess's of the Winter Court who came to view us. I see the beast/fey as a messenger more than a guardian. I speak hoping to avoid a fight we can ill afford.

I am Prince Llvenoc. I answered the call of both Winter and Summer. To do battle against our ancient enemy the snake people. To free she which is of the Earth; Sister to the Sun. I have entered this tomb to retrieve that which is rightfully yours. With your blessing to wield it against our common enemy. Better for it to be wielded than forgotten. What say you, Protector Of That Which Rests?

Valegrim wrote:

It seems those abominations...that which are being called snakemen are attacking. I think it a wiser course to leave the darkness unexplored and deal with these snake creatures first. Were a fight to occur on both sides, it is likely we shall suffer worst than dealing with one situation at a time.

If so In the mind link: We hear you Llevonic we are pressed by 4 snakemen from the tunnel. 2 Aboritions 1 Mage and 1 other caster. Complete your task and return.

If we do not hear him then I do not reply but in either case I say:

In the mind link: 2 big aborations charging down the tunnel and 2 casters behind then. Looks like 1 mage and 1 cleric or other caster type. Caer from the back if you can, Durr protect our casters, Kalona you are now in charge of the casters, Casters take out or hinder the casting of the 2 snakemen casters, Astinios today is a good day to die have at them. for DUMATHION. Now make them bleed and die for their cause.

My initiative was 26.

Spot d20=10+5=15 Hope its enough. I can try communicating in the surface tongue. Though it will come out crude upon my lips as I have little practice with it. I prefer blood not be exchanged in this meeting.

A thought springs to mind. When trying to avoid combat a game of Rruuckes is played instead. As this has been done since the beginning of all Elven, and Fey kind. It shows civility, the intent on peaceful exchange. And if combat is required it is done through ceremony of the game instead of bloodshed.

Looking at the beast Rruuckes?

I am highly skilled in the first tier of the game. I have yet to master the second and third tiers. So I would need to limit the game to the first tier. In regards to the Neutral party my first choice would be Eilistraee, as she is my Parton. My second choice would be Hermes as he is the of Games, and has given me his blessing. If not I will finally choose Raven as he has watched our over party in this quest. While I do have problems with a certain member of our party it in no way affects how I feel about him.
