If the 3 chocking fail saves this round they go unconcious.. If they save their staggered for a round.. Note unlike the 5th level version this happens every round regardless of saves made.. Well for 19 round anyways..
| DM Spires |
When I read Suffocate, based on the text if they fail their save I see them going unconscious their first turn (not round) when the spell goes into effect - don't they go unconscious immediately if they fail their save? This would be the "dying" round, then would be the "dead" round. Granted it's a ridiculous spell, but mass suffocate is a level 9 spell and all of them are ridiculous.

Avoreal Starseeker

The initial save begins the suffocate.. Their next turn, or this one, they fall unconcious if they fail again, their 2nd turn die if the save is failed.. It repeats for 19 rounds so unless you make the save before going unconcious and somehow get rid of it its pretty much a done deal..

There's no furniture in the room - apparently this foul smell abattoir is the home to something that prefers to use the half-gnawed bodies of previous meals as bedding.

The creatures are hungerers - lamia turned into monstrosities by a powerful magical force, long thought by the Pathfinder Society to be a fanciful myth - like Rune Giants in fact.
They have a number of terrifying abilities as a result of their transformation - immune to damage from acid and poison, and resistant to damage from anything but cold iron, they're also magic resistant and have the unsettling ability to spew acidic blood and bile on anyone that wounds them in melee.
Which reminds me, Vars please make a Reflex Save, DC 25 or take 2d6 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7 acid damage. If you make the save, no damage is taken but it is super-disgusting.
Worse they also have the ability to make people make rash decisions if they're able to wound them (Wisdom damage).

The other, mostly unwounded lamia will lift its ponderous bulk from the ground and fly towards Vars. You hear a tremendous sucking sound as the pile of flesh separates from the tile.
As it settles you hear a tremendous ripping sound - the creature appears to have vented its internal gasses around you. Somehow the vile gasses center on Duhwoo.

nope, no Blinking: the Blinking from the ring only lasts 7 rounds -- we spent more than that lookin' around after the last fight, and Duh did not re-activate it...
luckily Duhwoo's Major Ring of Inner Fortitude stops two points of ability drain as well as 4 points of ability damage! (EDIT) that should be a GREATER ring, stopping three points on ability drain -- I forgot I upgraded.
Being down 113 hit points after taking that big chomp crit, Duh steps over to someone with decent healing ability
"Critter got hisse'f a purdy good chomp in -- kinda stings! Ain't nuthin' like ol' Lord Vars did right back at it tho..."
He pulls his own wand o' Cure Serious Wounds, and pops three charges on himself for 9d8 + 15 ⇒ (5, 6, 5, 5, 8, 2, 6, 5, 5) + 15 = 62-- hoping someone will supplement his own efforts:

Duhwoo X. McKeener

"A mighty soothin' lullaby there, Mister Zoo-eller -- thanky thar!"
Being as that performance takes 4 rounds, Duh will use another charge (3d8 + 5 ⇒ (3, 8, 3) + 5 = 19) from the wand in his hand (leaving only one charge left on that one: good thing Duh bought another one!)
