The town of Wyatt Peak:

The how to of investing A building can be invested in to raise the potency of its properties. Additionally, each investment helps Wyatt Peak to flourish, thereby attracting better future adventurers. This will affect the starting experience of all new characters. If you are level 3, and then die, you will start at a 0 exp, level 1 character unless investments have been made to attract a more experienced hero.
Each building has a threshold to reach before it is considered an investment, the starting amount for each business is 50gp. As the party spends money in town, I track this value below. The party can then decide (as an out-of-character influence) which business receives the investment. That business how now been improved by the money the adventurers have brought into Wyatt Peak, provides a better Property, and can attract adventurers of more skill.
Every time you invest in a business -in this way-, any new adventurers who come to Wyatt peak will have a starting experience modifier. This allows you come in with a new character at a higher level than before. Each investment changes the starting experience modifier by -double- its gold amount.
Example: Each starting business is at 0 investment, so they all need 50gp to go up. After spending a total of 50gp in town, the party discusses what they want to upgrade, and they decide to upgrade The Cup and Dice, to provide better meals and drinks, creating a better atmosphere, and allowing the adventurers to better unwind. This not only increases the property of this business to better generate inspiration for the party, but all new adventurers (were someone to die and need to be replaced) would come to town with 100 experience already earned.
Finally, new businesses can be attracted/discovered. Want a jeweler in town? Well, you can spend your accumulated spent-money on attracting a new business instead up investing in an already existing one. Or, you could have your adventurer retire to create their own business/augment an already existing one. I'm still working out the details for these final options, but feel free to show your interest and we can work it out.

The Sundown Inn
Ran by a dwarf woman named Reagoria Irontooth, the Sundown is a pleasant place that provides a good place to lay your head. All facilities are humble, yet cheap. A thin breakfast of porridge comes with a room.
Properties A safe place to take a long rest. Rooms available, Poor.
Investment Assists in fatigue, and maybe hit-dice recovery.
Current Investment level 0

Kelly's horses
Kelly is a young, human man who can hardly grow a beard. Orphaned, he now runs the local stables and keeps the few nags here fed. The stables is in a dire state, but he does offer room to care for the horses of others for a price. Kelly is also a massive gossip, and can be questioned about local news for some coin.
Properties Sells, and cares for hoses. Sells gossip.
Investment Has better mounts for sale, and better information to share.

The Cup and Dice
The local tavern ran by a halfling couple, Sapphire and Slate Fishmasters. A friendly pair, these two provide good food, entertainment, and drinks. Located near the Sundown Inn, this is where the Sundown's patrons go when they want a better meal than simply porridge.
Properties 10% chance to generate inspiration when time is spent here eating, drinking, or gambling. Can only be done once until the party goes adventuring once again.
Investment increases the % chance of generating inspiration by +15.
Investment upgrades
-25% chance for gaining inspiration

Jim's General
Jim's is ran by a Teifling woman named Coin. She sells general supplies, leaving the good foods, horses, weapons and armors to her neighboring businesses.
Properties Can purchase any item of adventuring gear, tools, or trade good categories of 5gp or less. Chance of having an item more expensive is reduced from 60% by it's total GP cost. Example, she has hempen rope to spare, but the 10gp silken rope only has a 50% chance of being in stock when the party visits. GM rolls.
Coin is willing to take the cost of an item she doesn't currently have in stock (with a 5% additional gratuity), to buy it from the next merchant that comes to town if they have it. This increases the odds of the item being in stock the next time you visit town by 30%, if you're still alive to collect it.
Investment Her inventory increases, as do the odds of finding even magical items for sale.

Investment Unlocks superior armors, and eventually may even have magical equipment for sale.

Current Investment level 50 GP
Next investment level 150 GP

NOTE: Any % chance of a benefit for any of the shops should be rolled as "low is good", so if they've a 25% chance, and the dice rolls 99, they will NOT have whatever it is. If I roll 13, however, they will.

Potential Factions
The Church of Kelemvor
The Emerald Onclave
The Harpers
The Order of the Gauntlet
The Red Wizards of Thay

(I think unless developed properly, I would like to keep specific churches off of this list to keep from limiting divine class/acolyte backgrounded character choices. I would hate if someone really wanted to play a Banite or a disciple of Ilmater since a specific quest hadn't yet been done. Varus existing is evidence that I don't want to work specific religious organizations into this system.

With one example.

THE CHURCH OF KELEMVOR is very much on this list. New characters cannot be from the local religion's ranks until In-RP conditions are met.)

Clues:

Campaign Premise:

There is a small town called Wyatt peak up in a mountainous region, a bit separated from the rest of the world. There has been HELP requested from the town's local cleric, someone named Brayjio Springhand. You'll be going to a small, rural mountain town of some renown (A temple to Kelemvor, the god of death and Judge of the Damned, is build here, and many renowned followers of The Lord of the Dead have visited Wyatt's Peak over the years). You'll be investigating the local areas in your quest to help Brayjio, and might run into all manner of danger.

The letters/posters are written as follows.

HELP DESPERATELY NEEDED
The town of Wyatt Peak, in the Dragonback mountain range, and off of the village of Kimble's Rest, is in desperate need of adventurers.
Anyone strong of arm, spell, or craft who is looking for a place to test their skills, or a wrong to right should look no further. Ours is a place to accomplish these, and without your help the town is doomed.
I implore you, come to Wyatt Peak. Follow the Meandering Road to Kimble's Rest, and there climb a trail to Wyatt Peak.
Be forewarned, this is a dangerous task, and I know not the chances of successes even with your help. But ask I must. Please come.
