Noticed something...we have so much melee. But no ranged! In an attempt to fix this...

- Weapon Familiarity (Orcs are always proficient with greataxes and falchions, and treat any weapon with the word “orc” in its name as a martial weapon.)

* Studied Target ( A slayer can study an opponent he can see as a move action. The slayer then gains a +1 bonus on Bluff, Knowledge, Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival checks attempted against that opponent, and a +1 bonus on weapon attack and damage rolls against it. The DCs of slayer class abilities against that opponent increase by 1. A slayer can only maintain these bonuses against one opponent at a time; these bonuses remain in effect until either the opponent is dead or the slayer studies a new target. If a slayer deals sneak attack damage to a target, he can study that target as an immediate action, allowing him to apply his studied target bonuses against that target (including to the normal weapon damage roll).)
* Track (A slayer adds 1/2 his level (minimum 1) to Survival skill checks made to follow tracks.)
* Sneak Attack (1d6)
Gorthug vs 3 human scouts. All on horseback, armored with breastplates and armed with bow and shield. Each human has Str14 Dex16 Con14. 2 are lvl1 fighters. 13HP, AC19. The third is a lvl3 fighter. 31HP, AC19. All have +2 masterwork composite longbows
That was the odd thing about humans. They thought that archery was all about how quick one was. They went on and on about how elven archers were the best in the world because of their eyesight, and their inherent speed. Gorthug scoffed as he knocked an arrow onto his bow.
It was really about strength. Something that orcs had in abundance. Take his bow for example. Few humans could manage to pull back the string, which was made from mammoth gut. Certainly no elf could manage it. His eyes narrowed at the three human scouts beneath him. He had to warn his element about the incoming humans. And he couldn't let the human scouts report back to their main body about what they were about to see. They had to die. He took careful aim at the last one in line. The scout was naught but a boy. He was wearing a breastplate and was carrying a bow. The weak human that he was, he was riding a horse, unable to take the rigors of a long march. The bow was a toy, as far as Gorthug could tell. Something he would have played with as a child.
Surprise Round
Hit: Studied target and point blank shot: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
Damage with sneak attack, studied target and point blank shot: 3d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5, 1) + 6 = 14
The boy never knew what hit him. The arrow, shot from an orcish hornbow, went right through the boy's neck. The boy's gorget did little to stop the arrow. With a gurgle he fell from his horse, hitting the ground.
12HP. 14 damage taken. Dying at -2
The next rider was certainly his senior. He actually had a beard and had a scar running down his face. He turned at the sound, a look of confusion on his face. This was their leader, his armor was ostentatious, he was in the middle of the formation, and he had a horn with which to call reinforcements.
Round 1, Gorthug goes first. Shooting the sergeant
Hit with rapid shot and point blank shot: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
Damage with sneak attack and point blank shot: 3d6 + 5 ⇒ (4, 4, 3) + 5 = 16
Hit rapid shot point blank: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Damage point blank: 3d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6) + 6 = 18
Sergeant has 31HP. Takes 34HP. Is down to -3 and is dying
Two arrows were fired off in quick succession. The first hit the sergeant square in the chest. To his credit he stayed on his horse, even though the blow was strong enough to have killed most humans. He didn't have it in him to withstand the second shot, which pitched him off of his horse. Like the recruit under his command, he was gurgling blood.
The third rider, the man up front, turned his horse around and saw his dying comrades. He immediately fired an arrow, knowing that even if he ran now he would only be shot off of his horse.
Hit against Gorthug: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
Damage with point blank shot: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Gorthug grunted as it hit him. He had worse before. This would be another scar...
Round 2
Hit with rapid shot and point blank: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (6, 3) + 5 = 14
Hit with rapid shot and point blank: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (5, 6) + 5 = 16
...the first arrow hit the man in the arm. It was enough to shatter bone. Even if he survived he would never use it again. A look of pain and shock crossed his face as his bow fell useless to the ground. His eyes met with Gorthug just long enough for him to see the orc scout let loose another arrow. It hit him in the head, splitting it and his helmet like a melon.
13HP total. Took 30 damage. Very, very dead.
With the scouting party eliminated, Gorthug climbed down from the tree. He had an arrow sticking out of his side, and it hurt something fierce. But he was alive, and he wasn't going to let it slow him down. First, he tied up the scouts' horses so that they wouldn't run off. The last thing he wanted was for the human army to realize that one of its scouting parties was dead before the orcs were ready. He then went through the corpses, slitting the throats of the dying as he did so. On the body of the sergeant he found the man's scouting report, and a smile crept over his face. He knew that his commander would want to see this. Ignoring the pain, he set out. He had a job to do.
There you go. Another character for consideration.
Also did this to test out the build. As an archer, he is pretty darn deadly. With 18s in all physical stats, and an orc hornbow, when he hits he hits really damn hard. At close range when ambushing someone, he does 3d6+6 damage (2d6 hornbow, 1d6 sneak attack, +4 strength, +1 point blank, +1 studied target). That's no joke. Especially if he can land both blows. Doing 6d6+12 damage will take down alot of enemies before they even know what hit them. Take the sergeant in the fluff/combat I posted above. He was a fighter with decent armor, pretty ok stats, and who was lvl3. Simply because I had Gorthug go first, he took 34 damage in a single round. One point over what is statistical if both arrows hit.
For the party, he seems to be a good fit. Everyone else is (logically) going for brute close combat power. Which makes sense, because that's what orcs do. But after watching a youtube video on 'what weapons would orcs actually use' I was sold on the longbow being a great choice for them, because it would let them use their massive strength. They'd have bows that nobody else could handle, and thus insane draw strength. Finding the orc hornbow makes that mechanically possible.
Besides for that, he has the usual scouting skills (stealth, perception, survival, heal). But I understand that with low wisdom, there are others who could do perception better. I'd be happy to have him as a soldier as well.
He's definitely an ambush type build though. At lvl7, when he gets an iterative attack and swift studied target, just imagine him going first against a flat footed opponent within 30ft range.
To Hit: +13(hits twice)/+13/+10
Damage First Hit: 4d6+13
Damage on Second Hit: 4d6+13
Damage on Third Hit: 4d6+13
If he manages all 3 hits, that's an average of 81 damage. To put that in perspective, a Barbarian with 14 Con and FCB will have 75HP. Having 16 Con or Toughness pushes that up to 82HP. This means that at lvl7 with swift action studied target, he'll have a chance at one shotting just about any opponent.
In close combat, he isn't as good...but he is still a Str18 orc who power attacks with a two handed weapon.
For my feat plan...
Feat Plan
Lvl 5: Shield Focus (+1 AC)
Lvl 6 Ranger Feat: Improved Precise Shot
Lvl 7: Manyshot
Lvl 8: Trapfinding
Lvl 9: Unhindering Shield (can use buckler and two handed weapon at same time)
Lvl 10: Advanced Rogue Talent-Feat: Clustered Shots
Lvl 11: Deadly Aim
Lvl 12: Rogue Talent-Weapon Focus
Lvl 13: Furious Focus
This should allow him to be a pretty good switch hitter. The kind of orc who will pin you to a wall with an arrow, and then when you close in will pummel you into the ground.

@Gorthug: Those are some mean stats. If you were to be accepted, which submission would be your preference? The range stat block? It seems like it would be a more helpful fill out to the group. Just making sure I understand what your wanting to do here :)
So 2 separate character stats for 2 separate roles, or this revised stat block for the two roles.

Aye, I'll go with the ranged character. More unique. Fills out the party better. There is only so much room for power attacking monstrosities to surround our enemies. We'll need someone who can fight at range.
Plus he has heal as a class skill. I don't know how we will be handling healing without any magic (divine or arcane). So that should be useful as well.
----
Btw: Imagine how devastating an orc army could be on the battlefield with orc hornbows. Let's take the average orc. Str17, Dex11, Con12. HP6. Unlike normal pathfinder combatants, they aren't firing at single targets. They are firing as a unit, at a large mass of enemy. So hitting really isn't going to be much of an issue. And each shot is doing 2d6+3 damage. 10 average.
Now take your average elf (using average drow stats). Str 11, Dex 15, Con 10. HP5. Give them longbows. Again, they might hit a few more shots, but we are talking about hitting large elements of troops. And each shot is only doing 1d8 damage. 4 average.
So when shooting at each other, it will take, on average, 2 arrows to take down 1 orc. And even then the orcs might keep fighting due to their ferocity. The orc hornbows, on the other hand, are killing an elf with each hit. Often twice over.
This would make orc armies terrifying. You think Agincourt? Try fighting orcs. If you can get them to line up, they'll decimate your army, simply because they are naturally so much stronger than you and thus can use bows that require high strength.
Then throw orc berserkers into the mix (that Str17 becomes 21, and they are power attacking with great weapons), and you'll end up with a huge problem on your hands.

I don't know how we will be handling healing without any magic (divine or arcane). So that should be useful as well.
I modified the rules surrounding the heal skill and how healing works in the game due to the fact that there will be no potion or magical healing options to make it a bit more useful. So the heal skill is going to be a pretty good one to have.
I'll make the note to my documents to your change. I applaud the forward thinking there Gorthug!

IMPORTANT! RECRUITMENT ENDS IN A FEW OF HOURS!
So, just to give some more information, PST runs a bit behind everyone else, and since thats where I'm located, I'll be ending the recruitment in several hours. Typically a couple hours after people get off of work and have some time to settle in at home.
I figured if there aren't any modifications, adjustments or what not done before that time, it may not happen at all tonight, and I want to give myself some time tonight to finalize everything and get to the next phase of getting the campaign going.
So everyone has a bit more time left! Get your changes in soon or be lost to the ravages of time!

RECRUITMENT HAS ENDED!
Recruitment phase has officially ended! Thank you everyone for applying to the campaign! We have some really good applications floating around, so I'm excited to announce the ones that made it!
Below, is the roles and players, and their respective characters who are officially accepted into the campaign! Congratulations!
I've made my decisions on multiple factors, from not only the stat block and application post, but by the thought behind your character, planning and how each persons application post meshes will with each other. For the applied roles and who got them was a bit tougher on deciding, but it ultimately came down to how the posts interacted with each other and how they fit into the theme of the world.
