Cleo will try and flank something with helgarr. are the things in the map dead, meaning dead dead, not undead and attacking

Helgarr |

I don't think the map is being updated... I'm not sure what goes where at the moment. Fox?
I'll just roll an attack as Helgarr continues on with it, but I am not sure what I am attacking.
"VERY well done Cleo" - Helgarr commends her companion.

Sinspawn notwithstanding, everything is updated. I don't have pictures for zombie goblins with glowing bellies, so I have to make do with regular zombie pictures.
It is currently Vandra's turn. I'll reveal the results after he's done. Nice crit btw, I'd call it a double crit.

Went to zoom in on the map and somehow ended up moving the background. Not sure how it happened. Anyway, tried to fix it as best I could though I probably made it worse or something. Sorry about that!

With the zombie goblins closing in, Vandra took a step back and touched his mother's shoulder, imbuing her with a touch of magic.
Jeaux, bolstered by her son, lashed out at the goblin before her with blade and foot.

As each glowing goblin zombie is butchered or decapitated (or completely diced like from Helgarr and Cleo), they explode in a 5ft. ball of flame. Everyone (except nimble Maria) gets splattered and fried by these explosions, including the guards, Dench, and the old man Brodert. The two surviving zombies lash out at Dench, but Cleo's protection from evil keeps their nasty claws away. Maria also gets a swipe from a zombie (before it exploded) when she shot her bow, but again, Cleo's enchantments keep Maria safe.
The pool surges for one last glow as 6 more spirits coalesces into undead minions. These ones are undead sinspawn. After the transformation is complete, the pool loses all light and movement.
Everyone's turn. Map and hitpoints have been updated.

Got it ;)
"Ack! They explode! Be careful friends!" - Helgarr roars, astepping to the side to pin the two horrors there between herself, Ali and Furnok.

As Cleo prays to Erastil for good health, a wave of energy washes over the Cathedral. It was unusually strong, allowing everyone to gain healing from it. Fortunately, the enemies were all undead, so they did not manage to sap any of the healing from Cleo. It applies to all creatures within range, not just allies. Everyone gains 3hp.
Furnok, Helgarr, Azeri, and Jeaux continue to hack away at the undead sinspawn, while Ali and Maria shoot frantically to fell their enemies. Those who missed were helped by Dench and the guards with a few lucky strikes. In the end, all the undead were killed and the remaining exploding goblins dies with little to no impact.
Everything feels calm... quiet.
Very quiet.
From around you, each killed foe bleeds heavily. This blood seeps from their wounds and rotting flesh and begins to rise. Floating in the air, these streams of blood slowly arc and descend down, right into the flesh of the first large Sinspawn. As the last drop is absorbed by the giant creature, it's axe flares with fire. It's armor becomes inscribed with glowing red and orange runes, and it's eyes ignite once again. It straightens up and pushes Helgarr back, glaring maliciously at her.
Everyone's turn. This is the last fight.

"Calistrias t+@~..." Ali moved forward, placing a hand on Azeri and channeling his energy briefly, causing a magical barrier to coalesce.

As the giant, flaming Sinspawn rises up, Helgarr, Furnok, and Azeri each strike it with a single, powerful blow. It reels back from their ferocity, but still pushes onwards. It takes a single giant step towards Cleo so it's in melee with almost everyone, then winds up for a devastating strike. It lashes out like a wound spring that has been released, striking everyone around it. Although Cleo is the first target of it's massive axe, she manages to duck just in time.
"Watch out!!" Scream the guards as they see the Sinspawn wind up. They race as fast as possible and leap over the balcony to protect Vandra and Jeaux. Just as the axe is about to sweep along them, the guards jump in front, protecting the two with their own lives. Their bodies are sliced into pieces, and a giant explosion of blood erupts around them.
Killing the two guards messes with the axe's momentum, so Helgarr easily steps back from it, but it catches Furnok along his left thigh, before going across Azeri's knee. Furnok takes 16 damage, and Azeri takes 14
The remaining two guards fire arrows that simply clink off the Sinspawn's plate armor. The old man cowers in the corner.
Everyone's turn. Be careful

Cleo Gingerberry |

Whoa! It must have been Furnok's favorite thigh that got cut up

Furnok of Ferd |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Furnok reels back at the blow from the monster but grits his teeth and retakes his stance. His falchion gleaming in the blood splattered light, it seems to blaze brightly as he brings it slicing down and splits the sinspawn from head to toe, sending innards to the outtards!

Helgarr |

"Damn fine work!" - Helgarr pats the bloodied Furnok on his back.
"Cleo, anything we can do for these brave ones?" - she inquires, quickly moving towards the badly injured, and probably dead soldiers who came in their defense.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Cleo will forget her admiration of Furnok Fury! and hurry to the guards side. She'll burst in holy energy to the expended point. channel4times: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 5) = 11 hopefully getting everyone again

the energizing healing bunny is spent.

Maria groans and then moves towards Cleo intent on helping how she can.

With no chance in any of the layers in Hell of swallowing the gunk his spell created, Vandra looked for an empty space and spat it out. "Gods, that stuff is foul," he muttered before his eyes looked over the battlefield. Rushing over to the remains of the guards who gave their lives to save he and his mother, he braved the wrath of Pharasma's servants and said a prayer for their souls, letting the deity know they deserved to go somewhere nice in the afterlife.
Shaking his head and holding back tears, Vandra joined Cleo in helping out anybody he could.

DM TreasureFox |

The sinspawn cries out in a high pitched blood curdling scream, then slowly evaporates in black smoke. In it's place is nothing but a burning red crystal the size of a fist.
When Vandra wakes up, he feels terrible. His skin is oily like he sweat through the night. You are fatigued
Now that the dust has settled, Vandra collapses on the ground, completely exhausted. His skin is coated in a think layer of sweat, and shivers as if it were winter. You are currently exhausted
The old man Brodert accepts Cleo's healing, and steals a hug from her. "Thank you, my brave friend." He whispers.
The two remaining guards kneel to their companions' remains and weep for them.
Dench gives Furnok a fist bump in congratulations.
All the undead and sinspawn bodies evaporate into nothingness, while the great doors open. The two pools both drain away to nothing and do not glow.

Cleo Gingerberry |

Cleo blushes beat red at the hug, but doesn't feel the least bit herioc, especially looking over to the mourning guards.

![]() |

Completely forgot about that, so let's just pretend that I never posted anything earlier and that this is my first post here today >.>
Laying on his back and panting for breath, Vandra tried to remember the last time he had been this tired. Shaking his head, he slowly sat up and looked around. The remaining guards were mourning over their fallen brothers, and it touched a place in his heart he tried to wall off after the destruction of his village. Struggling to rise up, he accepted his mother's help and hobbled over to the men. Pushing aside his fear of attracting Pharasma's attention, he gave the deity a prayer for the souls of the men who gave their lives to save him and his mother. "Did they..did they have any family?" he asked one of the guards, not sure is he wanted to know or not.

![]() |

Maria looks over at them. Gods I hope not. Things would be just that much worse if they had family to mourn them in addition to their friends.

Helgarr |

"They died a valiant death in defense of their home" - Helgarr looks over the sad image of the dead guards - "When it is your time to leave for the Afterworld, this is the best way possible, so I salute their courage, and they will be given a proper burial, their weapons delivered to their family in honor"
After a few silent moments, she moves to retrieve the red gem, carefully wrapping it in a blanket, and placing it in her backpack - "We will need to take a further look at this later on" - then looks around the are and the pools - "It would seem we have carried out the task we set out to"
The area is basically fully explored, is it not Fox? Or... What is that path from B3? Do we know?

DM TreasureFox |

There is still plenty of the dungeon that remains to be explored, if you choose to explore it.
The two guards explain that yes they did have family. One of them looked after their aging parents, while the other has a wife and two children. Both of them were born and raised in Sandpoint, which isn't always the case. Sometimes guards come from Magnimar or one of the little villages nearby. They thank Vandra and Helgarr for their kind words, and set about finding a way to transport the bodies back.
What would you like to do now?

![]() |

Vandra would prefer to help transport the men's bodies back and pay bis respects to their family, but if there's something else down here then he'd be willing to take care of that first.
"I'd like to pay my respects to their family as one of those they saved," Vandra said quietly. "Their families deserve to know why they died under the town they worked to protect."

![]() |

Maria nods. "That sounds like a good idea."

Cleo Gingerberry |

Cleo nods in agreement, not trusting herself to talk at the moment.

Helgarr |

"Very well" - Helgarr agrees - "Let us take our leave from this place for now, and come back later" - the barbarian adds, following the others outside in silence, but putting a comforting hand on Cleo's shoulder - "You did your best, as did we all"

Cleo Gingerberry |

Cleo smiles in thanks, but inside she can't help thinking she's a failure.

![]() |

Maria follows after the others eyes slightly unfocused as she mulls over the results of her own suggestion.
