Doctor Cogito |
Ok, third time's the charm I guess?
[dice=Edwenno o gwath!]d20+5[/dice]
Just ONE roll above a 10! JUST! ONE! I really would've liked to wrap this up before I left.
Ah well. I'm gone starting tomorrow morning, so here's some bot instructions: Keep trying this until it works or the guards come to their senses, whichever comes first. SATURDAY, try to keep them intimidated as long as possible. If that doesn't work...I say we just bail out. I'm not sure if we can take out 10 of these guys before they fill us full of bullets (well me and Dmitri, anyway). We'll teleport to safety (maybe onto the roof of a nearby building?), regroup, and try to come up with a less s&!#ty plan.
Rynjin |
They'll come to by the end of your next turn, so you can either teleport out OR try mind reading again, not both. If Alex were here he could just put the smackdown on all of them though. He has Improved Takedown.
Doctor Cogito |
Maybe you should start botting Amoeba too. =p
But yeah, teleport on my next turn. Discretion is the better part of not-getting-shot.
Dmitri Rasputin Krenshaff |
Dmitri transmutes the floor into Cobalt-60 killing everyone in a mile or so grabs the boss. "We're going for a ride!"
In Ancient South Egyptian, he tells Cogito where he's going. Roof of a fairly-but-not-too-close building.
SATURDAY MORNING |
so uh what do we do
Rynjin |
Apparently, go to a fairly close by building in South Egypt.
Cogito, Razputin, and SatAm poof away, leaving Amoeba in the nefarious clutches of those who ruined his life in the first place. Who knows what ungodly tortures they may inflict upon him.
Dmitri Rasputin Krenshaff |
The language, not the place. Dmitri and Cogito both speak all languages.
Upon appearing, Dmitri whirls on the bossm, snarling "Talk, or I turn you into a cat and drop you off at a puppy farm."
Doctor Cogito |
Cogito teleports Amoeba and SATURDAY MORNING to the same rooftop (making sure to bring the CAV-CRU with him).
"And don't bother lying. That will only waste your time, and our patience."
Rynjin |
What's the save DC on your Teleport, Cogito?
The rest of the group (plus the boss?) appear on the rooftop, but it appears as though Amoeba has slipped through a crack between dimensions, who knows when or where or even if to return.
Doctor Cogito |
Dodge, DC 11.
Dmitri Rasputin Krenshaff |
"SHUT UP! WE ASK THE QUESTIONS HERE!"
"What do you know about one Doctor Madd?!"
Dmitri Rasputin Krenshaff |
"And do you know what we found in his lab?"
Cogito, mind control.
Dmitri Rasputin Krenshaff |
cogito plz i can't social skills
Doctor Cogito |
Sheesh fine.
Cogito starts trying to dominate the guy's mind.
Doctor Cogito |
Mind Control just has a flat DC...of 16. You lucky dog.
No longer in immediate danger, Cogito will keep trying until it works.
Doctor Cogito |
We found some Femtotech containers in Doctor Madd's lab. Tell us what they were doing there.
Rynjin |
The boss replies in a dazed monotone.
"We ship chemicals to places like that sometimes. Weird warehouses and such."
"We don't get the buyer's names, just the addresses. Didn't even know those were for Madd until I recognized the area."
Doctor Cogito |
"So you'll just give out chemicals to anyone who asks for them? No identification needed?"
Doctor Cogito |
"I don't recall commanding you to get snarky with me."
"So who would Madd have contacted to place the order?"
Dmitri Rasputin Krenshaff |
"Who would we have to... talk to... find out what exactly these chemicals do - and why they're produced?"
Doctor Cogito |
Cogito sighs. "He's just another cog in the machine. He doesn't know anything. We need to find one of these 'higher-ups'."
Do we know where Femtotech's headquarters is?
Dmitri Rasputin Krenshaff |
"Hmm. A frontal assault on Femtotech HQ could be dangerous. Maybe we can get an appointment?"
Rynjin |
Getting an appointment with anyone important would be difficult, but remember the inverse law of size and security: The larger a business (or building) is, the easier it is to just walk in the front door.
Lobbies are generally easy to get into. You could then Bluff or do else your way deeper into the building. At the least, case the place.
Dmitri Rasputin Krenshaff |
Does anyone in the party have Bluff? Or really any social skills? I know Sat can intimidate.
Doctor Cogito |
Sat has both Bluff and Diplomacy-err, I mean, Deception and Persuasion. The rest of us have nada, aside from my usual tricks.
"You've been most helpful. We'll put in a good word with your superiors."
Cogito teleports with the manager to street level, about a block away from the warehouse.
Go back to the warehouse and through the front door. Act as if you just got back from a lunch break. If anyone asks you what's going on, tell them you don't know what they're talking about and to get back to work.
Doctor Cogito |
And now I'm wishing we got ourselves a Memory Eraser.
Dmitri Rasputin Krenshaff |
I could newt him for a little bit.
SATURDAY MORNING |
Ok I think work has finally lessened to a level where I can pay attention to this again. What do.
