Trotter casts invisibility on himself and goes chasing after the giants.

As you pursue the wounded cloud giants into the next room you see more giants moving against you.
Only one is able to move into position to attack you at the beginning however, and he slams hard into the meddlesome bard.

Trotter has 8 images. Big Bad Monster hits Trotter's AC, so now we roll to see if it hit Trotter or one of the images.
Roll 1d9 (since you can do that on these boards!), with a 1 being Trotter and the rest being images.

So the Monster only popped an image, leaving Trotter with 7 images left. If the monster hits again, you would roll 1d8 (with a roll of 1 being Trotter):

Also, don't forget that if an attack misses by 5 or less, it automatically pops an image.
I'm not sure which ones are still standing and if any are nearby Trotter, but assuming somebody's in range:

Vuvu's shriek is like nails on a chalkboard, magnified by a deranged gnomish contraption the size of a house, but it fails to land completely on the giant, distracted by the tiny yet deadly swordsman carving its friend to pieces.
Trotter and Avoreal are up again, although Duhwoo let me know high/low as it changes if the third giant is dead or not.

The giants you're currently attacking are all cloud giants (the icon for storm giant has that centurion horse-head crest). Still moot, mind you, because it's dead. Super dead. Then you hacked at the corpse to make sure.
Vars' attacks continue to stain the checkerboard marble a solid red - his blows easily fell the giant (G16-I18) and leave only one giant in the back standing.

As you're about to round the corner you get a sense of impending danger.
Avoreal, you see only one of the cloud giants who was nauseated has run to find help - two storm giants standing guard in front of other doors. These giants were unwilling to leave their post but are eager to fight.
The storm giants grin when they see Avoreal advance and point at her. Suddenly lightning scorches forth, covering a 5-foot strip from ceiling for 30 feet (10 in front of Avoreal, 15 behind) with electricity.
