Shadow Lodge

The man frowns slightly, sticking out his lower lip. He slowly starts to nod, then looks under the desk. He pops back up a second later. "No. You here night after next? I can get one. Probably."

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

in the case of probably then 2 scrolls of break enchantment one of heal and one of lesser planar ally

she turns to mortimer

If those are available are you ok with this purchase?

Male Elf Wizard 20

Mortimer frowns. "I'm no healer, and I trust your judgement, but what is the lesser planar ally scroll for?"

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

solving a minor problem for us. One of the two high level spell will definitely do it, but the break enchantment might failed. We will see for ourselves tomorrow night. she winks at him

turning back to richard

Can you give us the price tag of each item in advance? she smiles

Male Elf Wizard 20

No but seriously, why are we getting lesser planar ally?

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Esther will explain it to you on the way back after leaving the merchant

Because some of the creatures one can call with a lesser planar ally can plane shift at will. Making it possible for us to transport everyone from here to over there via the planes in under 10 min. she smiles

Shadow Lodge

3225

Richard taps a finger on the top of his head while tracing imaginary numbers with his finger on the desktop.

"3225 golden marks. I will see you then, not tomorrow night, but the night after."

Male Elf Wizard 20

Mortimer thinks it over. "Expensive, but safe. Probably earn me a few good marks on my record too. Good idea, I fully support it."

"Agreed - let us find accomodations then, or are we staying back at our transportation?"

Male Elf Wizard 20

"I'd prefer to stay on the boat."

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

The ship is fine with me

"Very well then, let us head back to the ship" - Erianna comments, and once they are alone adds - "It is also a better option if we want to keep an eye on our charges"

Shadow Lodge

This night passes peacefully.

The morning sun burns away a clinging mist and, before long is poised to scorch the skin of the unwary: the day promises to be hot.

Everywhere people mill about on errands of business and pleasure. Fisherman, ferryman, pleasure boaters, and more teem around the dock and harbor with more than an occasional glance cast at the unknown ship in the wrecked dock.

It is mid morning (10am-ish), no problems yet. What do you do to pass the day.

Male Elf Wizard 20

Mortimer rises from his sleep, spending a few minutes in the warm sun before finding the others. "I intend to go into town for a hot meal and some bookkeeping. I'm going to see what kind of magic is available in a town like this, perhaps our contact has what I seek."

Going to use some of Mortimer's share to go copy down some spells, depending on what's available. After having a hot breakfast somewhere, he's sick of preserved food.

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

Erasmus will go with Mortimer, looking for gear.

So do we have a plan? What happened yesterday?

Male Elf Wizard 20

Mortimer turns to the ladies. "You two should stay here, we should go out in pairs to the city."

On the way Mortimer fills Erasmus in. "We had a brilliant stroke of luck, it started with a halfling, go figure, and he led us..." Mortimer tells the rest of the story as they go into town.

I assume you were following along Erasmus?

Also, a note, now that we are out of combat Mortimer might seem rude. And he is, but I just wanted to catch this early and remind you of player/character separation. Mortimer is blunt and rude unless he is talking to a superior.

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

Yeah, I just wanted an IC reason to know what's going on.

So we're going to call something from another world. Have you done this before?

Male Elf Wizard 20

Mortimer runs a hand through his hair. "I'm not particularly good at it, but I've done it before. I won't be the one casting the spell anyways, this spell is divine in nature."

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Well erasmus it all depends on what our contact can get the high end option is the Wish / greater planar Ally. The low end option is the Heal+Break enchantment. And i will be reading these scrolls. I will be staying on the ship with our charges, for the day.

"I am staying also sister"

As Mortimer and Erasmus leave, Erianna adds - "Make sure to arrange for provisions"

Shadow Lodge

I'm slightly confused. I blame lack of sleep. Who is where and what activities are we attempting? I think Morty and Erasmus are "on the town" and the girls on on the boat. Beyond that, I'm not sure. Sorry.

Male Elf Wizard 20

That is correct GM. We are going to find breakfast, then I am going to a magic shop to see if I can pay for permission to copy spells. It is of my opinion that we do not buy fresh food for the slaves since it will raise suspicious why we are buying so much food with only four people on our boat. And they already have enough preserved food to eat off of anyways, especially since we are only going to be here a little bit longer (hopefully).

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

You are correct on all counts DM...

Shadow Lodge

No worries breakfast is easily accomplished, and I will post about that, and the boat scene in a bit. Right now, I want to ensure that we are on the same page. To that end, please see discussion.

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

You are the DM i do with what is available :) As for esther's action she does nothing but stay on the ship alert and on guard until the meeting. Then before going she will go through her standard buff routine before heading out

Shadow Lodge

Sisters:

You notice a figure in a hooded cloak has done nothing but stare at your boat since this morning.

Do you want to do anything about it?

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

DM / Erianna:
i'll ask erianna if she wants to use her stealth skill and "capture" our would be spy

Esther/DSP:

Erianna frowns - "Esther... You know I hate those things..." - she stares back at the man for a while - "I cannot simply go over there and capture anyone without even knowing if we are facing friend or foe. You know that" - her sister knew her, Erianna was not one to announce her moral principles to the four winds, but they were there, firmly planted in the young woman's soul.

"I have nothing against striking a conversation with him, or her. But that is it Esther" - she reinforces.

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

DM /Erianna:
why don't i go and strike a conversation with our friend over there and when he leave to go and report to his master you follow him and i catch up to you with the message spell ?

Esther/DSP:

"And why not?" - Erianna answers.

Male Elf Wizard 20

Erasmus/DM/I'm doing important things:
Mortimer chews the breakfast sausage, looking around the inn. "This isn't half bad."

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Esther will wait for her sister to give her the go ahead signal via message spell and then will casually walk over toward the man.

Go

:D

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

Top-Secret Official Business.:
I was expecting a bit of a younger crowd though. I guess it's still early.

Male Elf Wizard 20

Highly Classified:

Mortimer slowly chews his eggs. A few minutes of quiet eating. "So we have a bit of time to kill, want to swap stories?"

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

In Re: (REDACTED):
I suppose. My family's fairly wealthy, they sell rugs mostly, my older brothers are a priest and a merchant. I was shipped to a fencing academy at a very young age, and joined the military immediately upon graduation, served in a fort for a few months before moving onto ships which is probably why I'm not much of a sailor.

Male Elf Wizard 20

Restricted Access:

Mortimer sips his coffee. "Interesting that you would become a military man being born into such wealth. Just have no care for that kind of life?"

Shadow Lodge

I don't understand what's going on with the girls.

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Erianna is going to cast a message spell so that she and i can communicate. She is going to use her stealth skill to slip out of the ship unseen and hide near the person watching on us. Once in position she will signal it to Esther via message spell. Esther will then casually disembark from the ship and then head over to the person spying on them. Should he flee Esther will "let" him get away so that he feels confident about having escaped pursuit. Erianna will shadow him to see what happens and will message Esther so that she can keep up from afar.

Male Elf Wizard 20

Yeah, we're doing important things too. Like deciding which breakfast meat is superior!

Shadow Lodge

Got it. I need five stealth rolls and five perception checks Erianna. Esther I need three perception checks and an optional diplomacy/bluff/intimidate roll. Mortimer and Erasmus, I need one perception check. I won't use yours unless the crazy thing happens...

Male Elf Wizard 20

Need to know basis, and you don't need to know.:
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22

That's a LOT of rolls - so some are bound to fail ;)

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin':

Stealth 1: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20
Stealth 2: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33
Stealth 3: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (18) + 15 = 33
Stealth 4: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28
Stealth 5: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (11) + 15 = 26

Perception 1: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Perception 2: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Perception 3: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Perception 4: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Perception 5: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18

Assuming he doesn't bolt as Esther approaches

Hello there i have see you watching me for the past few hours, I take it you are a little on the shy side ? she ask with a smile So here i am and i believe you were going to treat me to a meal or tell me why you have been staring in my direction ?
Diplo: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28

Shadow Lodge

Well done Erianna! You are in the most advantageous position possible.

The cloaked figure, now that you are closer, is in fact a dark haired woman. Shock registers for the briefest second on her face at Esther approach and her eyes flick to the ship then back to Esther.

"I do not have time for meal alas. I have been staring, as you say, because I am wondering where you have come from, and perhaps where you are going. I can see you have no worthy seamen aboard, so I am thinking you need a crew, yes?"

Hp 81/81 AC 24 (21) (+12 Perc; +4 Init; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +7)

Indeed it might very well be that we need ourselves a crew in the next few days. she replies

Male Human Rogue (swashbuckler) 7, HP 47/63, Fort/Ref/Will 6/11/3, AC 22 (+1 per sneak attack die)

Ok, I'm running out of CIA allusions:
Perception: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13
I suppose that's part of it. I also just like fighting and hate, well, enemies of the state that much. I guess you could say I'm a true patriot.

Bluff to pass secret message: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17

He just hates slavers that much

Shadow Lodge

The woman straightens: all business now. "Right. How much will you pay and how many hands do you need?"

From the shadows, Erianna peers around the area for any others that may be with the woman.

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

Shadow Lodge

I've already got you covered Erianna :) If/when there is something for you to see, I will let you know. You've already made your checks and did a bang up job of it :)
