Sorry, delay on my end at least was because I have no idea what to do. Spells almost gone and have this the giant Thing coming at us...d'oh!
Still not quite sure what to make of the thing the young mage knows one thing, it's not good news. Consulting the few options he has left, Korian decides to at least give his companions what advantage he can can concentrates briefly. As he swirls his fingers and blows on a piece of licorice, suddenly he and all his allies suddenly begin moving much faster

The thing's fins shift a bit and its direction shifts a bit to the left. It now looks like it won't pass directly over top of you but about 30 ft. to the east and 30 ft. above you.
It's moving about 40 ft. per round.
There's something on its side that appears to be writing.

Noting the strange sign on the...thing, the mystery only deepens for the young mage. Beginning to cast another spell he says [b]"Hide or stand firm as you will, but I am sure this craft or creature means us no good. I am going to take a closer look.
And with that he cast two spells in quick succession, first turning himself invisible, and then granting himself the power of flight. He then flies closer to the huge object, staying well above it and out of it's way.

Sykala
Sykala has moved far enough away already that she is not in the area of the haste. She is about 120' feet away (2 double moves) at the moment according to my calculations, I think.
The druidess continues to watch patiently remaining as hidden as she can beneath the sands while watching the approaching creature.

Now more curious than concerned, Korian flies down to the hatch, landing quietly and moving carefully he looks for any sign of a trap, and if none, tries to open it.

"What's 'll 's 'bout seeds ag'n? Ain't 'at 'at's 'n th' pyramid?"
The dwarf wonders and waits, shifting position as possible in the dunes to be less obvious as he watches what he's convinced is a craft of some sort.

Dciding that she would have little hope outrunning the thing Refina assumes a ready stance and waits to see what happens.
Refina is hasted remember, just sayin'
Korian flies about, tryin to find another way in or any other distinguishing features.
What is the hatch made of? Is there any chance he could break it? And now that he's closer, is there any more knowledge rolls he can make or anything else he can determine about it?

The thing ... or creature ... or whatever it is ... continues on its way, travelling away from you, but on a curving path. If it is circling around, it is doing so very, very slowly.
Ovirid Thorvirson
Ixius looks after the running men, thinking of putting a couple of arrows in one of their backs. He thinks better of it and follows after Ovirid.
"You think its from the pyramid? I figured that Sand Sage sent it."
"If'n 'at be so, 'en 'ey wouldna be scared o' 't, 'ould 'ey? Ah think 'is 's somethin' else. Mebbe somethin' we c'n work wit'."
Korian Allande
Had been waiting to hear if Koria had bEen able to find anther way to get in. Also, had the thing not originally coming from the direction of the dig site?
Not getting any further in his explorations, Korian gives up and begins flying towards his running companions. When within earshot he says "Unless you plan to run all the way back to the digg site, I think we have to leave this mystery unsolved for now my friends. Let us regroup our party." and then flyig or walking, the soon visible mage heads back to where the others still waited
One all are regathered he says "Well, that was...interesting. It is clear we must now move our camp, but Sykala, if you wish to still play out your part in the next stage of our plan, we shall await upon your return. Also, perhaps too can discover just what that thing was."
After getting the Druidess' response he next turns to the former slaves saying "You are now free men. If you wish to make for civilization now, we shall give you what supplies we can spare. Otherwise, you may stay with us and, if you help us guard our camp, we shall reward you handsomely once we return to they City. The choice is yours."
Korian Allande
You mean from This Post? Is it safe to assume that as we all talk we share info and can just read each other's posts for simplicity's sake? And any answer from the slaves?
After hearing the decision of the former slaves Korian says to all "Well, we obviously cannot stay here anymore, let us move our campsite again."
As they get to work packing up in preparation to move Korian asks "So, what did you all make of that...thing?" as he also shares he thoughts on it.
So let's say we move our camp site an hour away, perpendicular to where were in relation to the dig site. After the camp is packed up and on the way, Korian will cast Sand Storm to erase all trace of the former campsite and the tracks away from him. He will also ask Ovirid and Ixius to do their best to make sure that the groups' tracks are not traceable this time.

Korian speaks to the helpful freemen, "Ah! Well, that is important news indeed, already you increase your reward, if your aid keeps increasing at this rate, soon you will be wealthy men." smiling to indicate his genuine pleasure.
[b]"Sykala, can we call upon your unique services again to scout ahead and make sure to do not run across one of these teams? Ideally, if we can place our camp in an area they have already passed by and searched we should be relatively safe from further detection.
Ovirid Thorvirson
Ovirid has not been near the others, so he hasn't shared his thoughts yet.
"Ah dinna know 'at 'at 'ing 'as, but Ah 'm not thinkin' 'at 't 'as a creature. 'r if'n 't 'as, som'un 'as added t' 't -- mebbe like armor? Ah think 't be a flyin' ship - mebbe th' diggin' woke 't up. 'r mebbe th' diggers 'r usin' 't t' look fer 's. One idee, Ah like. Th' other, n' s' much."
Survival to cover tracks/create false ones 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

Any actions from Refina?
You find another spot to set up your camp. The men you saved are pretty sure that they were the only party that searched in this direction.
I believe it would be getting late in the day. It's hard to keep track of time, but I think you guys pretty much pulled an all-nighter, attacked the camp, and then moved two hours out, set up a camp, waited for some time, fought, dismantled a camp, moved another hour out, set up another camp ...
Korian Allande
So, what time of day is it? Regardless, since we still haven't slept yet, we will be doing so. We can each take a guard shift along with one of our new employees (for safety and to keep an eye on them, just in case). I imagine Ovirid will be taking the deep night shift. The next day, according to plan anyway, most of us will be staying at the camp, Sykala may have other plans ; ) during the next awake period, Korian will be scribing a scroll.

The three ex slaves are in fairly good condition.
They complain a bit about the haircut given to them by the monks as part of the disguise. All the monks were bald except for a topknot. The slaves complain that their hair was cut to resemble these topknots from a distance. Up close, however, their hair obviously too short and crudely hacked into the rough approximation of the look.
The slaves are happy to take turns watching the camp.
Any other notes?
Korian Allande
Sykala already mentioned she'd prefer the first watch, because her elemental form would be gone after that, perhaps Refina could take the second? Orivid's the only one with darkvision so makes sense for him to take whichever wtach will be darkest-not sure which as don't know the time- Korian doesn't care which watch, he can take last watch if needed.
