She looks around for a minute, before looking at the teenager that just called her mother. Is this....our daughter? What is this? Okay...not panicking...we're not in Aquines sooo, just a dream?
She smiles, "I'm sorry, I was just...thinking about something."
Rajni lays in the bed trying to go to sleep, but the feeling of restlessness won't let go. Reaching down she finds Shamara's head and pets her, trying to soothe some of the anxiety she was feeling. Sensing Rajni's distress, Shamara crawled up a little closer to Rajni and began nuzzling her with her head.
Looking down at her beloved friend she said quietly, "C'mon Shamara let's go for a walk. I don't know why I'm so worked up lately, but maybe some time outside will help."
Getting up quietly out of bed she slips on something warm over her sleep clothes, and grabbing her bow heads quietly downstairs to try and slip out the door.
"It's always this, can't you and Arista just accept that maybe I'm meant to be alone," Ylrhea says, wiping away her tears. "You can't just set me up with anyone and think I'd be okay with that. I'm tired of this, I'm tired of...trying to fit in."
Aahhh, but why should I have expected anything less? It's just a dream, just a dream..right? Trying not to appear surprised she looks at her and sighs, "Right....yes. Is it that day already?"
The girl sighs. "Mooooooom, you've known about this for months now. I know you don't want me going, but Auntie Sienna and Auntie Cyna are waiting for me on the boat. You know that I've had my heart set on being a part of the Green Circle...Dad's already said his good-byes."
Sādhanā sighs. "I don't want to fix you up with anyone you wouldn't want to be with. If you wanted to be alone, I'd support you in that, but you don't. It's not about fitting in. It's about having someone to share things with, who at the end of the day makes things better for no other reason than the fact that they're there." she looks at Ylrhea. "The problem is, there's a little part of you that keeps trying to convince you that you don't deserve that. All I want for you, is to stop listening to that part and to realize that it's wrong. Not only do you deserve it, but you will have it, even if it comes from the last place you would expect."
Sienna scoots close to Cyna and wraps her arms around her. "Very soon. We just have to kick a little more ass and then head to Siphas and see our daughter again."
She lets go of the ranger and climbs out of the tub. "I can't wait to be married either. I dream about it every night."
While it was good to spend time with her half-sister, the constantly brought up topic of Niccolo was beginning to wear thin. "You got word from Siphas. You know he's safe, so take it easy."
The devil hunter sighs and leans back in her chair. She missed Arista. At least, her adopted sister could change the subject every now and again. Esmerelda waves down Ieyasu and orders another drink.
Esmerelda downs the rest of the ale in front of her. "You wound me. You're just sore that you're stuck dealing with Michael's students while he rolls around with Jelks on a daily basis."
"I don't mind the children, but, yes, I have been hoodwinked, hornswaggled and thoroughly deceived," Divita mutters. "Gods forbid Niccolo gets that hussy pregnant!"
Sighing, she smiles and puts an arm around her daughter. "I know sweetheart.....and I understand. I'll miss you, but I'm so proud of you." Moving a lock of hair away from her daughter's face, she leans in and gives her a kiss on the forehead before letting her go and standing up. "I know...I know, you're too old for that...but since I'm telling you goodbye...I'm gonna say it's allowed. Is that alright?" She watches as her daughter stands up, a look of pride on her face she says, "C'mon...let's not keep them waiting any longer."
Making her way out of their home....that was still strange to her too...nice and different...but strange all the same. She wonders through Valwick, too...worked up and anxious to sleep. It had been like this for a few days now and she was having a hard time shaking the feeling. The night was much quieter than the day...and easier on her eyes. She makes a few passes through the town, then starts to head towards the woods with Shamara right next to her.
She smiles as she gives her daughters hand a light squeeze, "Not half as much as I've enjoyed having you for a daughter. As long as you know...no matter where you go, or what you do....you will always be our daughter, and we will always love you. More than anything, we are just so proud of the young woman you've become."
Arista tosses and turns in the bed a bit, but then settles down into a more peaceful sleep. A small smile on her lips as her breathing becomes a little deeper and her snoring a little softer.
Sādhanā tries to speak, but for a moment, can't seem to find the words. She would never give up or endanger what she had with Clara, but she couldn't deny that there was a...potential with Ylrhea that would never be truly explored. That Ylrhea, felt it as well and had to ace the idea of being alone because of it broke her heart."I...I'm sorry. If...If things were different..... There is someone, who will be able to love you fully and completely, the way you deserved to be loved, you and only you." she drops to one knee looking into Ylrhea's eyes. "I swear to you on Shelyn herself that you will find the person for you, not someone I or Arista or anyone else sets you up with, but someone who is drawn to you and has thier heart free to devote to you.
Amélie looks up at the sound of a window opening, a washer woman tossing water out into a back alley. In another month or so that would quickly become a patch of ice, the night time chill setting in in earnest, making her glad for the rabbit fur lined jacket and gloves she wore.
Their patrol had been relatively quiet so far, one drunken fistfight at the Old Fish and a pickpocket who thought that running toward the beach would be a good escape. The délinquant was fast.....Gerard was faster.
Jut the though of her partner bursting into a sprint like a wolf on the hunt caused a flutter in her heart and a tingle in....other places. She'd come to Valwick both the help Marcel start over and to do something meaningful. She'd never expected to find love as well. There was definitely something magical about the rapidly growing settlement.
"Every Midwife is aware of a Summoner's presence in the world. While these meetings may seem like happy coincidence to you, they are not," Malyoxa explains. "By speaking to us, you, as Szef, give us blessing to do our work. I'm sure that you were unaware of that."
The drow throws up her hands and sighs. "I suppose it cannot be helped since Blackcrown is in such a sorry state."
"No, I haven't thought that far," Sienna says. "I just want the family that people said we shouldn't have because we're 'tainted by evil'. I wanna be normal or as close to normal as we can possibly be and just prove to those a~$+!@$s out there that we're just as good as they think they are. But I wouldn't want to have a child just to spite people...I want one because I love you and I want to give you the best life ever."
Gerard threw on one of his warm cloaks. Though he was part wolf, he didn't spend his days traipsing through town that way. New people brought new superstitions, new problems. He wondered how word was getting out about Valwick, but surely it still did. You got pickpockets along the crones from the "Old World" going on about werewolves and vampires. Granted, both of those things could be found here in Valwick, but they'd probably soil their dresses if they knew...and then there'd be a hunt. He shook his head. There was only one thing that concerned him: Amélie. He heads to the barracks to wait for her again. Tonight he had a secret for her.
Cyna smiles as her eyes begin to tear up. "Sometimes I imagine the two of us with a house of our own. Sitting in front of a fire talking, no dragons or wizards just the two of us. It's the image I use to block everything out, it helps me fall asleep at night."
As you walk through the woods, you see a man in a green coat, sitting on a tree stump. He looks up at you. "I didn't know other people liked to come here at night."
Michael arrives at Alisbeth's room just as Elsa dodged an energy bolt flying in her direction. Seeing the Master, she quickly said, "Careful Michael! This is one of her really bad episodes."
"You have already done so by speaking to me. If you acknowledge that I am indeed the Midwife of House Volkov, then our business on that end is concluded," Malyoxa explains. "Otherwise, you're free to subject me to any examinations you deem necessary to ascertain my worthiness of the position. You are also free to ask me any questions as part of this test, which I am sure would be of benefit to you."
"Thank you, Elsa, but they've all been bad lately and I don't know why," Michael says. "Perhaps if she talked in her sleep, I could gather some hint..."
Michael dispels another one of Alisbeth's bolts as the child thrashed in her bed. All of his spells were studied to counteract all of hers. His experience and intelligence barely matched the child's raw power...barely. He quickly learned not to rouse the child either, they had already patched the roof once.
"، بچے اپنے آپ کو پرسکون. آپ محفوظ ہیں," Michael whispered in Alisbeth's ear before singing the old draconic song that seemed to soothe her.
