The attack would have missed, I messed up on something, and just realized it. I had missed that the creature had dropped the grapple, so it would have been a +8-4+1 to touch, so it would still have missed.

![]() |

I did not know what all was included in Yoon's +8. Either way, 17 just barely misses touch AC.
The grapple and will save are due to a special attack. If any of the claws hit, it has an Eviscerate attack that does ability damage if it beats your CMD. So.. it attacks, grapples, possibly does more damage to an ability score, then it can either stay grappled (which none of you would survive two full rounds of contact with the thing), or release the target. In this case, it released Amiri, because I did not want to kill her right off the bat. Because of this, Amiri may redo her turn and take a suitable action to follow the readied action.
Rolando: The thing appeared because it attacked. The save was technically on the bugs turn, but if you want the immediate action of the Saving Finale, I will give it to you, I just need to know what you are doing. Did you sing or cast the spell? Its gone both ways so far..
Edit: How about this: Your immediate action replaced your readied action, then on your turn you began to sting along with the knowledge roll. That will give Amiri the win for the fort save, taking no ability damage, and also give everyone the song bonuses.
Oh, ok, in that case it should be fine. My ready action was to sing. The creature attacks, triggering a save. I end my performance to cast Saving Finale as an immediate action. This shouldn't matter, as nobody hit the creature anyway. Then on my turn I sing again, bringing the bonuses back. Good?

Can we all promise to hit the creature this round? Please?
It'd be a nice thing, but right now I'm not holding out any great hopes of it, given what it must be sitting at defensively?
Price 50 gp; Weight 4 lbs.
A tanglefoot bag is a small sack filled with tar, resin, and other sticky substances. When you throw a tanglefoot bag at a creature (as a ranged touch attack with a range increment of 10 feet), the bag comes apart and goo bursts out, entangling the target and then becoming tough and resilient upon exposure to air. An entangled creature takes a –2 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity and must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be glued to the floor, unable to move. Even on a successful save, it can move only at half speed. Huge or larger creatures are unaffected by a tanglefoot bag. A flying creature is not stuck to the floor, but it must make a DC 15 Reflex save or be unable to fly (assuming it uses its wings to fly) and fall to the ground. A tanglefoot bag does not function underwater.
A creature that is glued to the floor (or unable to fly) can break free by making a DC 17 Strength check or by dealing 15 points of damage to the goo with a slashing weapon. A creature trying to scrape goo off itself, or another creature assisting, does not need to make an attack roll; hitting the goo is automatic, after which the creature that hit makes a damage roll to see how much of the goo was scraped off. Once free, the creature can move (including flying) at half speed. If the entangled creature attempts to cast a spell, it must make a concentration check with a DC of 15 + the spell's level or be unable to cast the spell. The goo becomes brittle and fragile after 2d4 rounds, cracking apart and losing its effectiveness. An application of universal solvent to a stuck creature dissolves the alchemical goo immediately. Crafting this item is a DC 25 Craft (alchemy) check.
Wow, yeah. About the only other thing I can think to do is

Amiri gives the bug a whack with everything that she has, but unfortunately turns a paving stone into dust. Her spirit on the other hand, finally manages to lay in a good smack.
If I am going back over the last two pages correctly, it was the Visitants turn before Karasuma goes again.
The creature ceases its attack on Amiri, and and concentrates for a moment. Suddenly, a wave of unclean and evil energy flows out from the beast.

That is just what I was about to ask for clarification on.. Thank you!
Amiri takes the full blast of negative energy, but she decides that she has had quite enough of this beast and deals it a blow that audibly cracks the carapace. The beast rears in pain and lets out a horrible alien screech as her ax does its work. Unfortunately, her spirit is not quite so nimble.
Jirelle shrugs off most of the negative energy, then just barely manages to evade the leg that flies out at her as she tumbles through the doorway. Unfortunately neither her rapier nor her spirit performs as well.
Rolando pushes away most of the negative effects as well, before sending some much needed healing Amiris way.
Yoon pushes away the negative forces too, before lighting the ugly bug up.

Hooray for ongoing fire damage! From the power description: "Foes on fire take 1d6 points of fire damage each round until the fire is extinguished." In addition, Yoon gets a +2 bonus to hit creatures on fire, so this wonderful turn of events may continue!
Now that I know the Acrobatics was successful, I've moved Jirelle to the other side, and Rolando back to where he was. Here's hoping there is no dying in my future.
This leaves an opening for Karasuma to step into, with flanking and sneak attack! (Fingers crossed.)
