Shadow Lodge

50ft. straight line more or less.

Male Elf Wizard 20

Mortimer turns around in flight, chasing behind the big man and he takes out his well used bit of bone. "Jierda!"

Damage: 7d6 + 3 ⇒ (6, 5, 3, 4, 2, 3, 5) + 3 = 31

DC 20 fort or be exhausted, success if fatigued

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

Erasmus, seeing that there's no fight left in the slaves also takes off after the large lumbering beast. It's so unfair that he moves so quickly, too. Note to self: get the other big guy's stuff later.

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

DM when its Esther's turn to act pleas tell me if she can do a 5ft step + rapid fire or if she needs to move 30ft in order to see her target.she has 110ft range with her bow for the first distance increment.

I'm not really sure whose turn it is to act...

Shadow Lodge

It is Targ's turn now.

Pursued from behind, and challenged ahead, Targ roars his displeasure. Suddenly, pain wracks him from head to toe.

1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32

Bones splinter dangerously, but the big man runs on undeterred: smiling even...

He approaches Erianna's position and lowers his shoulder.

Overrun 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (1) + 24 = 25

Erianna stands he ground and stops the towering man in his tracks!

Ok. you guys are up. Esther you need to move to get line of sight. Erasmus can charge. Erianna can full attack.

Male Elf Wizard 20

If there was ever a time for this man to roll a nat 1, that was it

Shadow Lodge

Yep. If this guy doesn't fall this turn, I'll be very surprised...

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Esther will move up and fire one arrow from her bow

PA Longbow: 1d20 + 14 + 2 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 14 + 2 - 2 = 291d8 + 9 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 9 + (2) = 13

Male Elf Wizard 20

Mortimer begins hovering over Targ, hoping the others can finish him off but prepared to help if it's needed.

I blew a lot of spells today, so I'm going to let you guys finish this up. Holding action to throw a spell should he break free somehow

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

YOU'RE! GOING! DOWN!

Erasmus charges.

charge attack + flanking?: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (16) + 15 = 31

Since Erasmus has attacked Targ, from behind, I am going to assume we are flanking him ;)

Erianna's look is fierce as Targ runs for his life, but is unable to get past her. Facing him squarely, she speaks softly - "Surrender fool. You have met your match today" - then bursts into a flurry of motion, peppering the man with attacks from the flat of her blade.

Scimitar Attack Non Lethal: 1d20 + 15 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 15 + 2 - 4 = 32Damage: 1d6 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18
Scimitar Attack Crit Confirmation: 1d20 + 15 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (7) + 15 + 2 - 4 = 20Additional Damage if confirmed: 1d6 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21

Scimitar Haste Attack Non Lethal: 1d20 + 15 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 15 + 2 - 4 = 29Damage: 1d6 + 17 ⇒ (1) + 17 = 18

I just hope his DR isn't the type that doubles vs. non-lethal damage... And I wish that Crit would confirm ;)

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

Oh, total damage is 26, AC is 24

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

you have confirmed a crit earlier at AC 20 to it should go trough :)

Shadow Lodge

Massive blows ring from Eianna, but her mercy seems to yield little damage against the big man. Erasmus' cutlass bites the man's back and he bellows in pain. He raises his hammer high and brings it crashing down on Erianna. "Die with me harlot!"

1d20 + 24 ⇒ (20) + 24 = 44 for 4d6 + 30 ⇒ (3, 1, 5, 1) + 30 = 40
Confirm 1d20 + 24 ⇒ (11) + 24 = 35 for 4d6 + 30 ⇒ (3, 5, 1, 5) + 30 = 44

I hope that hits an image. Otherwise, take 84 damage.

With that finally hammer blow, Targ wavers, the topples, sending clouds of dust into the heavy air.

Suddenly, the endless barrage from Freedom's Eagle ceases.

See discussion.

If it hit Erianna, she would have to Crane Wing and Riposte it ;)

Discussion post added.

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

Erasmus sheathes his weapons, panting heavily.

I suppose there's a reason you merely rendered him unconscious? Mortimer! Can you fly up and see the ship from here?

Male Elf Wizard 20

Mortimer nods, gaining some altitude.

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Erianna Erasmus grab the body and lets head back to the place we were. We will turtle there while shooting those we can while we wait for your allies to get here

CSW: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6, 8) + 6 = 23 for Erasmus on this round.

if there is no one threatening the party next round esther will cast a CSW on herself while they retreat.

CSW: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2, 5) + 6 = 17 for esther

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

Erasmus runs back into the room to see if there's anything of value on the elephants.

Shadow Lodge

LOOTS:

+1 Light Mithril Steel Shield of Bashing
+1 Armor (+6AC, 4 max dex, -1 ACP, Medium armor)
+2 Tulwar (Scimitar for in game purposes.)
+2 Studded Leather armor
+2 Falchion
+1 Armored Kilt
Masterwork Scorpion Whip
+3 Earthbreaker
Ring of Protection +2
Amulet of Natural Armor +2
Cloak of Resistance +3
Belt of Dex & Con +2

We're heading back into the hall then?

Male Elf Wizard 20

The only things that jump out to me are the protective trinkets (ring of protection, amulet of natural armor, cloak of resistance), of which I have none. How do we want to divide this up?

Do I see anything from my birds eye view?

Wow... Nice loot... I could use about half the items in that list, starting with the:
+2 Tulwar (Scimitar for in game purposes.) -> Of course ;)
Ring of Protection +2
Amulet of Natural Armor +2 -> All of the +armour items are upgrades for Erianna
Cloak of Resistance +3 -> Also an upgrade
Belt of Dex & Con +2 -> Wow... Great one.

Not really sure how we're dividing this though.

GM DSP, is Targ dead? If not:

Erianna makes sure the huge man is very securely tied and gagged, while they relieve him of his possessions, then dragging him back to the hall.

If he is dead she will simply drag him back :D

Shadow Lodge

Dead.

Mortimer, you see a battered shell of a town. Fires, rubble, etc. The ship is too far to see more than the shape. The other ships are all destroyed. 1, maybe 2 could be salvaged...

Male Elf Wizard 20

I, for one, am happy he's dead. With whatever his ludicrous strength score is I don't even want to try and restrain him. See discussion about loot.

Mortimer comes back down quickly. "Phase two, fight our way to the beach and meet up with the Vice Admiral. I can't tell the state of his ship from here, so I'm going to send Biel to check in." He looks at the girls, floating down so he's only just above them. "Will you stay with us? I can guarantee your safety if we make it aboard the ship, but I doubt fighting our way there will be easy."

As this goes on Mortimer has a second converstaion with Biel in his mind, double checking any damage done on the mechanical bird and rewinding him for the long flight. Fly to the Vice Admiral, tell him of what has occurred here and then return to me with any message he has as well as his situation. But Biel, your first priority is to stay alive, if you think landing on the ship is suicide then don't do it. Mortimer watches the blue clockwork fly off.

As Biel flies off, Mortimer takes out his healing wand and begins patching people up, continuing to pour out the magic until the wounds are nearly gone.

CLW Mortimer: 8d8 + 8 ⇒ (1, 3, 4, 3, 7, 3, 3, 8) + 8 = 40
CLW Esther: 6d8 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4, 5, 8, 6, 3) + 6 = 35

That should get me to full and Esther to 60. How damaged is everybody else?

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Esther will stop mortimer and will instead use her own power to heal herself.

Save your wand master wizard. I can also treat your wounds if you want.

she will cast a CSW: 3d8 + 6 ⇒ (1, 4, 5) + 6 = 16 on herself

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

Erasmus winces as he looks over the three dead colossi.

And good riddance. Damn falchion-swingin mammoth.

Erasmus nods in agreement with Mortimer. Also, there is the whole "the settlement is being bombarded like you wouldn't believe" thing, though if you're particularly attached to the place I won't hold it against you.

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

erasmus don't forget that esther healed you for 23 hp

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

totally missed that.

Erianna looks to Esther, then nods - "I agree that the best course of action seems to be heading towards the beach - you can count on us for that, and we'll take it from there afterwords. One problem at a time, now that this one is taken care of" - she offers a sidelong glance towards the corpse of Targ.

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

I don't suppose your bird can find you if we move from here, can he? Otherwise we'll have to wait for him to come back.

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Ha more fighting well erianna and i will escort you there

Esther will concentrate and summon her wooden armor

Shadow Lodge

Don't forget the wand that will teleport you back to the ship or wherever else you choose to go. It has 3 charges.

Male Elf Wizard 20

"I can telepathically communicate with him, I'll guide him back to our location."

Wasn't our secondary mission to fight to the beach? If not I can use the ring to bring us all back.

Shadow Lodge

Second mission: Free any slaves you could.

Male Elf Wizard 20

Got it

Mortimer passes a hand over the ring the Vice Admiral gave him, making it glow softly. "Scratch that, we'll just jump back to the ship. Less variables this way. Gather close." Mortimer will wait until everybody is prepared, then jump them back to the ship.

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Mortimer we are fine. i can do much to help if we stay here and act as a forward fighting force while the main force arrives

Male Elf Wizard 20

Are you suggesting we all stay here or just you and Erianna?

Shadow Lodge

Mortimer and/or Erasmus:

There is no main force. When you're done, get out. There is potentially more you could do, but you don't have to. (Reads: you dont have to stay and fight, but you could. The vice admiral might be mad, might now. IM NOT RAILROADING. DO WHATEVER YOU WANT! AH GMING SUX SOMETIMES!

Male Elf Wizard 20

Mortimer kind of shifts. "Well...there isn't really a main force. Just a strike squad, us, and a single boat to cause some damage and cause a distraction. Targ and his two best men are dead and we freed what slaves we could on the way here. Our mission is done and we intend to return for extraction and debriefing." He glances between them. "This is your way out, otherwise we probably couldn't come back for you."

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

Let's at least bring the kitchen staff and these guys Erasmus gestures with his arm at the spear-chuckers We're in reasonable health and there's bound to be more slaves sitting around somewhere. Our orders were to kill Targ and get free as many as possible. We've only done one of those.

Male Elf Wizard 20

"Sounds good, but move quickly. I only have so much magic left for today. Esther, Erianna, see if you can find any slaves hiding. I'm going to get a birds eye view." Mortimer gains some altitude again, searching the area for any slaves.

Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

A boat you say? she will whisper to erianna via the message spell if we really need to i can make us reach that boat undetected while we swim to it.

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

Erasmus walks down to the kitchen. Attention, please. We are going to be leaving this island, and would like to offer you a ride. He gestures to the slaves to follow.

Shadow Lodge

I'll post tonight. I don't want to rush a post and miss something :)

Shadow Lodge

Erasmus, Esther, and Erianna manage to convince 53 slaves that they really are free. The others elect to stay behind believing the offer to be a trick of some kind.

Mortimer, from his lofty vantage, sees a town in ruin. There appears to be movement in the auction square at the harbor. It is difficult to tell whether friend or foe, but Mortimer can see spears rising above the press.

Mortimer:

Biel speaks into the wizard's mind. Smoke rises from the deck, master. I see no movement aboard. Shall I get closer for more information?

Male Elf Wizard 20

GM:
Mortimer floats in silence for a moment. I'm sorry to put you in danger Biel, but I need to know what happened. Move as quietly as you can, and the first sign of danger I want you OUT of there.

Mortimer seems to think for a period of time, looking down at all the slaves. "I need to check on something, stay here but be prepared to defend yourselves." Mortimer flies out closer to the auction square, close enough to get a look but not close enough to get attacked.

Male Noble Elf Wizard 9/Bard 1 | AC 15/10/15 | HP 71/71 | F +4, R +6, W +9 | CMD 12 | Move 30 ft. | Init +6 | Perc +15 (+4 with familiar)

Biel moves down quietly, trying to find out what happened.

Stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

esther will just smile as she carefully survey the perimetre

Shadow Lodge

Mortimer flies closer to the auction square and sees two score slaves huddles behind a low stone wall near a selling platform. Ringing them are 12 men in armor wielding spears and short swords and carrying bronze shields. (Same as Targ's guards.)

Mortimer:

Master, I...The ship. Everyone's dead. I don't... Suddenly, Mortimer feels a cacophony of panic from his familiar. Come now! The Vice Admiral!
